Unprofessional and unresponsive. I called initially to book an appointment with their FOVDR specialist and was told a technician would have to call me back. When I hadn't heard anything by the end of the day, I called back to follow up, only to be given the exact same response. Two days later, I still haven't received a call. They are gatekeeping care and ignoring follow-ups. If you have a specific vision need, don't waste your time waiting on them. For the past 14 months, I have been under the care of Dr. Jennifer Redmond, (optometrist), Denise Gibson (vision therapist) and Dr. Jeri Schneebeck (optometrist) at Highline Vision Center in Aurora, CO. My vision issues (strabismus and cyclotorsion causing double vision) were the result of a severe accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. I cannot give enough wonderful praises to these three incredible professionals for helping me get my life back. Both Dr. Schneebeck and Dr. Redmond have spent so much time to accurately assess my initial diagnosis and explain the injury to me. I have had regular progress checks which have resulted in new recommendations to continue my progress. Because Ms. Gibson is so knowledgeable, she has been a master at listening to me explain what has been occurring with my vision each week and providing exercises to help me return to my normal life. "After over 20 years as patients, my family and I are leaving this practice due to unacceptable care and extremely overpriced services. Two years ago, I received progressive lenses that were supposed to have a +1.50 near add and was charged for the progressive portion, even though the boost was wrong. As a first-time progressive wearer, I didn't realize the error until my son received his progressive lenses and he noticed a significant difference from his previous single vision glasses. When I raised the issue, the optometrist first admitted there was a tiny boost far below my prescription, and staff in the eye care center initially said the lenses were single-vision. When the manager insisted the glasses were correct, the staff then claimed they couldn't see the progressive lens because it was scratched(even though they were supposed to have had anti-scratch coating on the lenses)and implied that being able to see at all excused the error. The manager refused to fix the mistake, and when I said we would no longer return, there was no concern -- just 'OK, see you later.' We can no longer trust this practice and strongly caution anyone considering it." read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Doyle for a few years now and really appreciate his attention to my eye care. I am always comfortable when I go for my exam and Dr. Doyle has a very positive and compassionate chairside manner. I have never had any issue with making my appointments and I always get reminders (texts, emails and phone calls) of my appointment. Highline Vision will take most insurance. Call in advance to verify they are in-network. They have a great selection of frames, offer comforting solutions for dry eye and if they do not have a patient's contact prescription on hand, they will ship to your home at no cost. Take advantage of the Optomap versus eye dilation. Insurance doesn't cover the cost ($39) but it is faster and easier than eye dilation. read more

