I went for a yearly checkup and saw the PA, Tracy. Good communications before the appointment, I like the portal and that I could fill out all the paperwork at home (would have preferred to do everything on the portal, but it's a start!) Normal wait time, maybe 15 minutes, and another thing I appreciated is the person who brought me in went over my chart immediately instead of making me sit and wait for someone else. Tracy came in just a few minutes later and again, I loved that she gave me options and then immediately proceeded to do the procedures that we decided on, instead of the usual in and out most medical facilities make you deal with. Tracy is very personable and positive, it was a pleasure to meet her and the staff. Good recommendations on skin care products and after care. read more

Wonder experience from scheduling to check out. The staff is very nice, the doctor was welcoming, took her time to listen and spent a lot of time with me. She explained everything and answered my questions in a relaxed way. I was provided product samples and I set up my next appointment for next year after giving me the option to do so. Well done, good care from everyone. I hope you experience that too if you need a Dermatologist! read more

Dr. Christle Layton was fantastic! She took the time to listen, answer all our questions, and explain everything clearly. The staff was so friendly and professional, and the office was clean, welcoming, and well-organized. We left feeling confident and very well cared for, highly recommend Alta Dermatology! read more

Im a caregiver, brought my client in 4/25 for skin procedure. She said staff was rude, unprofessional & terrible experience & was misquoted price upon checking out. We purposely waited to post this in hopes we weren't imagining what was experienced......no such luck Do not recommend this business especially for the Elderly !!!! read more

This was the first visit here and I've had such bad experiences with dermatologists and Dr's. Kristen Graham was amazing! I can't thank her enough. She's caring and wonderful!! read more

Check-in was easy. It was all electronic and took 5 nimutes. The dermatologist was attentive as I described the spots of concern on my leg. She looked at those spots and determined that they were of no concern. I was out in 15 minutes. There was a co-pay, but it was a small price to pay for peace of mind. read more

Wrong site Mohs surgical procedure performed on me! When I pointed it out the surgeon she had the worst excuse ever. The dermatologist performed an EDC on the correct site which makes me believe that's what should have happed in the first place. They even charged my insurance company for there error. I'm going to another dermatologist now!! No brainer. read more

As a very long time patient, I was a bit concerned about the negative reviews. Over the past couple years, I realized most were pretty accurate. I called to make an appointment for a check up and prescription review. Pretty basic stuff. After being on hold, I was given no option to remain on hold or leave a message for a call back. I just wanted to schedule an appointment. I called twice to make an appointment and no one called me back. Do yourself a favor and just save time and frustration and look for another doctor/ dermatologist. Obviously they are doing so well that they can just let established patients walk out the door and go elsewhere. Doctor's are great. Office staff is horrible and don't care, whether ignoring your call or treating you like cattle in the office. I'm sad because the doctors probably have no idea what is happening up front. The owners don't either, or they would fix it. See ya, Alta, it hasn't been pleasurable at all. read more

Worst care I have ever received from a dermatologist. Went for spots all around my eyes, Dr. Jeffy took a small sample of one spot, and sent it for testing. It took over 3 weeks to get the results, and I had to call, myself, three different times. The results were given to me by a person I have never spoken to, and knows nothing about my condition. The answer Dr. Jeffy came up with to correct the spots all over my eyes is, of course, not covered by insurance because it was, as she said, considered cosmetic. Disgusted by the office, and the professionalism I experienced. Will be looking for a qualified dermatologist, and a second opinion. read more

My first visit was A+ My second visit went south as soon as I checked in, the older lady with the grey hair yelled at me twice, less than a stellar welcome. When taken to the back I was greeted by a young female assistant who was rude and misinformed by I assume the doctor Stephen Kessler, why I was there, she stood there reading off her I-Pad, everything was wrong, I wasn't there for anything to do with Skin cancer, my referral specifically states Psoriasis, the whole reason I was there. I was to start an injectable Skyrizzi, communication was horrible, efforts on their part was almost zero, this caused a delay along with other factors getting the medication dispensed, so the doctor had me suffer with a severe condition for two months, unacceptable ! Then the physician named above thought to give me my next appointment for August 18 2024, further suffering, I thought I was in the Twilight Zone, so Mr Kessler entered the examining room and suggested I cancel for today and just suffer further without medication, after conferring with his young female assistant, the assistant was fresh out of school and I'll be damned if she's going to make medical decisions for me. I then explained to the doctor about the less than stellar welcome I received, he cared nothing about it. I then pointed to a cyst on my neck, aka an infection, yes infection's have been known to kill people, he said see you in August, now I'm really agitated, he gave me a prescription for a medication to hold me over, was supposed to be compounded, which I had to supply one of the ingredients, it took his office one full week to get the prescription correct for the out of state pharmacy to fill it, in the meantime his assistants called my prescription into Walmart, but told me it was coming from a pharmacy out of state, the cost for the prescription at Walmart was double of the other place. So a week and a half later I received the prescription in the mail with no mixing instructions and to make matters worse, the prescription doesn't work at all and on top of it the doctor charged me full for the office visit, he said he was canceling. I then called his office, canceled my August appointment and confirmed I wouldn't be returning. If you have deep pockets and like shoddy care, this place is for you. They deserve zero stars, so but for their ignorance, I must now begin the whole process over again. In my professional opinion, I'd pass on this crap show, your health is too important. read more

