Pizza is not great... was trying to figure out how something could have so many toppings and so many calories yet still taste bland and tasteless. The honey mustard is pretty good because it masks the rest of the unflavorful pizza they sell. The honey mustard is essentially super sweet honey that has drowned out the spicyness and flavor of the mustard. Pizzas also came crispy burnt on the edges and top but somehow still white at the bottom. Service is fine. I'm a huge fan of supporting locals but man this was just sad. read more

Okay look - the pizza here is wicked awesome but the service?... I came in yesterday, sat at the bar, Katie was my server. It took Katie a good while to notice us, throughout the entire two hours she never looked in our direction except for the few times she took our order and reluctantly brought us water + our food. It all started when she asked to see mine + my girlfriend's ID. She studied us in condescending animation right off the rip judging two 31 year olds as underage. The LOOK this women gave each of us was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. all we wanted was 1 Guinness to share, which I'm sure added to this narrative of her thinking we were using fake IDs. But that also just made us feel even more judged like sorry we aren't big drinkers: don't judge 2 girls for sharing a Guinness. There was a lot of attitude coming from her when we placed our food order. But what really got me was when she made it into a huge thing when we asked for water with no ice. It was so grotesque I can't even find the adequate words to describe this moment, the completely unnecessary purposefully ignorant, awkward, condescending, verbal and non-verbal language this women was using.... Came in for a lunch. The place is an area institution we were informed by a local who was with us and grew up in the area. We were 5 with a two year old. It is a pub type sports bar set up with an extensive kitchen and pizza ovens. The pizza is beloved by the locals. We are from NY originally and live in Philly now and have travelled outside the USA, so have tried all types of pizza. There are tables around the edge of the place with a few smaller tables for two. The bar is in the center. Service was great we had a very simpatico server. We all got pizza. I got a basic cheese pie with half bacon. I asked for the bacon to be crispy and the crust toasty. It came exactly as ordered and was delicious. I ate the whole thing. The pies are bar pie size. Also a couple of Yuengling lagers. The pizza was very good not great. I would have preferred more sauce and cheese and saw an option for ordering extra of both. Will do that on a second visit. A good lunch stop. Total $150 with tip. We will return when in town. Overrated and a largely unearned reputation for their just OK bar pizza. Usual crowd of loud inebriates at the large bar area - noisy atmosphere. We were there for a late afternoon family gathering for about 3 hours. Our waitress was rude and impatient and had to be told to leave us alone when she asked for the fourth time if we ready to order our dinners after we were still having our salad. We started with Greek salads which were good but things went downhill quickly after that. I ordered Paul's Homemade Beef Stew (a Thursday special) - what a mistake! My cup of odd tasting brown s#*t was completely devoid of any pieces of beef - not even a shred. One very generous person in our party paid for everyone - if I had been dining alone, I would have just walked. When the Pizza is done right, it cracks Top 5 of all time!!! Since the post covid supply side shocks to the economy that all companies faced, (so by that I mean not their fault) Town Spa hasn't been as consistent as what they once were (an absolute crown jewel of Massachusetts). So, sometimes at worst you get a 3.5 pizza (which is still better than most places best pies) and sometimes you get a 5 pizza (a lone tear drop of childhood remembering joy down your face at the greatness). One of the last times I went there the pizza was peak quality! When I asked the waitress she said a guy named Waters made it, so I'd say ask for him! Other than that the interior vibe and decor is still consistent which is actually what I look for in a place I've been going for 30+ years. This place has a great "bar pizza" but it is a little deceptive with pricing if you're not familiar with the sizes of certain items. For example, I wanted a grilled chicken Cesar salad and they come in two sizes. They told me a small is enough for an adult. It was about the size of a chicken nugget box if that helps. I would have gotten the larger size. Pizza is small and enough for a single personal due to its size. Go with a larger size for 2 or more people. The tase is there! Town spa is my favorite bar pizza in the south shore. They always deliver the same great taste every time. My friend and I always split a ham and pineapple pizza, and a meatball pizza. It's the perfect combo to us! We have also tried classic cheese, and pepperoni as well. The sauce flavor is SO good. We also sometimes get chicken fingers and have to have it with the honey mustard dipping sauce, it's also good to dip the pizza crust in too! The service is friendly and fast. If you're getting takeout on a weekend, it will definitely be a bit of a wait but it's 100% worth it. read more

Mixed feelings. I want to love this place, I really do. It has all the qualities of an old-school joint that I love. However, my husband and I had a less-than-stellar experience here recently... We haven't been here in years and came in on a Friday night. As we were about to sit at the bar, the bartender informed us there was a wait for bar seats. Ummm WHAT?? I've never been to a place where the bar wasn't first come, first served...until now! It was such a turn-off, we almost left but we waited it out and were eventually seated. We ordered what we normally get for takeout: chicken tenders with honey mustard, a garlic pizza and a "rotating" pizza. This time our rotating pizza was buffalo chicken. I was surprised it did not come with any dipping sauce so I asked for ranch and was given a pouch bag of ranch (the kind that normally comes with salads) which was another turn-off of the night. I do want to take a minute to rave about the honey mustard sauce (if you know, you know). This is their own homemade recipe and it is out-of-this-world fantastic. A little thicker than "thin" crust but not as floppy as New York or as deep as Chicago. It is delicious, I think this is called "bar" or "pub" pizza. Town Spa will not seat incomplete parties and that's cool. There's no reason the restaurant should have you taking up a table especially when other diners are waiting. Barbara was our wonderful server, she made us feel like family! She has worked there for 31 years and she treats each customer like gold. We got the sampler appetizer - the wing dings were outstanding and the house made honey mustard sauce was delicious. We also got our hamburger bar pizza laced and crispy and dipped the crust into the honey mustard sauce as recommended. YUM! Family friendly place with comfortable booths. 2 parking lots. I've been here twice over the last few weeks. I had never heard of Town Spa before, but it's one of my bf's favorites (he grew up in Milton and Canton). We finally went a couple of weeks ago and the pizza was really good! I got the sausage and mushroom while he got a bbq chicken pizza. Both were tasty and we were excited to have leftovers for the weekend. The service was a little spotty because the restaurant was backed. Our poor server was running around taking orders, bringing food AND clearing/cleaning tables because the high school boys who were supposed to clear were just standing around and talking to each other. I hope the server got all the tips and didn't have to share. Anyway - also went yesterday at around 3:30 pm on a Sunday. We sat at the bar that time. Quick, friendly service, good pizza and well-priced drinks! This time was pepperoni and mushroom for me and onion for him. I had leftovers the same night! Ha. Amazing pizza!! Recommended by a colleague and was not disappointed. Personal pizzas with plenty of toppings to choose from. Crust is fantastic (try the garlic sauce).
