For over five years the VA has outsourced my eye care and I picked All About Eye Care since it was closer to me. Dr. Ruth is hands down the best optometrist I have visited and will recommend this business. They are fast when it comes to getting me my new glasses. The building where the eye clinic is was poorly maintained. I went into the office and things didn't look good there either. Some of the windows were boarded up, there was settled dust easily visible. I then met Dr. Ruth to look at my eye problem. She examined my eyes and said my vision was near ideal. Even though my vision was good, she kept pushing for me to get eyeglasses. Not feeling comfortable with being pushed for getting eyeglasses considering she just let me know I had good vision and negligibly addressing the problem I came in for, I went to another eye professional. The new staff mentioned I should get my eye problem fixed before getting an exam as my eye problem could affect my vision and promptly worked on fixing my eye problem. I have been going for 4 years now and my glasses have NEVER been made correctly the first time! I have finally learned (or had enough) that this is always the case and wont be going back! Dr. Ruth is the best doctor I have ever seen. She is so friendly and extremely thorough. She will answer any questions you have and explained everything in great detail, she wants to make sure you are extremely comfortable and that you understand everything. I hadn't had any noticeable changes in my vision and she happened to notice a hole in my retina sending me straight to a specialist. Thankfully we caught the hole in my retina early enough that I did not lose vision in my eye and they were able to fix the hole in my retina without any problems. Dr. Ruth Scholten Lellbach ("Dr. Ruth") is one of the best doctors to which I have ever been. She is kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and transparent. She helped me switch to a new brand of contacts when I first started going to her three years ago and I saved $100 by switching! Not many doctors help you find ways to save money. At my most recent visit, Dr. Ruth helped me switch yet again to other brand of contacts. The contacts I had been using were working just fine, but she suspected she had some that were even better (she was right). Rather then just send me on my way with a year's supply of contacts I hadn't used before, she gave me a trial pair to try for a week and I'll be going back (free of charge) for her to talk to me about how they're working. THAT'S great customer service. As I mentioned, I have been going to her for three years now and just this week they've switched to a new office (at the time I am writing this review the address on the Yelp profile is incorrect, FYI). Let me tell you, this office is GORGEOUS. Granite countertops, beautiful tile, nice looking wood.... A very classy place. Let's be real, going to the doctor isn't the most fun task, however, this is as good as it gets. read more

If you want an "optometrist/swindler" this is place to go. First off the cute eye technician was rude with zero customers skills. Second, if you are looking for an optometrist trying to milk your insurance company for every nickle and dime, you found the right business. Corrupt. Third, if you refuse an eye dilation "Dr." Ruth's demeanor changes immediately from a nice fake to an upset, money hungry physician. Fourth, she refused my request to keep the same brand of contacts I've been wearing for 30 years. She repeatedly stated "I'll try to get you the same brand.". I said "please I've been wearing proclear for 30 years". This is when I was ignored when I repeatedly stated "ma'am" three times and Ruth acted like I wasn't in the same room as her. She also repeatedly said "I know my body better than anyone else". Ruth if you meant that why did you ignore my request to keep the same brand that I know works best for me? I am a veteran and the VA will pay the bill and will be overcharged from her. I am going to do my best to get "All About Eyes" off the VA preferred list so the VA will no longer get scammed by this con artist. Also, when I mentioned I will be using my own insurance, VSP, here eyes lit up and I swear I saw money symbols in her pupils. Ruth, this establishment should be renamed "All Eyes on Me" because of your scandalous and fraudulent practice. To wrap up, if you are looking for an "Optometrist (I use this description lightly) that will ignore you, treat you with disrespect, and raise overall insurance deductibles this is the place to go! The only positive attribute this place has is the secretary up front. She is more professional than every other employee in the building. I left All About Eyecare after my first visit wondering why I bothered with vision insurance. I had just paid $80 for the exam and any possible follow-up contact fittings. That's AFTER they charged my insurance. But, I had a glasses prescription and and a pair of contacts to try out; so at least I was getting somewhere. I came back a couple weeks later because working on a computer with the contacts was torture. I was given two more contacts with different powers to try out in my left eye. I decided one was better than the other and ordered a box. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get a 6-month supply for what they cost. For whatever reason, It didn't occur to me at the time to have my glasses prescription updated since I had just changed my contact prescription. Obviously, it didn't occur to the Dr. either. So now I have a pair of glasses that give me a headache every time I wear them because one eye is a different power than in my contacts. I called the office to ask if they would adjust my eyeglass prescription to reflect what I had chosen to wear for contacts. I certainly didn't want to pay for a new pair of glasses; but, that was a better option than having glasses I couldn't use. The girl on the phone said my prescription was over 6 months old, so there was nothing they could do. I then brought the printed prescription they originally gave me to the office to show them that it was NOT over 6 months old. They decided they could fix the prescription... for an additional $40 fee. I would still have to purchase glasses after that and knew I could get a packaged deal for less somewhere else. So I left, feeling completely hustled. read more