This place is under new management and has gone downhill quick. The front office was always horrible, they lost their best doctor and the new doctors are horrible. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I have been going to Alta Dermatology for several years now, and I am very satisfied with the office in general and Dr. Kessler specifically. I have a lot of skin damage from many years on the beach/water and Dr. Kessler has been very good at diagnosing and resolving problems. I highly recommend the practice. I am surprised at the bad reviews of the staff, as they have always been as good as any medical proactive I have ever used. read more

I've now been coming here for 40 years. Dr. Kessler Sr. Has always been excellent and I've seen him many times. Now that his son has taken over every time I've visited, it's been a great and positive experience. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I'm not sure why they will not answer the telephone. I left a message several times yet no return call until days later! I always had a good experience with Dr. Kessler before he retired. Everyone at Alta provided great service and care. I'm not so sure now, since they seem so overwhelmed, they won't even answer the telephone so a person can make an appointment! I won't go back! read more

Dr. Megan Davidson is the best! I've been a patient of hers for years and have always felt taken care of. I would definitely recommend her.

Saw Dr. Jeffy today who was kind, knowledgeable and took her time answering questions. CVS had a problem filling my prescription and she had reached out to me after hours to help resolve the issue with CVS. Definitely has earned my business! read more

The doctors that work here are knowledgeable and informative. However, this review is about the Mohs surgery that I had at this facility. I have had Mohs surgery before at another establishment. I am well aware of the time and procedure involved. However, my surgery was at 8:30am and I was cleared of cancer by the lab around noon. I sat in an office waiting to be stitched up for 4 HOURS. This is unprofessional, unacceptable and very poor customer service. There were other patients complaining about the wait, but no one had a longer wait than I. People who had their surgery after me were stitched up before me. It seems the office overbooked the surgeries that day and the doctor was overwhelmed. I wanted so badly to walk out the door knowing I had a hole in my head. She finally attended to me at 4pm and I left at 4:30. I WILL NEVER HAVE MOHS SURGERY AT THIS FACILITY AGAIN! read more

I'm an established patient. Just wanted to know if there was an appointment available between a certain timeframe. Verified my insurance was the same, then wanted member numbers. I said I just wanted to know if there was an appointment available, do you need all this information to just tell me that? Was not a pleasant person to talk to. NO, SHE NEEDED ALL THIS INFO JUST TO TELL ME IF THERE WAS AN AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. Told her I'd call back with that info. Not sure I'll be calling back. Love doctor Sawyer, not his front office staff. read more

Dr. Jeffey , Rebecca and the staff were amazing! Dr. Jeffey was very thorough and she' very knowledgeable! Definitely recommend!

Medical care was fine. The staff manning the front desk are rude and condescending. Furthermore, they ask for my photo ID and insurance card EVERY visit even though they have it on file! They also require face masks despite CDC guidance. However NONE of the staff wears thei masks correctly. Ridiculous read more

I am only given Alta 1 star because at least I received a phone call cancelling my appointment before I arrived. I called 3 weeks ago to have a possible basal cell looked at as well as a couple of small spots. I have red hair and freckles so I have been prone to basal cells. I specifically asked to double check that Alta would accept my Cigna insurance. They said Yes, The only available appointment would be in 3 weeks. Now less than 24 hrs before my appointment I receive a message they do not accept my Cigna insurance and cancelled me. Really!! They waited 3 weeks to call me!! I feel they are completely incompetent. Just think if my situation would have bn more serious. Do Not Trust Them!! read more

