Wrong site Mohs surgical procedure performed on me! When I pointed it out the surgeon she had the worst excuse ever. The dermatologist performed an EDC on the correct site which makes me believe that's what should have happed in the first place. They even charged my insurance company for there error. I'm going to another dermatologist now!! No brainer. read more

Check-in was easy. It was all electronic and took 5 nimutes. The dermatologist was attentive as I described the spots of concern on my leg. She looked at those spots and determined that they were of no concern. I was out in 15 minutes. There was a co-pay, but it was a small price to pay for peace of mind. read more

As a very long time patient, I was a bit concerned about the negative reviews. Over the past couple years, I realized most were pretty accurate. I called to make an appointment for a check up and prescription review. Pretty basic stuff. After being on hold, I was given no option to remain on hold or leave a message for a call back. I just wanted to schedule an appointment. I called twice to make an appointment and no one called me back. Do yourself a favor and just save time and frustration and look for another doctor/ dermatologist. Obviously they are doing so well that they can just let established patients walk out the door and go elsewhere. Doctor's are great. Office staff is horrible and don't care, whether ignoring your call or treating you like cattle in the office. I'm sad because the doctors probably have no idea what is happening up front. I went for a yearly checkup and saw the PA, Tracy. Good communications before the appointment, I like the portal and that I could fill out all the paperwork at home (would have preferred to do everything on the portal, but it's a start!) Normal wait time, maybe 15 minutes, and another thing I appreciated is the person who brought me in went over my chart immediately instead of making me sit and wait for someone else. Tracy came in just a few minutes later and again, I loved that she gave me options and then immediately proceeded to do the procedures that we decided on, instead of the usual in and out most medical facilities make you deal with. Tracy is very personable and positive, it was a pleasure to meet her and the staff. Good recommendations on skin care products and after care. read more

Worst care I have ever received from a dermatologist. Went for spots all around my eyes, Dr. Jeffy took a small sample of one spot, and sent it for testing. It took over 3 weeks to get the results, and I had to call, myself, three different times. The results were given to me by a person I have never spoken to, and knows nothing about my condition. The answer Dr. Jeffy came up with to correct the spots all over my eyes is, of course, not covered by insurance because it was, as she said, considered cosmetic. Disgusted by the office, and the professionalism I experienced. Will be looking for a qualified dermatologist, and a second opinion. read more

My first visit was A+ My second visit went south as soon as I checked in, the older lady with the grey hair yelled at me twice, less than a stellar welcome. When taken to the back I was greeted by a young female assistant who was rude and misinformed by I assume the doctor Stephen Kessler, why I was there, she stood there reading off her I-Pad, everything was wrong, I wasn't there for anything to do with Skin cancer, my referral specifically states Psoriasis, the whole reason I was there. I was to start an injectable Skyrizzi, communication was horrible, efforts on their part was almost zero, this caused a delay along with other factors getting the medication dispensed, so the doctor had me suffer with a severe condition for two months, unacceptable ! Then the physician named above thought to give me my next appointment for August 18 2024, further suffering, I thought I was in the Twilight Zone, so Mr Kessler entered the examining room and suggested I cancel for today and just suffer further without medication, after conferring with his young female assistant, the assistant was fresh out of school and I'll be damned if she's going to make medical decisions for me. I then explained to the doctor about the less than stellar welcome I received, he cared nothing about it. I then pointed to a cyst on my neck, aka an infection, yes infection's have been known to kill people, he said see you in August, now I'm really agitated, he gave me a prescription for a medication to hold me over, was supposed to be compounded, which I had to supply one of the ingredients, it took his office one full week to get the prescription correct for the out of state pharmacy to fill it, in the meantime his assistants called my prescription into Walmart, but told me it was coming from a pharmacy out of state, the cost for the prescription at Walmart was double of the other place. So a week and a half later I received the prescription in the mail with no mixing instructions and to make matters worse, the prescription doesn't work at all and on top of it the doctor charged me full for the office visit, he said he was canceling. I then called his office, canceled my August appointment and confirmed I wouldn't be returning. If you have deep pockets and like shoddy care, this place is for you. They deserve zero stars, so but for their ignorance, I must now begin the whole process over again. In my professional opinion, I'd pass on this crap show, your health is too important. read more

