After switching insurance plans, I needed to find a new pharmacy for a prescription refill. My new plan had a tool to compare prescription prices for in-network pharmacies and Alto had the lowest price. I went on their site to register and request that my prescription be transferred to Alto, which took a couple of days. After the transfer process was complete, I requested the prescription refill. They offer free prescription delivery via courier, but I opted to pick it up at their Bellevue pharmacy location. It is located inside Plaza 520. There are numerous buildings in this business center, so you should take down the address or look on a map app to find the location. The pharmacy interior is pretty basic. There is just a front desk and what seems to be some prescription bins for couriers to gather prescriptions for delivery on the left. Pickup was quick. I just gave my name and the staff member brought my prescription out which included a couple of free sea salt caramels inside the bag. Mixed experiences with Alto. I'm really unsure whether to put 2 or 3 stars...I'm selecting 3 stars, but 2 stars could be warranted. At the end of the day, I'd rather pick up my medications myself, but UHC makes in-person pharmacies unnecessarily expensive. Possibly worth using Alto if you have horrific health insurance like I do in 2026 w UHC, but beware the inability to speak w someone on the phone w Alto at times, which will make diagnosing problems between your pharmacy and health insurer more difficult. In my eyes, the only reason Alto exists (sorry guys) is because the horrific insurer UHC makes using in-person pharmacies ridiculously overpriced. -- 1 - The reason I'm using Alto is because I'm using UHC health insurance in 2026, which...I think is my first time w UHC, and...overall, in under 4 months, I've come to understand that UHC is horrific as "popular culture" makes it out to be (I've been quite happy w past insurers, tho changes this year made me consider and ultimately pick UHC, but its unlikely I will ever do so again). So unfortunately for Alto, they are just associated w UHC. UHC makes Alto a choice to pick since UHC ridiculously inflates medication prices with in-person pharmacies (like 3-5x at least). So, first con of Alto is...I'm picking Alto only because UHC sucks so hard. 2 - Next challenge, also related to UHC sucking so hard. I had a medication that UHC was highly screwing up on. They were charging me FAR more than is normal/expected/correct for the medication. On the particular week I was trying to get that medication figured out...Alto had some issues so I could NOT get anyone on the line to talk to. I had to message through an app, only. It was impossible for me to figure out whether it was Alto's mess-up or UHC's mess-up. In the end, I had to move that particular rx to Safeway instead of Alto, so I could just talk to someone on the phone or face to face. With a lot of back and forth, speaking with the Safeway pharmacist, it because clear it was UHC's problem, but due to not being able to speak w anyone from Alto on the phone, it was impossible for me to figure that out. Again, this is more UHC's fault than Alto's, but...you should only use Alto IF you are cursed w an insurer as horrific as UHC. 3 - I've had 3 deliveries (for other medications; I'm leaving the above one w Safeway since I want to have a face-to-face pharmacist for that one); they've all been delivered, but also all 3 have required my interaction with the the delivery person. I don't want to criticize the delivery person's...but the fact of the matter is, the only way I can describe Alto is "DoorDash for prescriptions." And...while I wouldn't mind someone delivering food to my home, medications is more sketchy...if you mess up a single delivery that can mess stuff up if you're running short on a medication. I called this pharmacy and after many calls, my actual Dr. his MA calling as well, sending them everything they wanted/required...just to find out that my medication was not available. Then told it was available to my medical team so tried to re-order, after days and multiple attempts never got the medication. Wish they had been honest especially after ALL the hoops I had to jump through. The customer service was decent and helpful and I realize my med is on back order but did not at the time. I also wish they had offered a recommendation for something available. I do see that my insurance was billed for a medication I never received as well. read more

Terrible service. Only good for the most benign situations. Not good for urgently needed medication or anything timely as they are completely unreliable. Definitely irritated not good for birth control due to the rules they follow which results in many delays and back and forth with doctors and insurance. Support tries to help - it's is mostly incompetent but polite. I've been having a 3 day issue with my delivery which is yet to be resolved so I've had no medication that whole time and no resolution in sight. Find another pharmacy! They will let you down when you need them most. These folks don't deserve the one star in forced to give them. read more

We did make an order once and live about 80 miles away so prescription items had to be shipped. The Inpen diabetic device items were within a few months of expiring! called Alto and they dummied up about why they sent devices that use batteries that were so near the end of the battery life. They replaced but we had to pay the copay again. We contacted a local pharmacy and they were able to fill the Inpen order.So done with Alto. read more

