Have been coming here for over 10 years. Literally all their PA's and Dr are amazing. They are super knowledgeable and provide great service. The front desks staff has been so incredibly helpful when I have had an issues with insurance etc. Sheridan (PA) is so incredibly knowledgeable and she cares so much, she has always listened to us and our concerns and genuinely takes her time getting I hear our concerns and talking through recommendations and options. We have been super impressed with her and the entire staff. Everyone's have seen there has been awesome. Super professional and caring. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. 1. They charge for credit card transactions and the front desk told me they are cashless. 2. The Dr. spent less than 2 minutes analyzing my body. I went and got a second look at a different dr's office and found 3 areas to be addressed. 3. The dr. offered to check for yeast and did a quick swab of my foot, put me on meds. She said it shouldn't cost anything. 4. I got a bill three months later for $950 from a lab that I didn't even need done because she put me on meds anyway. 5. When I called the office, they told me they had a credit balance for me. Hmmmmm. Why?? Because they over billed me each time I went in after I questioned their billing. I am currently waiting for a call back from the manager as they could not figure out why I would get a bill from a lab for $950. I do not recommend this office, they are unprofessional and have no clue what they are doing. read more

Today I have decided that I will not return here and will find a new dermatologist. I really like Tasha, so this review is not about the care I have received from her, but there have been several times when I've had more serious concerns and struggled to reach someone or get in to address the problem. I have been a patient for almost 10 years, first at the Phoenix office with Molly, and since about 2018 with Tasha at Gilbert. In recent years I have had numerous basal cell skin cancers. There were a couple times when the treated spots got infected and I needed to be seen, and after great effort to reach someone was told they couldn't get me in. I ended up getting into the Phoenix office on one of these occasions where they prescribed an antibiotic. This was for a spot that was frozen and became infected, and they stated that she might have went a little too deep with it. Earlier this year I had a very small spot that was frozen and then seemed to have a reaction. I did get in to see Tasha after expressing some urgency that the spot had grown dramatically and hurt. She then biopsied it and it was a squamous cell. I had to have Mohs surgery on it, and saw Dr. Kahn, who was extremely professional and gentle. *I want to add that the infection was not due to improper care on my behalf. I do take an immune suppressant because I have been through a bone marrow transplant, so I can be more susceptible than others to various reactions, and likewise need adequate care when a problem does arise. They now have an automated system of contact and it is absolutely terrible. You can't simply call the office when you have a problem - like a more serious form of skin cancer, or infection - and speak to someone to assist in getting in sooner than two months away. With the automated there are numerous glitches, forcing the patient to call back several times trying to get through it. Once you do, the automated voice gives you a date and time for an appointment that is unacceptable. There is no humanity in this, it's all about greed in my opinion. Fewer people they have to pay, and less qualified people for those they do pay. I've experienced some very kind and tender assistants at their offices, and a few that seemed like they have some sort of mental illness, or at the least are severely inept. I'm not judging anyone, but there have indeed been a couple strange people that should not be handling needles or interacting with patients independently. As far as today, I called yesterday morning and once again was aggravated with the automated system. I finally was able to leave a message, and I did get a call back. The young woman was very polite who called me back, and she acknowledged my concern, that I believe I have another squamous cell skin cancer that grew rapidly. She scheduled me for today at 2:45. Or at least that is what I put in my phone calendar. I arrived at 2:47. It took me over an hour to get there today, I drive from Mesa, and with light traffic it takes 30 minutes, 40 minutes if moderate traffic. It could have been the time of day but there was more than usual traffic, and I caught most red lights. After checking in and waiting for about 10 or so minutes, the girl at the desk told me that they would need to reschedule me. I looked puzzled. She said because I was late. I stated that I was only a couple minutes late. She said "Your appointment was at 2:30." I apologized and said that I had it in my phone as 2:45. Maybe the girl who scheduled it told me 2:45 and entered it as 2:30, or I in error entered it wrong in my phone I don't know. I told the girl at the desk that I drive from Mesa and it is too far to return, and that I have a spot that appears more serious and that is why I was here today. She didn't care. She just kept reiterating their 15 minute late policy. I even said that I would wait for as long as necessary if that was ok, that I have been a patient for years. She said no and that I have an appointment scheduled for the end of September. I told her to cancel it and that I won't be back. So, it's ok for the patients to wait beyond our appointment time, but it's not ok for an isolated incident when a more serious skin cancer is present and a mix up took place on the appointment time? Hmmm. There was only one man in the waiting room. It's not like they were swamped. This is poor customer care, and very disrespectful. With the many times I have waited in the waiting room for appointments, and the agonizing times on the phone, only to be booted out when I really needed to be seen. It's pathetic truly. The cons have now outweighed the pros. read more