I've now been coming here for 40 years. Dr. Kessler Sr. Has always been excellent and I've seen him many times. Now that his son has taken over every time I've visited, it's been a great and positive experience. I've had many skin issues over the years and they have always been resolved with quick and efficient treatment, I'm very thankful for their excellent care. The doctors that work here are knowledgeable and informative. However, this review is about the Mohs surgery that I had at this facility. I have had Mohs surgery before at another establishment. I am well aware of the time and procedure involved. However, my surgery was at 8:30am and I was cleared of cancer by the lab around noon. I sat in an office waiting to be stitched up for 4 HOURS. This is unprofessional, unacceptable and very poor customer service. There were other patients complaining about the wait, but no one had a longer wait than I. People who had their surgery after me were stitched up before me. It seems the office overbooked the surgeries that day and the doctor was overwhelmed. I wanted so badly to walk out the door knowing I had a hole in my head. She finally attended to me at 4pm and I left at 4:30. I WILL NEVER HAVE MOHS SURGERY AT THIS FACILITY AGAIN! read more

I am only given Alta 1 star because at least I received a phone call cancelling my appointment before I arrived. I called 3 weeks ago to have a possible basal cell looked at as well as a couple of small spots. I have red hair and freckles so I have been prone to basal cells. I specifically asked to double check that Alta would accept my Cigna insurance. They said Yes, The only available appointment would be in 3 weeks. Now less than 24 hrs before my appointment I receive a message they do not accept my Cigna insurance and cancelled me. Really!! They waited 3 weeks to call me!! I recently had an issue with a skin rash that appeared on my face and hands. Dr. Davidson provided me with a medication and a topical gel that substantially reduced the rash. When the rash returned after the prescription ended, Dr. Davidson saw me in a follow up appointment and took excellent care of me. She gave me an ongoing prescription for the topical gel and a back up prescription for the medication if the rash became severe again in the future. Dr. Davidson is highly knowledgeable and very caring. I totally recommend her. read more

Super disappointed in the staff here. I had to book my appointment a month in advance, and then they wait till im there for my appointment to tell me that they do billing up front, and they expect you to pay in full as opposed to billing insurance first. I go to a lot of doctors due to a chronic illness I have, and with my insurance have never had even a copay due at the time of the appointment. I spoke in great lengths to the gal making my appointment as to what I was expecting to have done, and not once did she mention that they billed up front. When I brought this up to the staff up front they claimed that they always informed patients of this when making appointments, and said it was also in their voicemail reminder. This was actually completely false. I still have the voicemail, in fact, it's an automated message, and no where did it mention billing. Unfortunately I am not the kind of person who has over $100 randomly laying around. I was planning on getting billed after insurance, and using my HSA account to pay the bill next week. So I waited over a month for an appointment that I couldn't even have due to the lack of communication by the staff. I also felt it was super unprofessional for the staff up front to lie about their voicemail trying to claim that I should have known about the billing. I've been to this place before over three years ago, and I did not have to pay up front. I understand that things may have changed, but the gal scheduling my appointment knew this, and still did not say anything. So I won't ever be going back here due to the staff's lack of communication, and lying instead of taking responsibility for their screw up. Absolutely the WORST staff you will ever deal with. They are rude, unprofessional and have zero clue how to deal with the public. The staff actually hung up the telephone on us when we attempting to confirm an appointment. They literally act as if you are not important and you are wasting their time. We were not notified to arrive early for paperwork. We kept the appointment time and arrived 5 minutes early only to be scolded by the receptionist. The lady very rudely informed that she was cancelling the appointment because they didn't have time to process the file. ??? The appointment was 330 arrived she arrived and signed in at 325. All insurance had already been called in at the time the appointment was made and this wasn't the first visit. She had a surgical procedure removing skin cancer there before. There should be no need to act that way towards anyone. Not to mention the lobby was full and they obviously were not going to get us in by 330. The receptionist is rude and mean spirited and cancelled the appointment. We waited for a long time for this appointment again for the treatment of skin cancer. We were early even though when we called and were hung up on they didn't tell us anything about needing time to process a file. I absolutely hate that this lady will keep her job because this behavior is systemic to this entire organization. This place is awful! UPDATE- No Kristina, this isn't some ploy by competitors to make Alta look bad. They do that on their own pretty well. In fact one could say you have ties considering you wrote yours within minutes of them reading my post on another social media page, and this would make your second 5 star review for them. Surprised some of the negative reviews. Dr. Kessler is extremely professional and his staff have been very friendly to us. My 89 year old father had two basal cell growths removed using the MOHS procedure. Dr. Kessler told us that he has performed over 30,000 of these! We NEVER had a scheduling problem and our wait times were reasonable. read more

Called again the following week, the recording kept pushing their Botox and Skin Care Institute. Again I left my phone number for a call back. Did not get a return phone call. Called at 4:30 on Friday afternoon and they said they were closed, however in that recording they stated THEY ARE OPEN UNTIL 5!!!!!!! Tracy and her assistant are excellent and I cant complain about them, but I think I will be looking for another dermatologist.
