I have no complaints about the eye exam it was fine. It is very dated and old school but a typical eye exam. My complaint is with the time it has taken to receive my glasses. I ordered them 3 weeks ago or 15 business days. I was quoted 7-10 days. I keep calling and checking in on them. I keep being told it is a problem with the lab and they should be here in a few days. I have called every two days for the last two weeks. I get told the same story each time. I currently have no glasses to wear and I have been having to wear my contacts all day. Which in turn is causes headaches. I feel as though the people there don't care that it is taking so long to get my glasses in. They seem to just be content with the issues and time period it is taking. As a customer I am not. I have never been apologized to or had anyone relate to the problems I am having. It is extremely frustrating. I am very close to canceling my order asking for a refund and ordering some where else. read more

I brought in my prescription from my eye doctor, post cataract surgery. The eye glass person that I was working with, Jill, took all the glasses and sunglasses that I wanted changed to the new script and made sure the correct lens was replaced (as I had special instructions for certain pairs). Jill was very understanding as I had 6 pairs of glasses redone. I explained how after surgery I went from nearsighted to far sighted - she empathized with me regarding this change. Not impressed with the office or the optometrists. My younger son and I saw Ragsdale and although he was very personable, I don't feel he prescribed an accurate eyeglass prescription. When I went back for a check and stated that I couldn't see well he acted very surprised. I told him that when you ask me when I can read something vs when it is clear I am straining my eyes which gives me headaches. I had told him that straining my eyes was causing headaches at my first appointment. He did not retest or anything! I now have a bad prescription for my eyeglasses. He did adjust contact lens script to my previous prescription that I provided him with from another office and I am thankful for that. My older son saw the other provider at the office. It was the end of the day on the Friday before Christmas and he felt very rushed by both the optometrist and the staff. The technician selling him the glasses kept pushing him to what she liked. They were supposed to mail his glasses as he lives out of town. She also said she would fit the frames since we were having them mailed but did not fit them. This is only my son's second pair of glasses and he wasn't sure what all that entailed. When I reviewed with him and asked him about the fitting it was clear that this had not been done. Finally called the office today and guess what? The glasses are in but they hadn't called or anything to let us know! (Sounds like another review I read here). Then they told me they didn't mail them because I didn't pay for shipping! I stated that No one informed me of shipping costs. They acted like I was an idiot and said "of course we have to charge for shipping!" I should have been informed of costs related to shipping when we asked if it Was an option and they certainly should have called when they came; now maybe they should pay for my son's expenses to travel back here to pick them up! Also, Ragsdale had ordered two different sets of contact lenses for me to try to see which was more comfortable and the technician would not give me Both sets when I went to pick them up. Very inconvenient for me to go back and forth. She was not very kind or pleasant. Had to see Ragsdale again and told him what happened. His only reply was "Well if I was here I would've given them to you." The whole idea was for me to try both lenses and choose which lens was most comfortable. I heard him tell the office staff the plan and the tech insisted this was not possible when I was picking them up. I pushed back and she asked another person in the office "do you remember when Dr Ragsdale said she could only have one?" The co-worker actually said "No I don't remember that. I just remember that he wanted To order her two sets of trials". The technician still would not give me both. To top it off she then gave me the same ones I was previously wearing! Done with her at that point. Poor service with very rude technician and eye wear dispenser/fitter was not very organized. Limited hours hard for people who work to get there, no weekend hours and closed over the lunch hour. I understand that everyone was anxious to leave work at end of day on the Friday before the holiday but that is no excuse for not doing a good job and doesn't make up for all of the other issues. I loved Dr. Raffa. I haven't been a patient there in 3.5 years as I moved away to California. After having a bad experience here (that I'm still trying to resolve as I type this) it has me wishing I lived closer to Castle Rock! Dr. Raffa was always very thorough, patient, kind and answered all of my questions in detail. He is actually the best eye doctor I've ever had, and I've been wearing glasses for 45 years. His old staff was not typical; some of them seemed a bit rough around the edges by their appearances but were always cheerful & helpful. I had no problems with billing or anything else. While I can't vouch for his current staff, Dr. Raffa himself was absolutely wonderful. I miss him! read more

I first needed glasses in 4th grade, went to Dr. Raffa at the recommendation of family. It's been 16 years (wow! my first pair can drive!) since my first super-akward entry into fashion for the vision impaired and my first thought when I noticed that maybe I might need something for driving at night Dr. Raffa was the first person I thought of, even though I've moved 1000 miles away (and I'd actually consider making a special trip just to see him). I followed him through several offices and he walked me through multiple change in prescription, contacts, frames and eventually determined that LASIK would be a good fit (Dr. Raffa did the initial and follow-up and gave me a great referral to another wonderful doctor). If I lived in the Denver/Castle Rock area, I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

