I've come to this location twice now for a facial with Kaitlynn. I've never had a facial prior to coming here but it really exceeded my expectations! Kaitlynn is friendly and takes her time to explain to you what she is doing and why which I love. So far I have noticed improvement with my skin texture and love the Skin Science tinted SPF for my face she recommended too. read more

Been going there for several months been cut on four times, three in the last four weeks for squamous. I was supposed to get cut on today for a cyst but I had noticed it had gone away and didn't need to be cut on, I also had to have sutures removed from my shoulder from two weeks prior. I shared with his assistant and she removed the sutures and said that's all. Dr D.H. never came into see how everything was going with the rest of my body. In all my visits I never had a body check other than asked if I had any thing of interest to be looked at. Those spots were sprayed and no follow up to check at another appointment to see how they did. I went to Dr.D.H. to see a Doctor in Dermatology leaving my Dermatologist of thirty years thinking I wanted a doctor to check me out. Unfortunately he wasn't as thorough as she was with inspecting my body for everything. It's sad to say a friend of mine told me "all Saguaro Dermatology wants to do is cut." Kinda makes sense now. read more

On June 4, I had a procedure to remove a cherry angioma. Two weeks later, the angioma was still there, so I called and scheduled another appointment to have it removed properly, as the initial procedure was not successful. This is not the first cherry angioma I have had removed, so I know that when the procedure is performed correctly, it is typically removed the first time. From the moment I arrived, the appointment was treated as a follow-up visit. In my view, this was not a follow-up; it was a correction of an unsuccessful procedure. Despite this, I was required to pay for another office visit. I do not consider this fair or ethical. I expected the clinic to take responsibility for a treatment that did not achieve the intended result and to show greater consideration for its patients. I have been a patient of this clinic for several years, but after this experience, I have decided not to return. I am sharing this review so others can be aware of my experience and make an informed decision. read more

Dr Dathan Hamann has been my dermatologist for several years & I absolutely recommend him and his team. He is professional, knowledgeable & kind - and great at explaining things to his patients. Additionally, Doria, on his staff, has worked diligently to resolve a very challenging medical record transfer situation for me. Doria went over and above to come up with the best solution, both reassuring me and giving me the best steps to take. The quality of care I have received from Saguarro Dermatology has been exceptional. read more

If you have to go to the dermatologist, this is your spot in Phoenix. Easy parking, super clean and professional clinic, and very efficient. I've been coming here a few years for my regular skin checks (a must when you love the sun or are in your 40s!) and always have a good experience. They know what to look for and I leave feeling well cared for. Highly recommended! read more

Communication by the dermatologist that we saw needs to be better, unprofessional to say the least. We left the office very disappointed. We will not be returning and would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially the particular doctor that everyone seems to be complaining about in the reviews below. Update: Called the office per the office manager who responded to my post. Left voicemail...NO RESPONSE AND A NEW BILL charging us more money!! NO! Still do not recommend. Run from this place! read more

Dr Hamman is the best! Very thorough when I have questions and treatment. I highly recommend him. Affordable care!

My husband and I have been to Saguaro Dermatology multiple times now and have had the best experiences! I've been for multiple issues but by far my favorite are the anti aging remedies that they prescribed. I'm about due for an annual checkup so I'll be back soon. I always recommend Drs. Hamann to friends and acquaintances. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and they have state-of-the-art technology. read more

Would not recommend as a new patient - don't waste your time. This company pays for sponsored Google ads. I did a quick google search to find local derms who specialize in a particular treatment. Saguaro came up so I called. I described what I was looking for to the lady on the phone only to be dismissed and hung up on. She wanted me to see the first avail provider dismissing my ask for a specialist. When I ask to confirm if the office and particular provider or anyone at the company specialize in this treatment, she said no and hung up on me when I told her that's what I was looking for and why I started with a clear description of what I was looking for. Very sad. read more

Good care but rigid on patients being a little late through no fault of their own. Also a bit cookie cutter on acne treatment. I had to figure out a lanolin lip product allergy too which they treated a perioral dermatitis. read more

Dr. Dathan is awesome! He has a very confident and comforting personality. He's been seeing my kids for a few years now and has always given us a choice of what type of care we want to proceed with. Ive made the switch to start seeing him as my dermatologist as well because of how well he has taken care of my kids! His office is always very clean and inviting- they have cold water bottles and enough seating to feel spacious. Definitely recommend Dr. Dathan Hamann and his staff! read more