I told the doctor when I went in for my annual that I've been having SEVERAL issues with my vision, including squinting, jumping eyes, etc. I told him that ever since I've been in Colorado since 2022 unfortunately, every single place has told me that "my prescription is fine." And it's clearly not. I've had vision issues since I was 6, and I'm 29 now. In VA, my prescription changed every year even if it was slight. Ever since 2022, my vision magically "corrected itself and it's absolutely perfect" according to doctors here. I told the doctor at Highline that the reason I came to their office is because I really needed help that VisionWorks simply could not provide. He assured me that my prescription is exactly the same and no changes necessary. I have it a few months to test it out with new contacts in hopes that a fresher pack would help. It hasn't and I've been struggling with my vision. I called today for a follow up because I've tested out 3 new pairs since the visit and it's not working. They said "its been past 90 days so it's not a follow up and need to pay $129 for fittings." Why the hell would I come back to the same office, for them to "fit" me for the same EXACT PRESCRIPTION?!?!?! Being mindful I paid over $200 in July for a fitting and dilation that was completely unnecessary but required by their office, just to gouge me of money. Horrible customer service. Not helpful at all. Oh and my last appointment was 7/17, so today marks 91 days. But because we are 24 hours past my last appointment, I need to pay them again for ZERO HELP. Poor quality and incompetence, in summary, describes my wife's and My experience with this company. I don't deliver this description lightly as we were long term clients. However, after our recent four month debacle with this company be assured we will never return and we strongly suggest you avoid Highline Vision Center as well. My wife's issues included: incorrectly diagnosing needed prescription, wrong measurements on lenses, and incorrectly fitting glasses. After four months my wife had to get another exam and purchase new frames and lenses elsewhere. My issues included: incorrectly measurements for frame size, incorrectly measuring for lenses, wrong lens type. On the remake lenses did not include anti-glare as ordered, coatings wore off after a few week, and lenses were to be scratch resistant and lenses now have significant scratching in spite of using lens quality cleaning cloths purchased from optical stores. Update: business did reorder lenses and are scheduled to be replaced. I'm not sure this changes my rating or recommendation as this has overall been a very time consuming and largely negative experience. I will be reporting the doctor and assistant to the state board ....I've never been so disrespected and disappointed in an establishment in all my life until going into my 4 years olds eye exam yesterday. First when we walk in 20 minutes early to her appointment there's no hospitality or customer service from any employee I saw walking around everyone seemed like they hated being there not one smile on anyone's face, the assistant Faith from the beginning since she called my daughter and I back had the worse attitude by the way she spoke to us , the faces she made, the constant huffing and sighing every time my 4 year old cried or didn't answer a question. She was extremely impatient the moment she started the exam. She takes us to another room to measure my daughters glasses and look at her eyes on a machine and proceeds to get upset and says never mind after one attempt to get my daughter to focus and then she didn't even measure her glasses as needed. The assistant Faith then leaves the room leaving the door open I hear her saying " OMG SO ANNOYING, I can't take it" that's extremely unprofessional and disrespectful...We then wait for Dr. Jennifer Redmond for about 15-20 minutes all for her to come in and be completely unprofessional and inappropriate. She comes in terrible attitude and tone she starts snatching things out my daughters hand (her tablet, a toy, and her headphones) as if I'm not sitting there and she could have asked for me to take those things from her. My daughter is now upset because this so called doctor is being aggressive I'm attempting to calm my daughter down the doctor is getting upset because my daughter isn't cooperating to her liking WE ARE HUMAN SHES 4 years old! The doctor then says " oh you guys need to just get up and go take a walk and come back later" ....excuse me? You're telling me this establishment works with kids and you can't handle an exam for a 4 year old human child with compassion? I couldn't dare believe this was a kids Doctor or even a doctor with a job at that. There's so much more disrespect that happened during this appointment but people are paying you to do a job you all signed up to do nobody is forcing you to work or even work with children so be mindful and show some respect and customer service. There are soooo many optical offices for kids that are amazing and it's unfortunate we had to come here this year, so I would step my game up if I was Highline vision center because the standards, hospitality, management and skills from your staff are really slacking. read more

Highline is in the business of making money. Patient care is not their primary focus. This is not a place suited for young children. My family of 4 have spent thousands $$ at Highline over the course of about 4 years, on exams as well as vision therapy with little to no satisfaction for time or money invested. If you child is having vision issues, I'd suggest going to Children's Hospital Vision Center. No proper goal setting in therapy and so it was difficult to see what we were trying to achieve beside paying $135 per 45 minute sessions (2021) to tell my 4 year old to keep hopscotching. When improvements were not being made, they were happy to keep me on the schedule, but didn't seem as interested in getting RESULTS. It's logical to say Highline's in the business to make money, but it shouldn't be at the expense of dragging out a patents therapy. The main frustration with Highline: front desk staff (both offices). Front desk need training on how to answer phones, communicate to others in office and communicate with customers and particularly for Michelle (Vision Therapy front desk)... snide, middle aged woman with a hint of egotism. Better suited to sell jewelry at one of the boutique in the mall. So today, instead of calling Highline back to tell them a 3rd THIRD time, we are no longer patients there and we should be taken off ANY and ALL future appointments, I'm writing here on Yelp to suggest to you fine people reviewing Vision centers to to look elsewhere. read more