I have been coming to this office for 15 years now, Tasha Mack is absolutely fantastic! I do have to say that the only reason I come here is for her. Their automated scheduling system is absolutely horrific. It is nearly impossible to get an actual live person on the phone and when you do it with someone in a call center. I have never had serious issues, but this would be extremely concerning if I had medical issues that I needed to address. If it wasn't for Tasha, I would've left this office a long time ago! read more

My husband and I transferred to AZ from Michigan with the same group, Advanced Dermatology. We were thrilled to have a location in Gilbert. Saw the P.A., Tasha Mackey to begin with for some small basal cell removal on my face. We are regulars now with Tasha, as she just gave us a full body screening, answered our concerns and questions throughly and professionally. We have a place for her in our heart, because she reminds us so much of our granddaughter. A very friendly, kind and pleasant staff, I might add too. Also, got reminders of our upcoming appointment, both by text and email. Communication was great. read more

Advanced Dermatology was recommended by my pediatrician. I was so surprised that I was able to make an appointment very quickly with them. With specialists, especially dermatologists and especially in Arizona, they are usually booked out for a while. I called on a Wednesday morning and was seen on Wednesday afternoon by Dr. Tasha. When I called earlier that day they took all of my information so that when I got there, it was just a matter of filling out a few forms on the iPad. Quick and painless. I met with the nurse who is super nice, and the Doctor who was incredible. She is a mother of three, so she definitely understood kids as well as got us in and out very quickly while helping us with everything. The place itself was decorated with holiday cheer. I thought that everyone was very nice there. I will definitely be using this dermatologist moving forward. The rooms were clean, everyone was kind. Been going to Yarbough and Jensen for over a decade. They were purchased by a big corporate firm and their poor customer service shows. 3:15 appointment today. People who came in after got called up. There is only 1 PA. No doctor. How do people showing up 30 monutes after me get seen as my appt is already 30 minutes behind. At 4pm I told the office greeter that I had to go. I couldn't wait another 30 minutes in back. I had yet to be called up. She laughed like it's a common problem! I asked for the office manager to call me. I have doubts that will occur. Don't waste your time unless you like to wait 1.5 hours after your appointment. read more

Ever since moving to a "Sunshine Paradise," I've been extremely vigilant for the important ABCDE skin cancer warning signs. So when I recently discovered a few worrisome "suspicious spots," I was surprisingly able to make a next day appointment with Advanced Dermatology. (Where I had previously received excellent treatment from "Phoenix Magazine Top Doc" Bill Halmi.) Fortunately, PA-C Kendall thought my condition looked benign. Which shortly thereafter a biopsy confirmed. Obviously a great relief! Though I'll still continue taking relatively simple "sun-smart" precautions including periodic checkups to stay healthy. Special thanks to Kendall as well as assistants Sennah and Dominique. But in particular to (Nurse?) Norma for her impressive explanation of my favorable test results -- not to mention patience, understanding, and humor. The rest of the staff starting with the receptionists were in my opinion quite pleasant and competent. As a scientist who consults for lawyers, I honestly wish I could give this fine medical establishment SIX stars!! read more

Lets start with he positive... This place was amazingly easy to schedule an appointment. That should have been the first indication that the service they provide would be subpar. Upon my arrival this feeling was confirmed by the poor quality of service. They are all about prescribing medicine and bringing you back in for additional visits. To make matters worse the rotund woman working billing and scheduling has a very poor attitude and seemingly hates her life and job. The final blow for this establishment was their fraudulent billing. I paid cash for my visit on site only to receive a bill in the mail months later. If you like shitty service, poor attitudes and fraudulent billing. This is the place for you. Rest assured scheduling will be made easy, they do a lousy job and always have room for new clients! read more

Mehhh.....went for some eczema issues. Asked about getting some benign moles frozen off my back. Was told they can take up to 5 off, for $150. Found a great dermatologist in Mesa that did it for free, as part of my initial visit regarding the eczema issue. 2nd opinions are priceless read more