TRACY IS AWFUL! I definitely wrote a review about my horrible experience last year and somehow it's no longer here! So with that being said let me write this again. Last year I received microneedling from this location. My results were horrific I still have a slight scar on my right cheek with jagged texture . I had so much acne for months mind you my skin had no acne before this procedure and I've had it done other places with no problems . Maybe this company doesn't know how to deal with African American skin. I went somewhere else to get chemical peels and it helped tremendously, my skin is almost normal again besides the slight scar. Anyways once I wrote my review the manager at that time contacted me immediately made an appointment for me to see the dermatologist & they were able to give me some prescriptions. She was so kind and even gave me 2 free facials whenever I wanted to book Them . I obviously wasn't going to go back there until I had my skin figured out. It was a traumatizing experience. Now that my skin is better I tried to book my 2 facials today & even asked when booking them if they were still available & she said yes and booked my appointments . So an hour later Tracy the practice manager calls me & was already defensive for whatever reason! Telling me there's not really any notes and that after 6 months those are no longer good and said she didn't know what happened so I can't have those appointments! She was aggressive for absolutely no reason! It was unnecessary I had to tell her I wasn't trying to argue because she was already confrontational off the bat. I was letting her know my skin was ruined and in a snotty and sarcastic way she said "I'm sorry your skin was ruined." That was the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. Especially coming from a manager! The crazy part about it is I would have been understanding from the start but this company obviously needs better communication and if these are the type of people who run this business, best of luck to you! read more

Saguaro Dermatology - Phoenix - Proof - Dermatologists Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Not very professional to say the least. I went in and they "sent" to Sonora quest a standing order. Once I went to Sonora they said it was not a standing order and that they needed an end date to have that. I called several times. The first time the lady said she would look at it and send over a correct standing order. Nothing has ever showed up. The other thing was my son went there and let the male dr know the several things he was there for. The dr said he could only do one thing at a time and to make another appointment. I have never heard of a dr doing this. Looks like they just to make more money by having you come back in. read more

After a couple of great visits with Dr Hamann. He suddenly announced he could not keep me on as a patient. When I asked why he stated he was unable to locate a suitable billing code to submit to BC/BS. They issued me a check to refund $600+ for allergy testing, then canceled payment on the refund. read more

Do not come here! They will charge you and not notify you or even send you a bill. I asked the derm how their billing process works and his words were "we do not bill, whatever you owe is due when you leave." So when I was checking out the receptionist told me I only owe my copay. Well, I check my bank statement the next day and was charged $245. Keep in mind, I had to call 3 separate times to even see what I was charged for. $105 of it was for a new patient visit when I have insurance and went in for an annual skin check COVERED under insurance. I've never had a dermatologist charge me a new patient fee like this when I have insurance. Going elsewhere in the future. read more

The doctors are great. They are very willing to help and figure out my skin and allergy problems. The front girl who tried to schedule my patch testing is another story. This front girl (Amaya) scheduled my patch testing appointment completely wrong. They didn't order my patches to come in. I left work to get this done and it wasn't scheduled properly so they told me to come back later in the day. The medical assistant did end up placing my personal products on anyways. This was a huge inconvenience that could have been avoided. The girl who scheduled me had an awful attitude, she was dressed in sweatpants, seemed like she didn't want to be at work, very monotone voice. She kept having to ask someone else how to schedule the patch allergy test appointments. She didn't get it correct. Maybe they need to retrain or have people read through notes prior to scheduling incorrectly. I would recommend this place for the doctors but not for the office people. read more

I've been searching for a trustworthy dermatologist in my neighborhood and I am so happy to have found Saguaro Derm and Dr. Hamann! I booked a visit at their Phoenix office for an annual skin cancer screening. (Spoiler alert - no cancer here!) It was my first skin cancer screening so I wasn't sure what to expect, but the process was easy and painless. The screening itself was pretty fast but still felt thorough and I was able to get all my questions answered and all of my "questionable" moles looked over. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Hamann and his assistant, and the office staff were pleasant to work with. They have safety protocols in place for COVID, including mandatory masks, hand sanitizer stations, and wiping down everything in the lobby in between clients. I'm grateful for the emphasis on safety and I'm looking forward to returning in 12 months for my next screening! read more

I initially left a glowing review but after my recent experience I cannot. If you need any kind of female anatomy care just go see a gynecologist dr dathan hamann should not ever be doing them. He was smug and kind of awkward maybe on the spectrum? I don't know / don't care. But I'll be getting a second opinion from a gynecologist who isn't afraid to exam a woman and doesn't use his cell phone phone flashlight to see better. That was absolutely bizarre. In addition to this I was misdiagnosed and therefore was told to use a product that would never fix what I actually was correctly diagnosed for. The ointment they had me used only masked the itching. And I was told to use on an area it shouldn't be used. I did talk to the office manager and she was sympathetic and told me they would be discussing with HR. So disregard the nice reply below they stay up regardless of edit. No I will never ever return. Nice try tho. I plan on filing with the medical board over the use of his phone flashlight. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Dathan Hamman. He's knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I don't know if their practice sees children but these are people who are great with their patients and would be great with kids. Making an appointment was easy, the front office staff are top notch, and throughout my experience the team was coordinated, clear, and in communication with me. I am recommending Saguaro and Dr. Dathan for my family, friends, and my Yelp community! read more

I had a good experience at my visit overall. I would recommend if you need to see a dermatologist. I think that everyone was overall nice and helpful. I was not a fan of the wait time for my appointment but I think they were either overbooked that day or running behind schedule. read more

