Apparently, it is their normal business practice to cancel appointments if they don't like your insurance. I checked in early, from the link they sent me via SMS on Monday. Tuesday they canceled my appointment and left me a voicemail that I didn't receive. So Wednesday morning when I show up for my appointment they let me sit for 90 minutes before they figure out what had happened. Then they act like they're doing me a favor to squeeze me in, about 30 minutes later. I got the least thorough examination I've ever received from a dermatologist. I was in that office for right at 2.5 hours. Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. They should teach classes on how not to run a business... read more

I was recommended here by my primary care for yearly skin check ups. I went twice, once a year, no issues. A few weeks ago, I had a bad heat rash flare up. It's only gotten worse after weeks of otc medicine, so I decided to call my dermatologist, PV Dermatology. The receptionist was immediately curt, and when I asked to be seen for an urgent issue she rudely said, "The soonest we can see you is in a month." I said I understand, but is there any thing sooner? This has been getting worse and I am in extreme discomfort. She then spit through the phone that most providers are booked until September, so one month is the best they can do. Absolutely disgusted by the treatment, I told her thanks for nothing and hung up. I called the next nearest dermatologist, and what do you know? They fit me in the very next day, and without me even telling them it's an urgent issue. They're even in the same network, so they got my info right from PV Derm's database! Thank you PV Dermatology for saving me the trouble of trusting you with my skin care again. I know seeing patients is a bother for you, so I'll just take my business to a better specialist! ***Fun Update*** The issue I called PV Derm about, that a better derm was able to see next day, was a fungal infection and my otc meds were steroid-based and feeding the infection. I have a possible impetigo infection and I went here for an urgent appointment as I have a newborn and impetigo can potentially be life threatening if my newborn gets it. It has been 5 days since to swab an no call from them. I called the office only to get hung up on and then sent to voicemail. When I finally reached someone they said the PA was not in the office. I have been wearing a mask around my newborn daughter for a week out of an abundance of caution. A little sense of urgency would be nice. Also, the office is old, poorly lit, and hard to find. read more

Very friendly staff! Megan was awesome. Got my moles removed for a flat rate - and I had plenty of them. I had to go back twice more cause some were stubborn and didn't come off, but it wasn't a problem for Megan to see me again! Highly recommend this place. Only issue I had was I kept getting billed every time I went. Had to call the office to explain mine was self paid and flat rate. They did take care of it right away, though. read more

I had my first appointment at PV Dermatology today and was very impressed. The office staff is very friendly and takes time to answer all of your questions. Not having any insurance I was concerned that I would have to pay a lot of money because I'm self pay, however I was pleasantly surprised to learn that even without insurance their rates are very affordable compared to other dermatologists I've been to in the past. The doctor who saw me was very professional and spent time explaining things as did the medical assistant. I've been to several other dermatologists and most of them spend only a minute or two with you but this doctor took his time to explain things to me. I felt like I was genuinely cared about by this doctor. If you are in need of a dermatologist I highly recommend going here. read more

The MA saw me for five mins and told me I didn't have a fungal infection. I continued to get worse. She prescribed a bottle of Med that should never be put on a fungal infection. She was arrogant and disrespectful. I was hospitalized and in treatment with antifungal medication. I tried to speak with the doctor there but he would not return my call. This place does not know or care about what they are doing. They just want to do plastic surgery and not treat real illness. read more

I had Elos IPL/RF done by Kathy about 2 weeks ago. She was wonderfully patient with me as I asked questions about which procedure would be best for my skin and why. She explained everything she was going to do and how it would feel, what to expect that day and in the days to come. She was thorough in the treatment and I am more than satisfied with the results. I've been coming to PV Derm for 15 years. Dr. Blair and his team always make my visits comfortable and stress free. I'm always surprised how quickly they call me in. I arrive a few minutes early and barely get to sit down before they're taking me back to an exam room. I appreciate an office that keeps on schedule. Yet, somehow Dr. Blair never seems rushed and I always feel like he'll take all the time needed to hear about my concerns. When I've had spots that worry me, he is calm and informative.
