I've been to this place once before a while back and remember it being decent. I ordered buffalo tenders and pepperoni pizza. I ordered the tenders mild buffalo. I remember them being more like tenders before this time they were more like nuggets. They were tasty but I wish they were like the full tenders like before. Place is kind of quiet and dark inside. The pepperoni pizza was really good. I ordered it just the way it is nothing special but it came kind of crispy and it was very tasty. Our waitress was nice and on point. This is a local business so supporting them felt good. Ordered a large pepperoni and onion pizza. It was fantastic. The crust had burnt cheese edges which added to the incredible flavor. The waitress said it was a "bar pie". I was able to barely finish it by myself. Portion size was perfect and the price was more than fair. Delicious- A Little Different In an area filled with pizza bars serving small crispy bar pies, the Home Cafe is a little different. Not much to look at inside and not even big on atmosphere, the one thing the Home Cafe has it over the others is I think it may serve the "best" bar pie. The difference is from what they tell me is the cheddar cheese, but when I taste their pizza there is something buttery and a hair thicker about the crust that makes it different. The pizza product coming out of this joint is absolutely delicious. Throw in a string drink or two and you gave a winner. In grand scheme of "south shore" pizza bars serving bar pies, I've been to other that I would rather hang out longer at. However, there isn't one that I would rather eat the pizza from. Visited the Home Cafe this afternoon ( 12/9/24 ) with five other friends. We ordered onion rings, two greek salads and six pizzas ( and a few to go ) The six of us enjoy bar pizza and usually decide where our next outing will be in advance, then about every four to six weeks head to that bar pizza destination. Our server was JoJo who she said was filling in for someone today as she normally works weekends. She was very pleasant and attentive and made sure everyone was pleased with their meal. We all agreed that our selections were tasty and cooked just the way we wanted and had a nice large quiet table off to the side of the bar. We had never been here before and would certainly come again and would definitely recommend Home Cafe for some good old fashioned bar pizza! read more

This is the stuff! Came in here after reading a review on Boston Bar pies and people seem to like this pizza. Came into the bar on an early evening and there were maybe a dozen patrons. Bar itself reminds me of a Wisconsin tap, kind of comfortable, dark and a place where reg's hang out. Ordered a Pepperoni and a Sausage and Mushroom, with burnt edges. Chilled out with a couple of double gin and tonics. Took the pizza to the hotel and had a feast, was I surprised. Crust had a nice texture, adequate amount of cheese and sauce. The pizza was great. Mm we recently got pizza here for one of our work lunches! Overall it was a great meal and I'm very happy we ordered from here. Heads up - the pizzas here are 10-inch in diameter, which is kind of right in between personal size and share size. But the prices are really fair and about the amount you would pay for a personal lunch. So, really, it's perfect, as you get your own personal pizza all for yourself :) These pies are delicious. I had the buffalo chicken for myself (which comes with a side of tasty blue cheese), but also got to swap some slices with my friends so I got to try the pepperoni, sausage and pepper, and some others as well. Overall phenomenal, especially for the Brockton area where there are not as many choices as there would be downtown for pizza etc. The burnt edges cost 50 cents extra, which I didn't think was worth it at the time, but seeing as so many reviews mention them, I think next time it warrants a try. My friend who picked the pizzas up mentioned that the atmosphere inside feels really cool, and that it would be a fun place to actually dine in and have a drink with the pizza. Home Cafe doesn't look much from the outside- like a lounge from yesteryear, but please venture in anyway. It is surprisingly big with plenty of seats. We came on a Sunday afternoon- Pat's game was on. There were a group of characters hanging out with the bartender Terri cutting up with them- it created a jovial atmosphere. The beer selection isn't great, but they have all the regular beers- Lagunitas IPA was the most adventurous. We came for the pizza, but the menu has a lot of other options. We started with the boneless Buffalo wings (we wanted to try the potato skins but they were out- thankfully, Terri informed us before our hearts were set on them!) We got the "wings" medium and they were amazing! The meat was tender with a slightly crunch outside. There was a nice heat on the sauce without been unbearable (bonus, we were told the sauce was made in house and it was delish). The pizza was great too- extra cheese for me- cooked perfectly and tasted as good as it looked. My husband got sausage and onion, he really enjoyed it. I had a piece of the sausage- it had great flavor. All around great experience and at a great price. read more

The pizza here is so mouthwateringly delicious! I can't believe I've driven by here for years and never knew how amazing it it!! Street parking. I've never had a problem finding a spot. The place is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Always clean and they are super friendly here. Bartender on the weekend is wicked nice and attentive and even changed the channel for me on the tv so I could watch the Bruins! Nice sized bar with a few TV's and keno. Also 2 pool tables. Like I said, pizza is fantastic!! And they don't skimp on toppings either. Burgers are huge and scrumptious as well and I also love the potato skins! Only thing that was disappointing was the onion rings. Everything else is so unbelievably amazing!!! I've lived in the area my whole life. I'm sorry to say that this is the first time that I ever went to Home Cafe!! The pizza is very good! My boyfriend and I always looking for new pizza places.. Typically we head for Lynnwood's or Cape Cod Cafe.. The pizza at Home Cafe beats out the other two local favorites in our opinions. I've been going to this place for a couple of years now somebody turned me on to it, I was a little nervous because of the area however their food is very good the pizza is a fantastic the salads are great Etc...My only problem is the bar maid thats there on Saturday and Sundays, her name is Terry and she is not very friendly she does have her little crowd of people that think she's the greatest thing since sliced bread but nothing could be further than the truth! If you get a woman named Susan or a woman named Jessica you're good to go. Terry does things the way she wants to do them, if she comes in to work and doesn't feel good you're not treated very well, I have talked to other people and they have told me the same thing I know at least a half a dozen people that won't go there anymore just because of this bartender so if you would like to try some good food in kind of a divey bar call first and find out who the bartender is cuz if you do decide to go on a night she's there you will then understand this post a lot better. She has been reported to management but management doesn't seem to care either so damned if you do damned if you don't. There are other places like the Lynnwood that have equally as good pizza with the same type of atmosphere. This place has the potential of being a gold mine however the parking is terrible, they don't take credit cards, and you have to deal with a nasty bartender. read more

OK Let me first say that I am new to this place, It was closed for a long time due to a flood from a broken line in the street, However they are now open again And it is very near to where I live. I have heard good and bad about this place But one can't go by what you hear So I tried it about a month ago and Have been back at least four times! The place is nice, The food is very good, I had a Burger that was wonderful, And the Pizza is also very good. A Woman named Cindy owns the place and also is a bartender as well, She is great! Also a Girl named Jenn works there as a bartender, She welcomed me as a new customer and is super friendly.. I Wish She worked More nights Because you never have to wait for anything :-) My only beef is that they don't take any credit cards, Living in a City like Brockton It is not a good idea to walk around with money in you're pocket So I find this to be very inconvenient, This is the only Restaurant I have been to in over 15 Years that does not accept credit cards. Other than that little problem I find this place to be a gem. All the other customers are very nice And you see a lot of the same faces there. I rated this place a 4 out of 5 only because of the credit card issue, Other than that I recommend this place to anyone who likes good food, good service, and a nice place to boot! PS: Also let me add that this place has High Def Tv's And if Keno is you're thing They have that there as well! Been going here since I was a kid when you could get a cheese pizza for 2 bucks and they had the small jukeboxes at each booth. Just went today after they reopened after another water main break and the pizza is better then ever. Got a buffalo chicken pizza and cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks for the kids.
