I believe this place changed owners a few months ago. The previous pizza was definitely a five out of five don't get me wrong, it's still excellent but a little bit different than it was before. This is a very small shop, but their service is great, and the prices are good, as well. Usually get takeout once or twice a month from alumni. read more

I was a regular at the old Alumni location in Wollaston - on the dot, every Thursday, I'd get my pizza. When it closed, I was bereft. My cholesterol levels lowered, but I was sad. Then it opened in the new location and I was excited! But, alas, nowhere near my house and I don't drive. Along came Quincy Eats, an outstanding local delivery service. Fast and reasonably priced. I now can get my favorite pizza of all time delivered! It is a little thicker than your average South Shore bar pizza, which is part of why it's my favorite. It fills you up. Toppings are generous and prices are very good. And I love that the new location has salads, as to me a South Shore Bar pizza is not complete without a Greek salad. I only went to sister location Rags once. The staff were nice. I didn't appreciate the Trump banner. Keep politics out of pizza, please. read more

I'm basing my review solely on the bar pizza as that's what I come here for. It is one of my favorites on the South Shore. The crust is on the thinner side, light, airy and crispy-crunchy. There is no flop no matter how many toppings. My go-to topping here is mushroom & green pepper. It's the same pizza/menu as The Braintree Brewhouse, another one of my favorite bar pizza spots. This place is not fancy, but a classic comfortable dive bar where you can get a cold beer and a great pizza. French fries are above-average too. Go check them out! read more

Great place! Great pizza! If you can get it. Called, and tried to order and was informed I can't order that way and that I had to go through a delivery service. So, I went through the whole process of signing up and ordering only to find out at the end the service doesn't take cash like they did when I could order straight from the Alumni. This has the best pizza I've found on the south shore. really outstanding pizza. they also put on baked beans on a pizza, and pulled it off. it was really good. As Stephan from SNL would say, drunks, sluts, smokers outside, harley riders inside, horseshoe-shaped bar, wrap around TVs showing sports including the sport of Keno, trays of french fries, publicans, classy bar maids, lower class bar maids, low class republicans, lower class republicans, friendly drunks, less friendly drunks, bar pizza being shared. And no one knew or cared the difference between a Harley and a horse. There is no covid there because they say there is no covid there. (ps. there is covid there). Good place to get in, get the pizza, and get out. once covid is over, it will return to being just a dive bar rather than a dangerous dive bar. I hope to go back, but won't stay too long because in my world, covid still exists. If it was uncrowded, it would be worth going to for eat in. read more

Service: Awful. Sat at bar for 15 minutes before a bartender came over, then we were promptly ignored for most of our visit. They seemed annoyed to be th Beer: Somehow both draft and bottle tasted skunky. There's no beer list and when you ask what beers they have, the bartenders act annoyed. Just supposed to read their mind apparently. Food: Actually not bad. Much better than expected. Side note: funny that their policy is no kids (21+) yet there was a 10-year-old kid working behind the bar when we went. I have ordered pizza from Alumni on a few occasions, and the pizza was always very good. A few weeks ago, I had some friends at the house and ordered 6 pizzas. All the pizzas were overcooked and dried out. Normally, I would just never order again. However, my sister-in-law convinced me to call the restaurant. I called, and I spoke with Eddie. He could not have been nicer. He told me to come again, and the cost of my pizzas would be waived. Not only was my next order free of charge, they were cooked perfectly, and they were delicious! On top of that, Eddie reached out to me the following day to make sure the order was just perfect! Fabulous pizza...and Fabulous customer service! I will continue to make Alumni my go to spot for bar pizza, and be recommending it to friends! read more

My wife and I heard about this place from a local bartender. We heard that they serve good bar pizza, so that's what we got. The restaurant / bar is in a run-down strip mall. Most of the seating is around the horseshoe shaped bar. There are tables around the edge of the room. If I remember correctly, the Alumni used to be located in Quincy but relocated to Weymouth. Prior to moving into their new spot, someone did a good job renovating. Like I said, we went there for pizza. The pizza was good, but not great. I'd still like to try it again. The beer was certainly cold and there was a good selection. My main issue with this place is the number of TVs. They sit high above the bar and are literally wall-to-wall everywhere you look. I guess I can't fault the place for that, as it is a sports bar. But the room itself is kind of small and the light from all of the TVs gave the room kind of an unnatural glow. We'll probably visit again as the menu looked good and the service was also very good. read more

started coming here after multiple bad experiences at another Weymouth barroom. Alumni pizza has a great crust. sauce is average but the toppings are fresh. Bottled beer is ice cold. Beers on tap are hit or miss. Bartenders very nice. Only 2 tables so if you don't get a seat at the bar it is hard to eat. Blue collar local patrons but very welcoming. Having just moved back from CA it is nice to have a good bar room pizza place in Weymouth. read more