On or around August 20th 2022 my had an appointment at Founders Eyecare to have her eyes checked. Her eye sight prescription changed so she ordered new contacts and lenses. She loves the frames on her glasses so she left her frames to be fitted with her new lenses. She received the contacts in a timely manner however has waited over a month to receive her glasses. She has called many times to check on the delay. She was told repeatedly she would be contacted when they were ready. She is 18 years old and out of the state by now at college. My husband and I have been checking on the status of her glasses seeing they have dismissed my daughter. On one check in I was told her glasses were done but the lenses failed inspection. My husband was told that the machine that made the lenses was broken. After a month of waiting my husband received a call that the glasses were ready. He drove an hour to pick them up. We don't live close but we're under the false impression that this was a reputable eye care center. When my husband opened the box to look at my daughters glasses they were not her glasses. He was reassured those were the glasses my daughter ordered. Nope!!! They were NOT the frames she because she did not order frames. She brought them her frames. They then admitted they lost her frames. Apparently they didn't think we would notice. The frames they tried to pass off were ridiculous!!! My husband told them this was not acceptable so they said they would order her old frames and wouldn't charge us. Oh wow!!! How kind!!! You lost my daughters frames and would even debate charging us to replace them? Two more weeks and the glasses are allegedly ready. They say they want to ship them to my daughter, out of state as opposed to someone picking them up. I truly hope the glasses my daughter receives are satisfactory but that will remain to be seen. My family and I will not return to Founders Eyecare and I will not recommend this place to anyone!!! Save yourself a lot of time, money and stress by going somewhere else!!! read more

The hours this business is open are virtually useless to anyone with a job. They aren't open on the weekends and they close by 6 Monday through Thursday and 5 on Friday. Oh, and they're also closed over lunch. It doesn't matter how good their service is if they aren't available. I recommend going elsewhere for your optometry needs. read more

Purchased glasses from here and never wore them because they were too strong. When I asked to replace the lenses with my old (less powerful) prescription, they charged me $155 out of pocket after insurance discount. Expected that they would replace them at no charge or at least provide a discount. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Raffa for a few years, and though I only visit once a year he always treats me like he's known me forever. He's super knowledgeable and helpful, showing you all the crazy close-up images of your eyes so you can understand what he's looking for and how healthy things look. The rest of the staff is also very friendly, too. They recently moved to a new spot (at the other end of the hallway in the same building) and their new location is much nicer and bigger than their old office. If you need an eye doc in Castle Rock, give them a call - they're top notch. read more

Loved this office from the moment I walked in. Excellent customer service. It only got better as I had my eye exam with Dr. Ragsdale. He was very honest and explained why I was having so much difficulty with my current glasses, even though the rx gave me 20/20 vision. I was concerned that our small town office might not have a great selection of frames....Wrong! I got beautiful frames and they had a great selection and price range. I've seen a few optometrist never leave as happy as I left here, staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and my doctor was attentive and again knowledgeable and went over things that surprisingly were important to me about the health of my eyes. Wow, I wish I could go lower than one star. Very bad experience with this doc - the exam was so rushed that the doc skipped needed problems that I have with reading. I work on a computer and need computer specific glasses. Well I sure didn't get them from here. The perscription provied was incorrect and inadequate to say the least. I would recommend you STAY AWAY from this doc and practice! Speaking with the office manager after finding out how inadequate and incorrect the perscription was proved to be a total waste of time. Why is it that medical offices seem to always have the worst administrative staff? I've been visiting Founders Parkway Vision Center for at least 4 years now, but I think it's time to move on. I'd been getting eye exams and ordering contacts from them previously with no incident, but the last time I was in was for prescription glasses and it was such an unpleasant and frustrating experience that I don't plan on going back. After ordering the frame, I had to go back a few times since I had to have adjustments to the lenses made, and each time, I was never called when my glasses came in, I had to call them myself to follow up after the estimated wait times had elapsed (and yes, they were always already in, but did anybody bother to call and let me know that? Noooo...). The most frustrating was when I'd dropped off my glasses to have another adjustment made and was told to come back in 24hrs...I specifically gave them my mobile number to confirm they would be ready. Upon not hearing from anybody after 24+hrs (surprise!), I called to check the status (rather than waste a trip going in) just to be told that they weren't ready after all. Correction: the most frustrating part is that even after all these adjustments, my vision while wearing these glasses is STILL blurry, but...forget it, it's not worth the frustration to go back for more of this. read more

My whole experience started off GREAT. The ease in scheduling an appointment, filling out forms online, the office staff so welcoming and friendly... The technician doing some of the testing was knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. Then when it came to my time with Dr. Reggie Ragsdale he took the time to explained everything to me and it felt like I had been going to him for years. I can't think of ever having an eye doctor that I liked this much and he loves what he does, you can tell. When it came time to pick out glasses frames, they were there to help. You won't be disappointed if you go here for an exam or if you need new glasses, truly a wonderful experience. My husband and I had a wonderful experience with this office! We had to bring out almost 3 year old son since we came in on a weekday and the staff was so wonderful with him explaining everything as he was watching mommy from a chair (or standing there, you know toddlers). I was a patient of Dr. Raffa's for over a year and spent over $1500. I never received a pair of glasses or contact lenses that was satisfactory. Another optometrist examined three pairs of glasses I had purchased from Dr. Raffa and stated in writing on his corporate letterhead that all of them were completely unsatisfactory. Dr. Raffa was unwilling to provide any reasonable resolution. I have now been seeing a different optometrist and am totally satisfied. read more

Recently, when I ordered pair of glasses from Founders Parkwway Vision Center, my glasses came in but the packaging had been dmaged in shipping and the glasses were ruined. The staff at the center counldn't have been more apologetic. New glasses were ordered while I was still there! They arrived within a week of the new order.
