BUT, let me tell you, that Bahram (owner) was so friendly and responsive, that this is the reason why I will call Altap again should I need any help in the future. Had Altap (Bahram and his team) work on installing kitchen recess lighting and also had my old subpanel replaced. He mentioned that my old panel might be prone to fire and best to get that replaced. The cost was very competitive and you can tell they know what they are doing when doing the electrical work. 8 cans of recess lighting done in about 1.5 hours. Much faster than i thought, but then, as i said, they know what they are doing. Also patched up the ceiling. Sub panel took about 4 hours with 2 person working on it. Bahram is very pleasant to work with and they are on time and left the place clean. I would definitely recommend him for your electrical work. read more

The only thing is that if you are picky about where you want your lights (like I am) - you have to let them know. After another electrician put in LED flood lights in my back yard, he told me that the electrical panel was in bad shape and recommended I look into replacing it. At that point he gave me a quote that seemed on the high side. I went onto Yelp and found another two electricians and asked for quotes to upgrade the electrical panel and to see if they too recommend I replace the panel. I eventually decided on ALTAP Electrical because of the stellar reviews and their price was very competitive. I emailed Bahram and he sent me a contract to sign and the process was on it's way. Bahram took care of the permits, PG&E hookup and the city inspector. I just watched as everything went smoothly. Bahram arrived on the appointed day with two of his employees. The power was off at 8:30 AM and back on at 2:30 PM. They needed to get to the crawl space to run the ground wire and to fix a small problem with the sheetrock, both times they came into my house they wore booties over their shoes and put down tarps on the carpets from the front door to the crawl space door. I solicited 3 quotes to install a ChargePoint level 2 Ev charger in my detached garage. Bahram's quote was the least expensive. He has excellent Yelp ratings, which I relied on to assure myself that he would do an excellent cost effective job. Bahram put my job on his schedule, and came promptly with an assistant. He put down protective plastic and paper in my house to a avoid making a mess. The job entailed working in the crawl space, adding a cable to my interior electrical panel, rearranging the circuit breakers, routing the new cable to my garage in a way that would not be visibly obvious, installing a new panel and outlets in my garage, and installing the charger. Bahram did this work quickly, cleanly, and efficiently. He caulked the holes he had to make in the exterior wall, and patched the plaster he disturbed near my electrical panel. I touch-up painted the affected wall and the new conduit using left-over exterior paint. The installation works and looks great. I recommend Altap without reservation. read more

I was looking for a reliable contractor to install Nema outlet to connect my Level 2 EV charger. After checking Yelp reviews I decided to move forward with Bahram and his team. Bahram inspected my electrical panel, discussed possible issues and provided me with a fair estimate. He scheduled an installation day/time with me and arrived on time along with his team. The team routed around 80 ft of 6 gauge romex wire through the roof, connected it to control panel and placed an outlet on the outside wall of my house (I am not using garage as it was remodeled into extra bedroom). They also mounted the EV charger with no extra charge although it was not covered by the estimate. Power was only turned off for about 10 minutes while the new wire was connected inside the panel so didn't cause me any trouble. The job took around 3 hours overall and included zero hassle. I highly recommend ALTAP Electric as a reliable contractor. My only nit-pick is it took about a month from our initial conversation with Bahram until installation date. That's certainly not because he is ignoring the customer but rather has a lot of projects going on. 5 stars! read more