Pa kendall jensen put me through nightmarish 6 months if pain showed little interest in showing him my condition,had to come back a month later for improperly healing hidradenitis .A painful abscess formed he said get keloid shot I asked him if I should see surgeon he outright said no. My abscess became larger more red and was still infected. It was 10 cm and deep with blocked sinuses. Asked him if my sinus was blocked he said maybe come back for more steroid shots. The pain was so severe it was constant shooting needle pain and got even more red and infected. I went to my primary care doctor and immediately found surgeon for emergency surgery. I. Dr. Halmi was great! I brought my 16-year-old daughter to Advanced Dermatology for removal of her hemangioma birthmark on her face. He did a great job explaining the process and performing the procedure. It's not very common for cosmetic laser places to have BBL lasers but I was so happy to find that Advanced Derm had one in Scottsdale. Like so many of the other reviews we were duped by the compounding pharmacy Sun Pharmacy that they use. The physicians assistant stated they were the only ones in Arizona who carried the medicine which was a blatant lie. I received three prescriptions all of which were denied by insurance because they didn't pre autho the specialty pharmacy when they could've been called in through a regular pharmacy. We paid hundreds of dollars for prescriptions when we should've paid $12. We called the office multiple times no one returned our phone calls we left several messages with the front office office manager and with the physicians assistance. I took my son in to have his moles checked out. They were very thorough and made him feel very comfortable. And they were able to do it quickly, kept calm, and were able to do such quick work of it that he responded, "Was that it? Are you done already?" I have been to this office 4 or 5 times and each time I have been totally satisfied. Everyone is very nice and friendly. The doctor and PAs have listened to my concerns and treated all of the problems I came in with. I had several moles that were bothering me and the doctor removed all of them and sent them for biopsies and billed my insurance. Other dermatologists I had seen before wouldn't remove them without a biopsy but wouldn't bill insurance for it so it. Had an appointment here yesterday. Was checked in by a friendly front office girl, taken back less than 10 minutes after arriving, and was treated and out the door 30 minutes later. Amazing! Every single staff member I encountered was friendly and efficient. Nobody was without a smile, and each person acted as if they had shown up to work because they WANTED to be there. The doctor was great, explained everything he was doing and made it a painless experience. I go back in two weeks for a follow up, and I'm sure I will get the same great service! read more

I like this office. They are easy to schedule with and accept a wide array of insurances. The doctors and nurses are kind and comprehensive and help with any concerns all in the same visit, which is great when you're juggling a busy life and don't have time to make a separate appointment for each mole and wart. I feel like they value my time and they followed up to make sure the problems got resolved, which was refreshing and appreciated! The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because twice when I have called to make payments, they tell me the date that they will send my account to collections if I don't have it all paid off. Our family has been in several times for lots of things, so we have multiple visits on the revolving payments, and I just call them every month and pay a couple hundred dollars. Our account has never been delinquent or neglected. Seems like if you're paying every month, there wouldn't be a need to threaten collections, so that seems unnecessarily aggressive. I am the mother of a teen- need I say more? I do not miss the age at all, that's for sure. Hormones, moody, I've suddenly become uncool, and of course the breakouts. Unfortunately for her it's out of control. Our doctor referred us to AAD, and since they had a Gilbert office I figured why not (there are several throughout the valley). The office is easy enough to find- it's right next to Gilbert Mercy Hospital and that building sticks out in the 202/Val Vista area. The receptionist was pleasant enough, and the assistant who saw my teen was as well. Felt a little impersonal: Get in, quickly diagnose, get your prescription, get out. I wouldn't have minded a little more personal interaction to make my daughter feel more at ease. We'll keep going to see them, it is convenient and they take the insurance, so I can overlook the small stuff. If you do try AAD out, be aware of one of the papers they ask you to sign. It's an ok for them to just automatically take unpaid balances right from your credit card. When I asked them about it they told me it was optional, but it doesn't say that anywhere on the form. Boy I hope my teen doesn't read this! It's not going to score me any points in the "cool" department, that's for sure! ;-) read more

The worst dermatology office in Arizona. I called to get an appointment because a RX could not be renewed without a DR visit. I called the office and was not able to speak with a live body until four phone calls back to the office. When I finally spoke with someone, I was told the next available appointment was three weeks later. I booked it. I asked if I could be put on a wait list in the event that someone cancelled. I was told to call back later. I complied and called back. I left a message on the machine asking for them to call me back. They never did. Guess they don't need my business! I would steer clear of this office, very unprofessional!!!! read more
