I work at a local primary care office, and the referral department was incredibly rude to myself and our onboarding provider. She faxed a referral not knowing it had to be done online through the patients' insurance. When I called to follow up on 12/3 around 11:45AM the referral staff talked down to me stating, " I don't know why you wouldn't know this . . ." It's unfortunate a little understanding and kindness wasn't given. If staff is rude to our clinical staff, I am not confident they will treat our patients with respect either. As a result, I am not comfortable referring patients here. read more

I saw Dr. Tripp years ago and really felt that she was extremely competent. Fast forward to hearing from staff that Dr. Tripp was on a sabbatical, which turned out to be a very long sabbatical, to know she is retired. I made an appt and the front office phone person ASSURED me, that they would cancel the appt if they didn't receive the referral from my PCP. No call from their office, so I head over there. Guess what? They never received the referral in time for my appt. And they let me drive 25 minutes each way for nothing. Also, I had a brand new car, and rocks were hitting my windshield, but I digress. Let's just say I was less than pleased!! And there was no apology from the gals in the office. It was like they just didn't give a sh*t, and did nothing to try and squeeze me in. They offered something 4 hours later. No thank you. Plus I had to fill out forms for absolutely NO REASON! Love, love, love Dr. Rimer. He is warm, friendly, caring, attentive, and considerate of our time and money. He is excellent at putting his patients at ease and takes his time to explain everything. I didn't think doctors like him existed anymore. We're so glad we found him. His staff, on the other hand, is the opposite of him in every way. Oh, how we miss the lovely staff that used to work for Dr. Tripp and Dr. Mudge when they were in the Dunlap office!!! Poor Dr. Rimer. With the exception of a sweet, smiley young lady in the back, (slim, with long, dark hair for identification purposes) every female in the new office on 3rd Street and Hatcher has RBF. If any of them smiled, their faces would crack into pieces. They are cold to the point of rudeness and very unprofessional. No eye contact. No greeting as you come in or out. But they can sure yuk it up among themselves. Example: we saw one of the women walking down the hall from the back office with a chart in her hand, laughing and yelling at someone all the way in the front office. The office manager (I think that's who she was) had to shush her and tell her to calm down. Another example: while we were waiting in the exam room, suddenly the radio was turned up loud and rap was thumping across the walls. Then more loud talking and laughter. What is this? High school? Imagine this: the lady with the dyed blonde hair who sits in the back office helped Dr. Rimer with a procedure in one of the exam rooms. When it was done, he looked at her and told her that he appreciated her help, and that she did a good job. She didn't nod, smile, or even grunt a reply! In fact, she turned her back to him. Just a sour look on her face and the silent treatment. We ourselves greeted her hello and goodbye - same thing. No eye contact, no response, big pout, angry face. How does she get away with that?! Her polar opposite was a younger lady at the front in dark pink scrubs. She wasn't smiling either, but she sure was dancing in her chair and singing along to the rap from the radio! Yes, rap in a medical office! And this dancing and singing girl just jerks her thumb towards the woman next to her as a way of indicating that we should go to the next station to check out. We were in there less than half an hour and couldn't wait to get out. How does dear Dr. Rimer work all day, every day with such immature people? We will stay for him, and pray that he gets better office staff! read more

I've been going to this office for almost 2-3 years maybe more. First visit was great this doctor was recommended to me. Fast forward to today, getting an appointment is absolute hell. I've tried for the last 2 weeks for someone to pick up OR call back. Zero communication. Which seems to be repeated behavior. I went in person to try to get a refill on a medication and I was told next time I needed one I would need to be seen first. So here we are. Treated horribly. Diagnosis psoriasis. Given a recent on the market cream. Refused refills because I missed an appointment. Waited one month for appointment..I was late so the office manager wanted me to wait another month. Again no meds. My skin is very dry,, it hurts to sit,, rash is popping up everywhere. Still no help. I also asked the PA to call me a month ago, nothing. At the office I again I asked to talk with the PA,, the office manager refused. NMD is AMAZING! I was recommended by a friend. Their staff is ALWAYS going above and beyond with their customer service. We saw Dr Tripp who answered all my questions and also my kids. Terrible botox watered down. Didn't work 340.00 for nothing! No refund!

I am teetering on a two or three star review, but I decided on a two because I truly feel like I've experienced better. I used to go to a male dermatologist for several years and he was awesome - probably a five star because he always took time to listen to my issues and discuss options, but I had recently changed insurance that he did not take so I was bummed. I wanted to venture out to a female dermatologist assuming that she would understand me more in terms of the female insecurities that males do not understand. I've seen Dr. Tripp a few times now and I literally feel like I am a number. The service is extremely impersonal and I spend more time talking to the assistant than the actual doctor. I've never had issues before refilling medications without needing to make an appointment even after a year, but this clinic REQUIRES that you make an appointment if you haven't been seen more than a year. It was a huge inconvenience because I literally took the day off, drove there, talk to the assistant for at least 10 minutes to let her know why I was there (for a refill), then the doctor came in and I felt like she spent 5 minutes with me to say "hi", look at my face real quick and to just be given a new prescription for the same medication that I've had before! We discussed my issues rather quickly like a "speed dating session" but a "speed dermatologist session". We didn't really talk about other options or anything else that may be bothering me. I did have one more thing I thought about, but the doctor was out the door faster than me having that thought. The assistant had to find her just for her to pop in and answer. After that visit, I thought "What was the point of me coming in for that?! All they needed to do is approve a refill because I didn't get anything else out of that. " The only answer I could think of is to get clients for revenue. Now that it's been over two years since I've seen my last dermatologist, I think I might go back to him. David Mudge, PA, is the best. It's hard to feel comfortable when undergoing a skin cancer exam, but he really puts you at ease. Very professional and yet so personable and kind. I am a melanoma survivor and haven't been great about keeping my checkups, but with PA Mudge I am now scheduling them every six months as advised. The worse experience of my entire life with Nurse practitioner Kristen N. Peterson. She treated my mother as if she was untouchable or had Ebola. First she would not get close to her to see her eczema rash, then picking up my mother's sleeve with 2 fingers, while her body still standing far away, said yes, its eczema, which we already knew. Instead of checking on her patient she was too busy checking out our outfits. Maybe we are not the preferred type of patients she would like to have? Very sorry I went there, even her assistant was rude and kept cutting me off in the middle of sentence. To top it off, while i am paying the copay and returning the paper work, I could hear Kristen talking about us to her coworkers. Extremely unprofessional behavior. read more