Dr. Doyle was so supportive during my visit as I had come in for a second opinion for Macular Degeneration (I had recently been diagnosed from a different clinic who accepted our new insurance). He did further testing and I had seen him in the past, so he had past scans to compare. I do not have macular, but rather,(if I remember correctly) a variation in pigment, which he'd previously seen. I was so relieved and will continue to come to this clinic even if we have to pay out of pocket. We have been coming to Highline since our oldest was 5 (she's 22 now). When she was little, her vision therapy there was literally life changing. We became loyal patients after that. Since then, they've built a fancy new building and the mission has obviously changed. The focus used to be on the patients and delivering quality care. Now it seems to be an assembly line exam full of sales with big markups. I swear, for our family of four I'm never sure if we're being recommended for what we need or what they need for sales. Yesterday was the last visit for any of us. My daughter needed contacts. Her usual annual visit. In the past she's ordered her contacts there because it wasn't too much higher priced there and the convenience was worth it. Not this time! She called to tell me the contacts would be $330 AFTER our insurance was applied. I just couldn't believe it. It is the same contact she's been in for a couple of years, so what is the difference now? I told her to cancel the order because that seems like too much. Sure enough, it was. I called Costco and there the exact same contacts for a year are $260 BEFORE insurance, so $130 after our insurance was applied. Plus, there's even an additional rebate right now as an extra bonus. I understand the need for some profit margins, I really do, but a $200 difference after insurance for the exact same product? That's not just a profit, that's greed. Not only am I annoyed for our family, what I find more offensive is how it impacts others. How many patients there go without what they actually NEED due to the excessive markups at Highline? Shame on you Highline Vision Center. Shame on you for focusing more on $$$ and less on patient care. Even more, shame on you for getting so greedy that people may have to go without things they actually need. For so many years I referred everyone to this practice because we trusted them. I drove all the way there to be told the doctor was out and I couldn't be seen. The front desk could not have possibly cared less. Speaking of the front desk... they said they tried to call and email. I had no calls or emails. Apparently the person who entered my appointment didn't type anything right. It was a complete waste of my time. There are other reviews about last minute cancellations too so who knows if they even tried to call/email. WARNING! I chose Highline as my new eye dr based on their awesome ratings online, which are very undeserved and misleading. In an attempt to get contact lenses for the first time in my life, at Highline, I was met with nothing but a huge waste of time, waste of money, and a waste of my eye insurance. My Experience w/ Highline Vision Center in Aurora: More often than not they didn't have contact lens trials already in the office that were the correct prescription for me. I tried several different contacts, in the couple of months of working with them on trying to find contacts that would work properly for me. With each trial they wanted to order me a stronger prescription. It took them, on average, two weeks, sometimes more and rarely less, each time I was supposed to try a new trial of contacts, for them to actually get the contacts ordered and delivered to the office so that I could pick them up and try them out. Every contact lens trial that I waited several weeks for turned out very blurry and uncomfortable. Outrageously terrible communication from the staff to the patients, as well as between the staff members themselves. On several occasions they never returned my calls when I would leave a voice message because they couldn't answer the phone at the time that I had called. They never called me back as promised once I finally got a hold of someone. "Let me ask Dr So-and-So and I'll call you right back." was the typical response. On way too many occasions, at least half a dozen, I waited over a week or more for a return phone call with no avail. I was then forced to call them, and every time they would still not have the sought after information available. Rarely did I actually receive a phone call to notify me that my contact lens trials were delivered to the office and ready to pick up, as they told me they would do. After a couple of weeks I would end up calling them only to find out that the contacts were actually there waiting for me. One time when I called to check if my trials had been delivered yet I was told by one woman that they weren't in yet, but then told by someone different that they actually were in and ready for pick up. On many occasions I would be told one thing by one staff member, and later told something completely different, even contradictory, regarding the same matter by a different staff member. They would set an appointment with me over the phone to only call me back ten minutes later to cancel and reschedule for several weeks further out. I would also show up at the office for a pre-scheduled appointment only for them to cancel my appointment the moment I walked in the door. One of the last contact lens trials I tried actually worked pretty well for me but when I was informed of the ridiculous price of those particular contacts, I told one of the receptionist girls and Brenda, the contact lens "specialist", that they were way out of my price range and that I'd like to continue trying to find cheaper contact lenses that will work for me. I was then bombarded with emails from them that were trying to get me to order those lenses that I had told Highline that I couldn't afford. Upon reaching out to Brenda to clear up whatever confusion there was about this she informed me that my time limit to try to find contact lenses had expired, and if I wanted to continue my search further then I would have to pay all over again. I want to be clear that I was never informed until then of such a timeline. Dr Jeri, during my annual eye exam, attempted to convince me to get an unnecessary procedure done that was not covered by my insurance, I would have had to pay out of pocket for it, and that I absolutely did not need. When I declined to submit to having the unnecessary procedure done she repeatedly pressured me to do it during my appointment. She continued to hound me about it, acting to be caring, but at the same time treating me as if I was incompetent to manage my own healthcare. After several failed nagging attempts Dr Jeri finally complied with my declining, only when I promised to give her the contact info of my old eye dr to have my medical records forwarded to Highline to prove I didn't need the procedure and that I also be required to sign a waiver releasing Highline of any responsibility for my eye health. In all my dealings with the staff at Highline Vision Center I was originally convinced that they beyond severely lacked customer service skills, but now I'm concluding that it was nothing more than greed. All of the failed communication attempts, or lack there of. All the weeks spent in waiting for trials to come in and never being notified when they were. All the phone calls never returned. All the misinformation. All the confusion was just an attempt to buy time until they could get more money out of me and/or my insurance company. There are only two possible conclusions. Either they are grossly incompetent, or they are greedy beyond measure. read more