Alto's delivery folks almost never leave my prescriptions in the clearly labeled delivery box right next to my front door. Instead they leave these controlled substances in plain view of the public literally a foot away from the box, or sometimes ON IT without opening it! Their app does not have a reliable method for communicating where to leave deliveries that aren't contradictory. Yes, deliveries "may be left", but you can't tell them to put it in a box or mail slot without adding "additional information" which their drivers clearly do not read. This is an easy software fix, but obviously they have no intention of fixing this glaring problem. Of dozens of deliveries, maybe 15-20% are actually placed inside the delivery box. Despite my negative ratings of every delivery, the only response I've received from them is blaming me for not telling the drivers where to leave packages. Which I have. In their app, in the only place you can. Clearly their drivers are not motivated to be thoughtful in their deliveries, which makes me wonder if they're even trustworthy enough to be driving around with carloads of controlled medications. If you have important medications or live somewhere that you need things delivered to a precise location for safety, DO NOT use Alto. This service is for suburbanites in safe neighborhoods with no porch pirates. read more

I really wanted to give them 5 stars. Unfortunately like everyone else I need to be honest in this review and their poor service means i must warn others not to use Alto. I had a good experience with them once when i was sick with cough and seeing how its home delivery, i tried to move some of my regular prescriptions to them. This is where the trouble starts. They priced one of my medicines incorrectly ($112 more than what i am supposed to pay), i confirmed with insurance that they are 100% covered like they have always been. Alto Pharmacy pretty much threw their hands up and arent able to fix it so i need to transfer the prescription back. They did not even try to fix it from what my insurance told me since they said Alto should be getting 100% reimbursed by insurance if they bill it properly. Unfortunately the prescription transfer phone number for Alto is same as customer service and no one picks up the phone as everyone else has mentioned. So now i am out of my medicine with my pharmacy trying to get the prescription transferred back to them. SERIOUSLY, ALTO PHARMACY, INVEST IN HIRING A CALL CENTER AND PICK UP THE PHONE!!! I would not be able to recommend this pharmacy due to poor customer service and obvious gaps in working with insurance on medicines. Done waste your time, QFC, Fred Meyer, Costco, Safeway, CVS, Bartell, Walmart - All of these will give you infinitely better customer service. read more

They did not have the medicine Paxlovid I was told after waiting for a day. they also want to charge me $1400. (I knew something was wrong) I requested that they transfer prescription Walgreens, that never happened I called the next day (they did not respond to help link). waited 2 hours on hold and told the fee would be $20 and would get today by 4:30 pm. It did not arrive and now stated would be another three days. I got a new prescription from my doctor which was sent to Walgreens Diamond Hts. The pharmacist personally called me to let me know that it had arrived and would have it ready in 15 minutes. read more

Mitchell at the front of the house was so authentic and understanding of a headache of a medical day I was going through. Sometimes when it comes to healthcare you just need someone to be a human. He should always be the one talking to patients. The only lack of a full 5 stars is due to how awkward it was after 5 when all the delivery guys are standing infront waiting to pick up the deliveries. It's a clinic for a lot of women picking up fertility drugs and about 20 men are gathered right infront of the entrance at 5:30 . Felt a tiny bit uncomfortable to walk through. Not the biggest deal but maybe there could be a different solution to that. read more

I asked them to request a transfer from Bartell, and had to keep emailing for updates, I was told they don't stock that medication. 4 days after I requested the transfer. What a waste of time. I love Alto! Previously, myself and my fiancée used a local pharmacy in West Seattle and after it was merged with another pharmacy, it became a disaster and a pain to deal with. Alto saved the day. They were really great about going the extra mile to get my prescriptions transferred to them and were very friendly with their customer service. They always deliver my prescriptions on time and never have any trouble finding my home. The delivery drivers are always very nice. My fiancée and myself have been no less than impressed with Alto and are so glad we switched. They have a courier that delivers to you same day and we have never seen a more professional pharmacy. Looking at some reviews, it seems this business was doing great at the start but has gotten worst after the pandemic. My insulin had a balance due but according to my insurance I should not because it is covered. So not right for them to charge me! Been contacting my doctor and local pharmacy because I want to transfer my meds to them and ask not to send anymore prescription to them. I thought it was a great idea to have my meds delivered since I'm dependent on over 11 different medications but boy was I wrong. Gave one star because the website was easy to use, thumbs up to that. Otherwise, I would not do business with Alto again. They need help with customer service. I wish I had an option to screenshot responses, which were all answered short and some didn't even apply to the question. Call them, do not bother, no one will answer. And they keep referring to use the un-useful customer service on the website. Never again would I use these kind of service! My meds are time sensitive. The service at Alto It's horrible! read more

