I never felt rushed, and all of my questions were answered with patience and professionalism. It's clear that Dr. Torrey genuinely cares about his patients and takes pride in providing excellent care. I left feeling informed, confident, and well taken care of. Furthermore, she doesn't get mad when you yell an expletive in her office while enduring that weird puff of air in the eye test. She's great at helping you pick out frames that are suitable for your face and personality, too. They've got a great selection if you're looking for new specs. Your experience there is personalized from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave. If it's possible to look forward to going to the doctor, it would be this one. About the ONLY reason I wouldn't recommend this place to someone would be because I hate pulling in and out of the strip mall where it's located at Hampden and Happy Canyon. It's the suck. Everything else, though? Fantastic.

Based on a recommendation from my bestie, Smoky Hill Eye Care was highly recommended. Getting an appointment was easy. (Bonus: They have appointments on Saturdays.) Office staff are very professional, and the testing done is thorough. They are upfront with communication about the costs of procedures and bill insurance appropriately. Dr. Puzzo was friendly and got my new prescription updated with ease. The only thing that took a little more time than I would have liked was the online questionnaire I had to complete before my appointment. There was no way to mark some questions with multiple answers, so you had to answer a question multiple times to have more than one answer. (In my case, it was because I have multiple allergies.)

Imagine the internal suspense I felt, when the moving van carrying all my ugly furniture was lost…read moreon a vacant highway in Nevada near area 51. Yes my prayers were heard. Better than Craig's list, my furniture would leave the Earth's atmosphere. But as the world turns, it was found and we had short notice. I think there was a lift off, a scanner was turned on, and the internal effects were considered unsatisfactory. That being said, with short notice, suddenly a large truck backed up into our new residence, and in moments we were closed off from life by a multitude of boxes that climbed above our heads.. I immediately remembered my son's eye appointment, pushed aside the boxes that had cornered me in the kitchen, grabbed my child's hand and fled to this office. (I told the moving men to keep working, and ignored their eye ball rolls.) After explaining my situation, they moved into high gear, one going over my benefits, one pointing out new frames to my son, one handing me forms to sign. It was like the women had become gracefull ballet dancers at a Nut Cracker performance at Radio City Music Hall. The frames were chosen, the eyeballs measured, more tests were done. The dr. walked in clearly cheerful, experienced, and an expert in his field, and with high marks for performing an eye exam on a young man who cannot sit still. Obviously dilating was out of the question, because of the inability to hold still, and because of our warehouse home, so with a wink from the dr. to confirm these issues, a quick high tech photo was taken of the back of the eyes. Within the hour, which included my grandma driving, parking, braking for pedestrians large and small, we were back home. I salute this team who made our day a whole lot easier. They are professionals, they are sensitive, and they understand. And the glasses were made relatively quickly, and they were made very well. Certainly give 5 stars to this team!