I'm a fan of the actual doctors at Highline Vision. However, the service for optical glasses/contract is sub-par. After attending for an appointment, I had to leave prior to getting new glasses because their billing system had errors but was told to call to schedule a time for tomorrow. Upon calling I was told I couldn't be fit in for 3 weeks. I communicated that if I knew that I wouldn't have left and asked to return (it had been 20 minutes). I was told the soonest I could get in was a week later, and was not provided a clear answer on why I couldn't return given optometry patients are supposed to be granted time to get eye wear. Doc recommended a new brand of contact which I'm enjoying and the optician took her time with me, making sure I was completely satisfied with the frames I chose. Life changing! Dr. Doyle and his staff were/are absolutely amazing....I mean like Grade A service. I went there to get my routine eye exam and new prescription, and they recommended these new Scleral contacts. Mind everyone reading, I have not used contacts for a few years (bc of Keratoconus in eyes), and I hated the hard contacts. So he put these in my life and BOOM!!!... there World is a very different place. Along with the amazing service (truly!!...no joke, it's excellent, like a 5 Star hotel or restaurant) they have an amazing selection of the Top brands (Maui Jim, Oakley, Ferragamo, Prada, etc etc). I'm so torn of if I should or shouldn't recommend Highline Vision. I have been taking my boys there for almost 10 years. We started going there because my oldest was born with a cataract in his eye. We were referred to Highline by the eye surgeon. Later, my youngest was diagnosed with Autism and the staff and especially Dr. Redmond were wonderful dealing with his special needs. I continued to take my kiddos there because I trusted Dr. Redmond and felt confident that my kids were getting great care. However, a few years ago my husband started to question the amount we were paying for the glasses. I brushed off his concerns because I had a good relationship with the staff and even though I thought the prices were expensive, I didn't think that going anywhere else would be that big of a difference. This year my husband challenged me to get the prescriptions at Highline and see Dr. Redmond but to go somewhere else for the actual glasses. What an eye opening experience! We went to Costco and were able to get 3 pairs of glasses for $240. I was paying close to $600 for 1 pair of glasses at Highline. I feel completely taken advantage of. Not sure I'll be taking my kids back. read more

I wasn't impressed with their customer service skills. The front desk staff acts like you are a burden, and yes the appt time is not the actual time you will be seen. I had to call and set up another appointment to try a different pair of contact lenses and the person who answered the phone was RUDE, asked me what was wrong with the current ones I am trying. After moving to south Aurora I was looking for a new Optometrists, and I was impressed by the reviews and driving by their office (both their old location and their new one). My wife and I have been their patients for more than two years (so we are taking two years of service into account) the Doctors are first rate (which props up the overall rating) but the front desk and the customer service staff will be their downfall. It's strange the first people to interact with are the front desk staff and the act "Put Out" that you walked in the door. Appointments are always late (that might be because the doctors are spending more time with the patients than they are scheduled for.) Both years the Customer service staff read our benefits wrong, messed up in ordering contacts and glasses, for my wife and I, they quickly ordered replacements and one year it took three trys to get the prescription correct. I would recommend Highline IF you dont mind: 1. Waiting for your appointment. 2. The rudeness. 3. Have the willingness to make multiple trips back to the office to deal with the mistakes they make. But... when I call to TRY and schedule an appointment with the front office staff and it takes 15 minutes that is a serious problem. What is even worse is when I call the day of my appointment to confirm the time I am told there is no appointment in the system for me. New employee or not (I am almost positive the woman who took my appt was new) I don't believe it's rocket science to sit at a computer and schedule appointments. read more

Dr.Doyle is absolutely amazing. He's very helpful and responsive. Unfortunately, this office does not seem to be run very well. I have made the same appointment multiple times only to have it pushed back at the absolute last second every time. This last time, I was actually in the building after arriving 10 minutes EARLY only to have my appointment cancelled because the front office didn't bother to verify my insurance at all ahead of time. My insurance is new, so called an hour before my appointment to give them the information that they didn't even look at until I got into the office. I even told them I was okay paying out of pocket if my insurance couldn't be figured out, but I was still told I needed to reschedule. I was treated as a late appointment even though I was more than on time. This was only my breaking point with the practice. This office books appointments weeks out, so I have been very hesitant to wait another 3 weeks only to have my appointment cancelled AGAIN because I just don't trust that I'll ever be able to be treated at this practice. I immediately found another doctor who is able to see me within the week, so I will not be back to Highline again. read more