This is a compliment for Aushia R, my knowledgeable and above-and-beyond phone service rep today. After 1-2 years with Alto, I was about to move my pharmacy to CVS for lack of better options, and she saved the relationship. Her quick thinking is the reason I'm sticking with Alto and giving a 4-star review instead of a 1-star. The context in brief: I got some incorrect info from previous Alto reps in the weeks prior that had me jumping through hoops with my provider. Despite my head start, this incorrect info left me with just a few days left to secure a sufficient prescription before I needed it, which was disappointing and stressful. The previous rep suggested the only solutions were to pay out of pocket or transfer to my insurance's preferred pharmacy. When I called today to do that, Aushia understood the situation immediately, saw the solution, and offered to call my insurance personally to clear things up. She set me up with a delivery scheduled for today. Amazing. Alto team, hang on to your experienced and knowledgeable reps, starting with Aushia R! On paper, this service sounds terrific. The website is friendly and well-designed, and the first few Rx deliveries went very well. HOWEVER, Alto gets poor marks for resiliency. I had a common drug that I take daily that I only had a few days left on (which should be fine for a "next-day-delivery" pharmacy. Ordering on Dec 29th, the website _said_ it could deliver by Dec 30th, but wouldn't let me complete the order. After talking to the service team, they said that the delivery could only be complete on Jan 3rd. Not great, but workable -- so I ration my meds to make it to Jan 3rd. On the evening of Jan 2nd, I got a notification that my delivery wouldn't be able to be delivered until Jan 7th (reportedly due to weather, though the snow we got over the holidays was basically gone). That's not going to work. After contacting service multiple times, no one was able to offer an alternative to getting me my medication aside from transferring it to a local Safeway, which I did and picked up that day. People rely on their medications to survive. Before Alto becomes a service that's worth recommending, they need to offer backup options for their customers to get medications right away (if deliveries aren't possible). Maybe partner with a local pharmacy or offer physical locations where prescriptions can be picked up. The key here is MULTIPLE options. Heath care services with single-points-of-failure don't cut it. read more

This pharmacy used to be excellent. When I first started using it, I was shocked at how painless the pharmacy experience could be. For the last six months, they NEVER have my medications available -- even though they send me texts and push notifications saying they are ready to schedule. One medication I haven't been able to fill once in that entire time, and when I try to talk to the pharmacist about what potential alternatives are in stock, they are rude and dismissive, insisting that my provider write endless prescriptions until they get lucky -- which means I don't get medication on time or at all. Now they claim that the medication I switched to this pharmacy for in the first place is unavailable due to "supply chain issues", but the manufacturer has stated there is no shortage of this medication. I tried explaining this to customer service and they once again give me the run around. I can't tell you how many frustrated exchanges I've had with customer service in the past few months, and every time they are not only unhelpful but completely unempathetic. No one even apologizes for the "inconvenience" (it's more than an inconvenience, it's a huge burden with the potential to ruin my life) or treats me with any humanity or understanding at all. This is literally a pharmacy, the only service you're responsible for providing is filling prescriptions. Making sure people get their medications. No one at Alto seems interested in this anymore, though. I will be switching back to my old pharmacy, which unfortunately means having to go off a medication that really improved my QoL. But at least my old pharmacy can fill prescriptions reliably and goes above and beyond to provide care. I cannot say the same about Alto -- imagine the worst pharmacy you've ever used, they probably still managed to fill your medications at least sometimes, right? it's unbelievable -- and I cannot recommend more strongly to avoid them at all costs if you are someone who can't afford to go without your meds. I've tried to explain to them that their apathy is life-endangering but it's just like talking to a wall. Really sad because this used to be a great service. read more

As both a patient and a health care provider I can honestly say that I have never had a worse pharmacy. They didn't have four of the six post-surgical medications I was prescribed and these are generic and routine pain meds and muscle relaxants. The two they did have were over the counter meds that I had been given prescriptions for. Their customer support is useless and they kept sending me notices that I needed to schedule a delivery for a medication only to find that it was the same medication that had been on back order for months and was still on back order. No what it was, I can no longer recommend. When all goes right, it is GREAT. For regular refills, it's the best. When something is not right, it's a nightmare. My wife was in the ER, NEEDED 3 meds right away, we are now into the 3rd day and NOTHING. They don't have it, waiting for insurance approval (heck I will just pay for it) and they just don't communicate. Get on the phone. on hold for 40 minutes then it turns to 7:00 (when they close), they just disconnect the call. Not the Alto they were. read more

