Had an appointment for 9:15. I received 3 reminder texts to be on time, which I was. After waiting 30 minutes without being seen, I left.

I had droopy eyelids. It was upsetting to see them worsen over the years, especially my left lid. I…read morelooked lopsided in photos, and I grew increasingly self conscious. My local optometrist in Wyoming examined me and said that the left lid was affecting vision. It looked bad enough to consider surgery using my heath insurance. She recommended Dr. Michael McCracken in Parker, CO, south of Denver. I drove four hours to consult with Dr. McCracken. He and his staff welcomed me to their beautiful office, and gave me a thorough exam to determine my vision limitations. They explained the process of submitting the exam results to my insurance company and also told me what to expect if I decided to go forward with the procedure. I also had concerns about my right eyelid. The doctor explained that, while not as droopy as my left lid, it was deteriorating. He recommended fixing it and balancing my eyelids. The cost of fixing the right lid was reasonable, and for me, totally worth not looking lopsided anymore! Day of surgery, I was understandably nervous. The staff and Dr. McCracken could not have been more reassuring. I took my prescribed sedative one hour before the surgery, and I was only vaguely aware of what actually happened. Recovery was a little rough because of expected swelling and bruising, but I followed directions and healed up nicely. Two follow-up visits were included, and I drove down to the Denver area and enjoyed myself after my appointments. I now have much better peripheral vision, and I look great! Highly recommend Dr.McCracken!

Also at the in-person consultation, when I asked about the possibility of doing a midface lift as well as a lower bleph, Dr. McCracken said "well you're not going to be on the cover of Vogue"--I guess he was trying to manage my expectations but it actually really hurt my feelings and stuck with me. I certainly did not express that I wanted to be on the cover of Vogue so it sort of felt like he was calling me ugly.

My time is as valuable as the doctor's time. The doctor's technician, Tommi Gunn, (yes, that's her name) was very professional. Her style of putting the patient at ease was outstanding. She's "a keeper"!

Both Insight Vision Group (ophthalmology) and Associated Eyecare (optometry) are the most…read moredisorganized businesses with whom I've ever dealt with in my home state of Colorado, even worse than UCHealth/CU Medicine, which is truly a low bar. Associated Eyecare: - In 2025, I saw Dr. Pethe, who was wonderful, and who released my medical records to the portal like a normal doctor, immediately after my appointment, on the same day, with no follow-up required, and he printed out my new prescription for glasses - In 2026, this week, on Wed 9/9, first receptionist Noemi failed to call me to alert me that Dr. Pethe had left this practice (no wonder why!) *MONTHS AGO*. Instead, I found out during my 24-hour in advance reminder call, not the proper communication, but Noemi single handedly called me to "remind" me of my appointment with Dr. Maleeka Bokhari, who I had no idea who she was, or that Dr. Pethe had left the practice, and this wasn't even a proper communication of the *PROVIDER CHANGE*! This forced me to waste my time on Tue 9/8 calling back, to understand what was going on. Then, Noemi lied about me - on CCTV (conveniently she walked to the back office, without CCTV, to lie about me, to Alma & Joe, where Noemi told Alma that I allegedly [incorrectly] "refused to sign an intake form," when in fact I was begging Noemi to stop wasting my appointment time talking, to let me see/sign the intake forms, and to get the show on the road, so I wouldn't be late to my ophthalmology appointment nextdoor with Dr. Stephanie Muylaert). Noemi delayed my appointment by 40-minutes, after I arrived 12-mins late, which she turned into 40-minutes, negatively impacting me - the paying customer/patient, as well as Dr. Muylaert. Then I heard Alma outside my room talking negatively about me, victim blaming me, the paying patient/customer, for Noemi's/Alma's mistakes, as I explained to Joe. On top of all this, I called this office *THREE TIMES* today, given they still have failed to release my medical records to the portal, 2-days later, which Dr. Pethe did last year, same day, as did Dr. Muylaert. Then I had to call back multiples time on Friday 9/11, with Andrea, to fix what happened on Wednesday 9/9, which should've been done correctly the first time, while Andrea hung up on me/transferred me, or otherwise passed the buck, wasting my time today & on Wednesday, forcing me to do her, Andrea's, Alma's, and Noemi's job for all three women, as I'm now on the phone with the manager, Emma. Insight Vision Group: - In 2025, I went to great lengths to update Dr. Muylaert on my medical history/medications, to establish care, as I left UCHealth/CU Medicine. - In 2026, Dr. Muylaert's team failed to ask me about/correct/update my medications list, impacting my medical care, and Dr. Muylaert failed to communicate new medical changes/ICD-10 codes to me, which I learned about through my medical records, requiring a follow-up appointment, wasting my time further. At this point, I'm about ready to report to Aetna to refund Aetna's/my money, as well as report to DORA/the CO Medical Board, as this medical practice is a huge hot mess. Now I get to work over the weekend - 1/2 a business day - because Noemi, Alma, and Andrea forced me to babysit them for *FOUR BUSINESS HOURS TODAY* after *TEN FAILED OPPORTUNITIES TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES ON TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, TODAY ON FRIDAY 9/11/26, the 25th commemoration of 9/11*, after I gave them *THREE OPPORTUNITIES ON WEDNESDAY* to fix their mistakes since 7/31, when Dr. Pethe left the practice, which they also failed on Tue 9/8, causing Emma, their manager, and I to have to waste *ONE HOUR* of my business day today - and weekend, due to economics opportunity cost - to do all of their jobs for them, which Emma is finally: 1) fixing / solving, sending me my medical records from optometrist Dr. Bokhari 2) teaching Noemi, Alma, and Andrea basic customer service, which I was taught age 11-21.

Went into the Littleton office for an extensive eye exam…read more The whole setup went incredibly efficiently, going from one exam to another with little time in between. Tara and Casey explained exactly what was going to happen and were very informative, pleasant and professional. Dr Hovland (who unfortunately will be retiring this summer) has a wonderful "bedside" manner. He was very approachable and took his time explaining exactly what he saw and how he arrived at his diagnosis. He took his time with me and answered all my questions, including going into detail what are the next steps. His assistant, Lexi, even wrote down for me the notes of the exam that I can take home and show to my wife. This was a very impressive experience and I highly recommend this practice for eye issues!

Our only issues were with the holiday weekend, doors locked etc. Luckily, we always had a number we could call to get in! The surgeon and staff working on call on Easter weekend saved my husband's eyesight and thought nothing of working the holiday weekend! They mentioned it was busy, but these dedicated professionals were there for us. We had everything we needed to go home for the rest of the weekend and by day 2, my husband felt much better.