The doctor's and staff at Highline are outstanding. We have been going to Highline for 4 years and have never once had anything other than exemplary service from every member of their team. My entire family goes to Highline and they have treated and solved many issues with our sight, including getting our 9 year old into a treatment program that has virtually eliminated the worsening of her sight. They have treated us for regular exams as well as eye infections, injuries and eye therapy that improved our sons reading speed and comprehension. I would recommend Highline with no reservations. The doctor and her assistant were pretty nice, however I was not made a priority after I was left sitting in a room for over 10 minutes while there was a empty office outside and when I got tired of waiting and try to leave the lady that was helping me check out was pulled aside by another man even though she was obviously helping me because I'm obviously in a rush and obviously don't want to wait any longer. So I sit there while every other customer gets their smallest complaints tended to while I'm literally in a rush with my dogs sitting in a cage at home. We have used Highline Vision Center for many years, it has always has been a bit problematic with the optical department, poorly trained optical employees, incorrect information sent to the lab by optical employees and frequent errors with the glasses prescriptions once received. The latest service was deplorable, after waiting over six weeks they made another error with the most recent prescription. They were unwilling to correct the error without additional money for new glasses. This is not the first time this has occurred. I had trouble getting them to return my calls. I got through to their Office Management and shared my concerns, the woman I spoke with could not have cared less, very disappointing. I would steer clear and avoid the headache. read more

I was referred to High Vision because my usual optometrist was closed due to COVID. I initially called and got an estimate on what it would cost me because I was paying out of pocket. The gentleman said it would be about $260 and could go up to $500 if there is a medical reason, but assured me it wasn't normally the case. I was comfortable with the estimate compared to what I normally pay so went ahead and booked an appointment for my daughter. On the initial consult, she was very happy with the eye doctor and exam. I paid an amount of $253. After two weeks of not hearing from Highline, I called to find out when we would be receiving the contacts. The lady then told me that I need to pay an additional $288 for training! I was shocked. This additional cost was never mentioned in my initial call. I have always used contact lenses and have never paid a training cost. I called multiple times and received no call-backs. Eventually I spoke to a lady and she basically said, if you don't pay the amount, you don't get the contacts. I was so upset as I had planned to receive the contacts in a timely manner and according to a budget. There was no compassion or sensitivity to my request. Because I knew non-the-wiser, I reluctantly paid the $288 for the "training" and my daughter said it took about 15 minutes. To cut a long story short, I will never go back there or recommend them to anyone. I feel so cheated and ripped off. $541 and my daughter has a sample pair of contacts!! read more

I had the last 2 exams at High line. The optometrist was fine but the rest of the staff was not very friendly or helpful. The first year I transitioned from glasses to contacts. That meant that I saw only Brenda. It took several weeks but eventually got the right prescription. Ordered from the office but when I needed the second set I found out they charged twice as much as most everyone else with worse service. The second year I asked to try hard contacts as recommended by a different provider since I have astigmatism. They ordered my first pair and I could not hardly see . Went back 2 weeks later, had another fitting and was told I would get a new pair in about a week. After 6 days I received a call on a Tuesday from someone that seemed to know very little. I was told that they were still in discussions with the lab and they would give me a update by the end of the week. I asked what the problem was but she had no idea. I waited another 10 to 12 days without ever hearing anything. I finally emailed Brenda that I wanted my money back because I had not been advised about what was going on. She had told me I could return them for a refund within 60 days and it had been about 6 weeks at this time. I got an email back immediately telling me to bring the lenses back as soon as possible. I did so and was refunded for the lenses but not the $60 charge for a fitting exam. No apologies, no explanations, no information at all was given. When I went in for my refund I was treated very poorly as well. A week later I went to order lenses from a different provider and found out that they had not notified my insurance that I had returned the lenses so I could not use my benefits since it was still showing I had already purchased some for this benefit period. It took 3 days for the insurer to get a response from the office and reinstate my eligibility. I have worked in healthcare for 25 years and this is the worst care I have ever received. read more