Update: had another script still at Alto and you would think it would be simple. Nope. First, delayed same day supposed to be delivered. Then when delivered wrong one. Thinking I maybe had put it in the cart I reordered. Wrong one arrived. Again. Both delivery notifications say right type. The list of deliveries in another part of App says wrong one. So now I have a bunch of incorrect types and no current one and paid (ins doesn't cover) a fortune for them. And my messages to them in the App are responded to by an AI who has just a few phrases that make zero sense. Would have transferred to another pharmacy but they don't answer their phone. I do not recommend this place at all and will share that with everyone. Also. They claimed the made a delivery and did not and building concierge says they've been doing that a lot lately. read more

My beloved Pharmaca closed and someone suggested Alto. It's been a challenge from the start with poor communication on a medication that is in short-supply. You can either message through the app and expect a response in 12-24 hours (and that's for each follow-up question/response which can take days to get to a conclusion) or call and be on-hold for 40 or more minutes. This isn't acceptable when dealing with a delayed medication that they don't bother telling you about until the day your medication is supposed to be delivered. I couldn't even get them to deliver two medications at the same time as they promised, which is a hassle to track. After three months of trying, I'm giving up and going to a pharmacy where they actually answer the phone when you call. read more

Impressed! I had a hard to find medication that I was not able to get filled at any chain pharmacy near me. After trying 7 pharmacies one directed me to try Alto. Not only was it super easy to transfer my prescription, it was fast, they were able to get my medication, and customer service was excellent. They answered all my questions and I had the best experience. The free delivery made it very easy. I don't live in their service area but my office is. They delivered to me in person, in the time frame I was given, and I was even able to track their location so I could meet them. I am extremely happy with this pharmacy and their service! I have nothing but great things to say about Alto. They are easy to work with, do not have long wait times, and deliver same day! They have a very user-friendly app. Instead of calling for your prescription, you can see it all there and you can order on the app. Or you can even text or message them to schedule a delivery. They have a 3 hour window to deliver the medication. On top of that, you can even track where the courier is! Like you would a pizza! This is hard for me to write because I want to like this business but sadly they don't have very good customer service when there is an issue on their end. More than one time I had a prescription set for delivery and more than one time has their been issues with its arrival. One drug requires an adult signature so when you schedule to be available for their 4 hour window and have it planned for 2 weeks to cancel an hour before because the drug is out of stock is ridiculous. It merits a phone call not a message through the app! No excuse! Are you telling me when you accept a delivery and it is set that you don't know weather or not you have the drug in stock?!?!? Not only did I waste a day to be home but there was no apology, they offered no resolution. Now I am left to source the medication myself cold calling pharmacies which I immediately found it in stock, phoned my doctor to request they call it in bc alto won't transfer the script, and go get it myself! TL;DR: Degraded service and poor medication availability. Not the same as 2 years ago. Consider using a local pharmacy if you need something urgently within the same day or next day. I believe the pharmacists and staff are working as hard as they can but the overall system is no longer in a great shape. The experience started great about 2 years ago. Support was responsive within the same day, call wait time is less than 5 minutes and everything was in stock. Fast forward to 6 months ago, we noticed a trend of medications being out of stock (very common antibiotics) and we had to wait for a few days until it can be delivered. We ended up asking the doctor to send the prescription to another local pharmacy so we can get the medication within the same day which is crucial for an acute medical condition. Also, we noticed longer wait time for online support. Instead of the same day response, it will take up to a day or 2 before hearing back. 3 weeks ago, I needed another medication urgently within the same day or next day morning. It was a Friday and Alto couldn't delivered again (not until the next Tuesday which is not acceptable). Given the doctor office closed early, I had to do a prescription transfer, the local pharmacy called me, told me that they called Alto and was told the wait time is more than an hour, and they couldn't hold on a line for that long. Desperately, I sent an message via the app and called Alto myself and again the machine told me the wait time is an hours. Being on hold of 50 minutes, I finally talked to someone. The rep told me my medication is actually in stock but just a different manufacture and there is only a few dollars difference. What!? So the app never even bothered to provide the option to get something that is immediately available. Instead, it just showed out of stock and I had to wait for a few days for the same medication but a different manufacture? The rep offered to switch to a another manufacture and get the med delivered the same day; I accepted that with no hesitation. An hour later, I got an message via the app saying my medication was transferred over to the local pharmacy... what a mess, it looks like my case status was not properly updated after talking to the phone rep. In summary. The availability and accessibility of the customer service and medication have been going down hill to a degree that I no longer consider Alto as my primary pharmacy.