I started a new job and had new insurance so I had to go to a dermatologist that accepted my insurance. I'm so happy I did. I went to see a dermatologist about a couple of bumps on my face. Well when I pulled back my hair he noticed something else. The doctor was fixated on the LLP he discovered and prescribed a topical steroid. When I asked about the big red bump in the middle of my forehead he didn't want to do anything. He thought it might be cancerous. Well doc why didn't you do a biopsy? The doctor I went to today knew exactly what it was and got me an appointment with their associate in their other office to fix it and 2 others on my face. Guess what the doctor at Saguaro missed? A bump on the side of my nose of which he took a biopsy right away. He suspected basal cell carcinoma. I do not recommend these docs, I'm sorry to say. read more

I had an appointment Monday for a routine mole check. Before I selected this dermatologist I called my insurance company to make sure they accept my insurance. When I booked the appointment I was told they accept my insurance. When I arrived for my appointment I'm told they do not accept my insurance. WHAT?!?!!??!! I explained to the receptionist or whatever she was everything that led up to me booking the appointment AND that I was told by someone at the office that my insurance is accepted. She said she doesn't know who I spoke to but my insurance is not accepted. I called the insurance company while standing in front of her and was told that my insurance IS accepted!!!! I then handed her my phone and asked him to repeat what he just told me. FYI, I have Cigna Insurance not some fly by night, 3rd world country insurance. The 3 stars is for the nonsense that happened at the front desk. The actual time spent with the doctor was fine. I was not kept waiting in a cold room for 45 minutes. He was polite, professional and thorough. I will book with him again and would recommend him. I also recommend getting the name of the person you talk to when booking your appointment. read more

Fast appointment. Easy sign up--new patient. Saw me right at my appointment time, and very little wait time in room. Easy to find, big building, big sign. Lots of parking. (3400 E McDowell, Phoenix). Modern, clean place--cool artwork on walls, too! Friendly, knowledgeable. Thank you! read more

Dr. Hamann is a personable, caring dermatologist who will look at your skin concerns and take them seriously. I've had some unpleasant annual skin cancer checks in the past, but my experience at this office has restored my faith in dermatology practices! They are currently taking all covid precautions (including temperature checks when you come in for your appointment). This office values your time and they work smoothly and efficiently - I had almost no wait which is amazing considering that I was a new patient. The derm checked my skin thoroughly and answered all of my questions, which I sincerely appreciated. I guarantee you have found your family dermatologist in Dr. Hamann. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Dathan Hamann's for almost over a year now. I have always had anxiety about dermatologist, being that they prescribed medications that didn't suit my lifestyle or were outrageous. However, I want to say that Dr. Hamman has surprised me with his care and professionalism. My skin a year ago was breaking out due to hormones, and my acne was painful, inflamed, and embarrassing. Now my skin is clear of acne, shining and I have little to no acne scars. I highly recommend anyone struggling to similar issues to visit Dr. Hamman. read more

I was requesting fillers and/or botox. All I got back was one sentence saying "unable to service", no further explanation given. They are a dermatology clinic. Do they seriously not offer these services? I would not go there at this point anyway. read more

Dr Dathan Hamann got progressively less helpful as time went on. Appears to be very friendly but is more condescending than anything. Can't hide his annoyance when you ask follow up questions. In a rush to get you out of his office/get you off the phone. I don't get the vibe he actually cares about his patient, I get the vibe he wants to the bare minimum so you think he cares. Luckily my sister is a general practitioner so I was able to actually get the necessary details from her. I would not recommend read more

Love this office!! Dr.Hamann is absolutely amazing! All my concerns were addressed and handled with upmost care.

My husband and I are snowbirds and needed new dermatologist in the Phoenix area. We called Dr Daman Hamann at Saguaro Dermatology and got an appointment the next day. Dr Hamann greeted us in the lobby. He saw my husband first who has considerable sun damage on his face. He was thorough with the exam, explained what he was seeing and firm with my husband about protecting his skin from further damage. He was personable and kind and felt reassured that we had found the doctor we needed. I was next and he gave me the same personal treatment. We are so pleased we found him and his friendly staff through the Internet. He is young but that's an advantage as he has current education and degrees and certifications. Up until now we have been seeing PAs and now feel much more comfortable with a doctor of dermatology. read more

The Doctor is super knowledgeable and took time to explain things. Great experience.

scammers. over charged me, then told me to fill out paper work and asked for more money to get out of paying more. then sent me more bills and then sent them to collections. never answers the phone, never communicated accurately on how much i would pay when i called 2 times prior to confirm. Rosa is a fraud and a liar. ended up having to pay over $450 to get two benign skin tags removed. Went to another dermatologist earlier this year and just had to pay the $95 copay for the same exact thing and no hassle. no extra bills sent in the mail, no paying extra for nonsense, no having to call Rosa, collections, insurance companies etc and waste a ton of my time. have steered away everyone i know to Saguaro Dermatology read more

I went in for dandruff and a rash. Dr. Carsten Hamann didn't even look at my scalp and claimed I just needed dandruff shampoo. I don't like that he didn't look before making that claim. Do not recommend. read more
