Got me a sample pair in quickly and went above and beyond to do this for me as my contacts were on back order.

This morning, I woke up feeling incredibly grateful. I'm blessed in so many ways, but today I…read morewanted to express particular gratitude for Dr. Janice Jared, my optometrist. You might think it's not a big deal to get fitted for contact lenses, but I had a unique situation. I was diagnosed with keratoconus several years ago. As a result, I had to undergo eye surgery for both eyes--one at a time. It wasn't just a standard surgical procedure; it required donor tissue to treat the disease through corneal transplants. After being on the waiting list for several months, I was able to get the transplants. My vision was restored from being legally blind to something incredible, though still not 20/20. I never experienced 20/20 vision. Going forward, I would require the aid of custom toric contact lenses to achieve the best possible results. As I've aged, these lenses became more difficult to fit due to changes in my eyes over time. It takes real skill and patience to get a proper fit. Before meeting Dr. Jared, I saw an eye doctor in Cherry Creek. She tried to fit me for lenses, but the first set was a no-go. The second set didn't work either. Eventually, as I sat in her chair, she nervously laughed and said it was the best she could do. So, I went back to wearing glasses. While I don't mind glasses, they don't correct my vision as well as lenses, given the shape of my eyes. Lenses that sit on top of the eye help shape it a bit better. As fate would have it, I ended up at the Mayfair Vision Clinic, headed by Dr. Jared. She was able to fit me with custom toric lenses that gave me the best vision I'd had in a long time. Fast forward to just over a year ago: it was time for new contact lenses because the ones I had were disposable. It turned out that the company that made the lenses I relied on went out of business, and no one else produced lenses with the same specifications. While they call them custom toric lenses, they're not truly custom--you can choose from a number of parameters, but you can't specify exactly what you need. So, we embarked on a journey together. Visit after visit, trial lens after trial lens, Dr. Jared never gave up. Each time I went in, she gave me a thorough eye exam, checking the lenses for fit and acuity. She was calm, always professional, and most of all, committed to giving me the best vision possible. I lost track of how many visits we had. Each time, the order would take a few weeks to arrive, only for us to find that the fit wasn't right--again and again. Despite this, I was never asked to pay for all the visits. When I asked if she was getting paid, she said yes, as she was able to bill insurance as a medical necessity. After this long journey, I'm incredibly grateful to say I picked up my new lenses yesterday, and they fit comfortably! I can now read the characters on the 20/20 line! I am so grateful, and this couldn't have come at a better time, as I'm preparing for my upcoming photography expedition to Malaysia. If you need an excellent eye doctor, you'll now find Dr. Janice Jared at Eye Envy in Aurora, just off Buckley and Alameda.

My husband and I had our eye exams on May 19 and 20, and ordered our glasses at that time. My glasses finally came in five weeks later. My husband's took 7 weeks--and were completely wrong and unusable. They said they would "rush order" a new, correct pair, but now it's July 23 and nobody knows where the glasses are, or even a rough timeline of when to expect them. I like to support small, locally-owned businesses, but this is just not acceptable in any way, shape or form.

Plenty of parking at this location with great hours, even evenings & weekends. I called ahead & was told no appointment was needed to get new lenses for eyeglass frames that I already had. I arrived on a late Sunday morning & was greeted & checked in right away. I waited about five minutes before being called. Since my prescription was on file it only took ten minutes to get what I needed & pay. As promised my eyeglasses were ready for pickup in two weeks. My eyeglasses fit & look great. They also have an Eyecare Club & an offer to get 2 Pairs of Glasses & an Eye Exam for $89. America's Best provided good service with reasonable prices.

No further info on his scan results. Ended up leaving there without glasses, because they could not answer all his questions regarding the Meta glasses. Prices online were much lower than the store displayed and no one could explain why. 2 days later... We go to another optometrist office and they tell him not only are his cataracts severe, he also has bleeding behind the retina due to diabetes and high blood pressure. America's Worst, did not mention those at all. Bleeding behind the retina is very dangerous and he is being referred to a retina specialist, then to get the cataracts removed. If you value your sight, Do not go to this business.

The manager's name was Nicole and she was less than welcoming. I am disabled and in an electronic cart and she was made because I was blocking the way. When she finally talked to me, I described what I wanted and told her that my insurance will pay for everything and I get this benefit once a year. I was well past the last time that I had gotten my previous glasses. She argued with me and said that I would not be able to afford any frames. This went on for at least 1/2 hour. I was so distressed because I really need the new glass after having surgery. Bottom line was that she asked me about add-on items, and if I said I didn't need them, i.e. tinted lenses, I declined. Then she told me to go look at frames and she showed me one partition with about 30 frames. She said that's all my insurance would cover. That's a bold-faced lie. I've had this exact same insurance since 2012. I like pink frames and there was only one in the store. So I tried them on and took them to her. She was measuring me and said that the person making the glasses could not use those frames! Finally I did find pink frames but when I brought them to her she quoted me $100 extra. I have never been so mad. It was like I was being robbed. So yesterday my husband and I went to pick up the glasses, well over a month later. Nicole did not call me, no one did. I called there and they said I never answer the phone, another lie. I am elderly and disabled and I'm almost always at home. Next the lady that was helping me came out with a pair of huge lenses and frames that were olive green!!!!! Nothing about this was right. Oh did I mention that I had to pay in advance and I was charged $220??? This lady argued with me and told me if I didn't want the glasses (that looked like puke), I would not get my money back. So now what? I am demanding payment from you for $5,000 and I don't want you to make my glasses. My name is Trudi Shaw, 1953 S. Ivory St., Aurora, CO 80013. My husband was with me both times so don't think you're getting away with this. Our home phone is (303) 671-2758. By the way, when I called them and asked where my glasses were, she said they could never reach me. I asked her when I was in the store what number they were calling and it was absolutely not our number.

She seems to really know her stuff and was very efficient as well. The thing that I think is resulting in the bulk of the negative reviews here is the staff (like, the people that work in the shop but are not involved in giving the exam). I do not wear glasses but needed to order contacts, and that went fine. However, another couple was in ordering glasses and the woman working had to call the other man over several times to figure out the ordering system or something. It seemed just like there were lots of issues if you don't come in knowing exactly what you want. No issues surrounding checking out for me though. I would totally recommend making an appointment with the doctor, getting a copy of the prescription, and then ordering glasses or contacts from another company/website.