I've been going to this dermatologist for years now. The staff at the front desk is helpful and their Patient Portal makes schedule appointments a breeze. I really like the new Dr Kessler. He took time to answer all my questions and walk me through my options. Their covid measures with patience's wearing masks gives me added security. I love their Image Skin office next door too. They give the best facials. I had another Botox treatment last week there and didn't bruise at all. First time ever not getting a single bruise! read more

I recently had an issue with a skin rash that appeared on my face and hands. Dr. Davidson provided me with a medication and a topical gel that substantially reduced the rash. When the rash returned after the prescription ended, Dr. Davidson saw me in a follow up appointment and took excellent care of me. She gave me an ongoing prescription for the topical gel and a back up prescription for the medication if the rash became severe again in the future. Dr. Davidson is highly knowledgeable and very caring. I totally recommend her. read more

Super disappointed in the staff here. I had to book my appointment a month in advance, and then they wait till im there for my appointment to tell me that they do billing up front, and they expect you to pay in full as opposed to billing insurance first. I go to a lot of doctors due to a chronic illness I have, and with my insurance have never had even a copay due at the time of the appointment. I spoke in great lengths to the gal making my appointment as to what I was expecting to have done, and not once did she mention that they billed up front. When I brought this up to the staff up front they claimed that they always informed patients of this when making appointments, and said it was also in their voicemail reminder. This was actually completely false. I still have the voicemail, in fact, it's an automated message, and no where did it mention billing. Unfortunately I am not the kind of person who has over $100 randomly laying around. I was planning on getting billed after insurance, and using my HSA account to pay the bill next week. So I waited over a month for an appointment that I couldn't even have due to the lack of communication by the staff. I also felt it was super unprofessional for the staff up front to lie about their voicemail trying to claim that I should have known about the billing. I've been to this place before over three years ago, and I did not have to pay up front. I understand that things may have changed, but the gal scheduling my appointment knew this, and still did not say anything. So I won't ever be going back here due to the staff's lack of communication, and lying instead of taking responsibility for their screw up. I don't need to go to a place that treats their patients like that. read more

Absolutely the WORST staff you will ever deal with. They are rude, unprofessional and have zero clue how to deal with the public. The staff actually hung up the telephone on us when we attempting to confirm an appointment. They literally act as if you are not important and you are wasting their time. We were not notified to arrive early for paperwork. We kept the appointment time and arrived 5 minutes early only to be scolded by the receptionist. The lady very rudely informed that she was cancelling the appointment because they didn't have time to process the file. ??? The appointment was 330 arrived she arrived and signed in at 325. All insurance had already been called in at the time the appointment was made and this wasn't the first visit. She had a surgical procedure removing skin cancer there before. There should be no need to act that way towards anyone. Not to mention the lobby was full and they obviously were not going to get us in by 330. The receptionist is rude and mean spirited and cancelled the appointment. We waited for a long time for this appointment again for the treatment of skin cancer. We were early even though when we called and were hung up on they didn't tell us anything about needing time to process a file. I absolutely hate that this lady will keep her job because this behavior is systemic to this entire organization. This place is awful! UPDATE- No Kristina, this isn't some ploy by competitors to make Alta look bad. They do that on their own pretty well. In fact one could say you have ties considering you wrote yours within minutes of them reading my post on another social media page, and this would make your second 5 star review for them. The above REALLY HAPPENED, snd now we are faced with finding a new Doctor to remove her skin cancer. Good day. read more

If I could give less than a star I would. I wanted to see Dr. Sawyer who has been highly recommended to me for years. I tried to see him almost 3 years ago. My first encounter I was newly married and insurance was through my dad. My name had not been changed on his insurance, but I provided all the identification and paperwork. I even brought my marriage license. After filling out new patient paperwork and waiting 45 minutes I was told they wouldn't see me. I thought I'd give the office another shot so I made another appointment. It takes AT LEAST 3 weeks to be seen. For the second time I was not able to be seen. I received a call from Jolene saying both of my insurances were showing up as primary. This is an issue I've been battling for a year. I was told to call them and let secondary know there was a primary. Well long story short i was transferred and disconnected. So I called back asking if I could just pay my primary insurance co pay. Worst case scenario is that they would owe me. NOPE. They wanted to pay the fee of no insurance to be seen. Now, I work in the insurance business and this is ridiculous. At this point, I already paid my babysitter and was on my way. I was able to find another office that had a same day appointment. I'm sure Dr. Sawyer is Wonderful but his office staff is AWFUL. Don't waste your time. read more