When I first went to NMD a few years ago, I saw Dave Mudge. There's not enough stars to cover his service, knowledge and personality! He is very social and takes the time to go over treatment options with you. He doesn't make you feel like JUST A NUMBER, even though he see's more than 20 patients a day on the average. The people at the front desk are always very polite and helpful. I'm a firm believer in the "you reap what you sow" thing. I absolutely love this practice. I've always heard tales of woe about going to the dermatologist and it put me off finding one of my own until I absolutely had to. Luckily, I picked North Mountain Dermatology. Dr. Mudge is kind, comprehensive, understanding, knowledgeable, and funny. The staff is relaxed and personable. I found this office on ZocDoc, which is an awesomely easy way to schedule doctor appointments. Before my appointment, I went to their website and was able to download the new patient forms and fill them out beforehand, so I wouldn't have to do it at the office. That's always a plus in my book. I saw Dr. Tripp and she was perfectly pleasant -- I have no issues with her at all, and she is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. So they electronically sent my prescription to my office so I wouldn't have to bring it in by hand myself -- love that also! Here's where the problem started. I picked up my prescription, went home, and then noticed that it wasn't the medication that Dr. Tripp prescribed. It was actually the same medication that my PCP had prescribed, which hadn't worked, which is why I went to a specialist. I also told Dr. Tripp about the medication that my PCP prescribed that didn't work. I called the pharmacy, and they said that someone from the doctor's office had called earlier in the day to change the prescription. I called NMD the next morning and spoke with the medical assistant, who informed me that no one from their office had called to change the prescription, because nothing was noted in the file, and that she would call the pharmacy. I ended up calling the pharmacy back and spoke with the pharmacist, who gave me the name of the person from NMD who called to change the prescription, and the time that she called. I called NMD back and spoke with the medical assistant, who didn't apologize for the confusion, she just made a "CYA" statement that she didn't know anything about it. She then told me she was waiting for the pharmacist to call her back. So I called the pharmacist back and asked her to contact NMD. After a while, I received another call from the pharmacist saying that NMD had submitted another prescription, but it still wasn't the original prescription. Basically, my insurance wouldn't cover the medication NMD originally prescribed to me, but no one felt it was important to call me to communicate this, and worse, their first substitute prescription was one that I had told them I used before unsuccessfully. The fact that no one bothered to look at my file before issuing a substitute prescription is problematic. read more

I have had 3 Melanomas (two discovered and removed, while going to this doctor) , several squamous cell skin lesions and numerous basil cell lesions removed through the years. I had changed to this office because it is convenient to my home. However, when I go in for a yearly exam, she seems totally confused as to why I have come in. All the recommendations are for annual exams when one has a history of skin cancers, but she seems to have not reviewed my file and has no knowledge of my history. I have decided to go back to a previous Dermatologist, even though his office is a longer trip for me. (btw, none of my skin cancers have looked like the pictures shown as examples and I have discovered nearly all of them myself...then pointed them out to the doctors.) read more

He continually asked me what to look at and take care of next. I don't have insurance for the non-covered stuff I want to take care of and they offered very affordable packages for such stuff. I've been here twice to see David Mudge, PA. Both times I waited for less than 5 minutes, and was taken back before my appointment time. Both appointments were extremely fast. The MA brought me back and asked me a few questions, and came back about 2 minutes later with the PA. He walked into the room and immediately knew exactly what I needed. He also explained to me why the treatments I had tried in the past did not work for me. He gave me a timeline of exactly what to expect and was spot on. His treatment worked better for me than anything else I've tried. My follow up was even faster. I've been out the door less than 10 minutes after my appointment time both visits. As per their website "Office hours General Office hours: Monday thru Friday: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM" However, although there was someone there to take my call, they would not pick up a pen or log onto their computer to take down my appointment. I had a terrific experience with this office today. They had an appointment available in the early afternoon and got me right in. The pre-visit paperwork and new patient check-in process was simple and easy. I saw the P.A. Dave Mudge and he checked me thoroughly, answered my questions and took care of the few skin issues he found very efficiently. My first visit with Dave Mudge for my hand problem, incorrect diagnosis. After a month of being on medication that didn't help, my second visit with Dr. Tripp resulted in a biopsy which revealed the correct diagnosis. So far so good with her, however; follow up 3rd visit (Monday) she gave me the biopsy results and electronically sent to my pharmacy a rx for my condition, she instructed me to pick it up and then get the lab work done. I did. Get to the pharmacy and the rx is on hold until the office gets my lab work. Lab work done on Tuesday morning. Thursday morning Dr. Tripp MA called me "Ok to start medication", go to the pharmacy to pick up rx, medication still on hold. Called the NMD and was told "it'll be 15 minutes for us to call the pharmacy", I wait 30 minutes call the pharmacy and no call from NMD, the pharmacy calls NMD and 30 minutes later still no call from NMD. Dr. Tripp is thorough but the office staff is incompetent and I will be looking for another Derm after I pick up medication. I would not recommend this office on this alone b/c it is very frustrating. read more
