They double dip on you if you have Medicare. I had a non cancerous skin removal done. I was told that Medicare would not pay and had me pay upfront $129.00. Then they billed Medicare for the removal and got paid where I am only suppose to owe $19.36. Very sketchy and I will notify Medicare. read more

I almost don't want to review Dr Laffer for fear I won't get in to see him because he will be so busy! I've never had such a caring and knowledgeable dermatologist. He really speaks to you so you understand what you are dealing with. He should bottle his personality because the minute you meet him, he is like a breath of fresh air. Mind you, my entire family has been going to Advance Dermatology for well over 25 years or longer. Dr Laffer started with the group in 2020. So he is very new to our family and we couldn't be happier. I saw him today for a skin condition that has my body itching and bleeding. I received a steroid injection along with several prescriptions and we will follow up in 2 weeks. Other dermatologists in California (where I also reside) were quick to dismiss my concern with my itching and bumps which now were traveling from my neck and into my scalp. Dr Laffer knew immediately what I was dealing with. I couldn't be more grateful to him for his expertise! The only issue with him is....he's a Michigan fan instead of a Sun Devil fan! I just saw the doctor here, for my first time. She was great! The office is nice, clean and I didn't have to wait long at all! She saw me on time!! The skin check was very easy and thorough! The two stars are for Dr. Laffer and Dr. Halmi, who are good doctors. The medical assistants are also good with patients. That is the extent of the positive things I can say. If you are looking for a practice where your calls and messages go into a black hole and are never answered, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a corporate conglomerate with a loud call center in another state making your appointments, same. If you are looking for a practice that is patient centric and provides good service, this is not it. I just had a terrible experience there where they messed up a follow-up appointment I needed due to a problem I am having after a procedure they did, but they never actually saw me when I showed up at the appointed time. In fact, they ignored me for 30 minutes in the waiting room. After I went to ask about the delay, I heard them complaining about my appointment in the back while I waited again. I ended up having to leave because I ran out of time, and they told me to have a nice day despite the fact that they didn't see me or look at my infected wound. Now I have to make an appointment with another doctor somewhere else since it is clear that they do not care. read more

Beside feeling rushed through there, I could've had ten more lesions removed for what they billed my insurance, but they didn't tell me that or offer to do more. When I complained about the lack of communication that would've affected my decisions that day, the office manager said she'd get back to me and never did. Pretty shady IMO. Therefore, I do not recommend this practice. Also, there's only one BCBS Tier 1 provider there, so make sure you book with that specific provider if you don't want to pay a lot more. read more

We've been patients for several years and have always has the best possible care from our dermatologists and office staff!

Arrived 7 min early. Check in and no paperwork. Been there before. Within 5 min they call my name. Once in the room Dr's assistant asks necessary questions and states it's been two years from last visit. I answered time flies when you're having fun. She obviously is amused and tells Dr this as the first thing he says to me is time flies huh? Exam quick, thorough. Dr Laffer answers all my questions. No cancer lesions. Yeaaaa! Get dressed. Out the door and I see this beautiful intern or Dr. ,takes my breath away, volunteers directions to front desk. Once there, everything's good but she now wants to make appt for the next year. Smart thinking Doc, ha ha. I get home wife asks if something was wrong. No why? Well you got home so quickly. Appt 11:40, home 12:45. Five stars all around. read more

Nothing negative about physicians - great attitude, obvious knowledge. But support staff - if I could, I'd give them minus 15! I spent time filing out oodles of forms online to expedite check in at the time of the appointment. I also paid my co-pay and received confirmation. I get to my appointment and the young girl with an attitude (they all had an attitude, inexcusable) thrusts an ancient iPad at me and tells me to register. Well, I said, I did it online - they don't have it. That stupid iPad platform is beyond not intuitive, spent 20 minutes doing it (FOR THE SECOND TIME). I finish, hand them the stupid iPad and sit and wait and wait and wait and wait ... again - inexcusable. 40-minute or so wait AFTER the scheduled appointment time ... UGH! In that time some other patient who came in AFTER ME, went in for the same doctor ... hhhhmmm? What's wrong with this picture? Then they ask me to pay my copay - AGAIN - I tell them it was paid online, here is my confirmation email ... the young girl with an attitude, fortified and supported by two more with an equally rude attitude recites over and over - you did not pay we have no confirmation (????????). Ooookaaayyyy .... So I complain to the doctor, he takes a screenshot of the email ... and ... 6 weeks later I get the text with the bill and "it is time to pay your copay ..." or some similar rude "reminder." Whaaaaat??? Long story short - it took them quite a few hours to return my call ...same rude, disrespectful attitude ... oh yeah, they are calling to help ME???? No lady, I don't need your help, YOU and your office needs help with your records and a few other things, such as basic human decency and respect, compassion perhaps ... So, I asked they delete those insulting messages and never again try to contact me! I will be in search of a different dermatologist with a more refined, respectful front and administrative staff. It is VERY unfortunate because I liked the doctor. But it's a shame that such wonderful physicians have such pitiful and unacceptable staff. That doesn't reflect too positively on them and their expertise. Uppity and full of wrong attitude young beginners should never be allowed to work with the public until they learn to be compassionate, polite, quiet and understanding, show consideration for others, using tact, and observe social norms. OK this is amazing.... not only have they still not turned in the prescription... but the bump on my face that he told me he couldn't do anything about and that had scar tissue all the way around it and would need to be removed and only by surgery just came to ahead please see photos attached. Do not trust this office with your face. The one star I'm leaving is for five star service by Keena! What a wonderful personality and knowledgeable staff member! -1 Star - for the phone service I received. Repeatedly I asked them to explain to me they're $50-$210 price range for a cash visit. They were unable to give me specifics. Which usually means they're going to charge you in the higher range. I asked them to pull the recording so they could see how many times I asked them for the cash range price -1 Star - I didn't get any service because the guy that came to check in on me, Rod is from the old days before they used hydronic acid in prescription strength to soften skin. After he verified with a colleague he then told me he could indeed write me the prescription and send it to my pharmacy which is exactly what I came in for -1 Star - for the office manager who apparently does not have the authority to make a Customer Service decision that would've avoided review like this -1 Star - The office is old and dated and could definitely use new carpeting. Dr. Harvey somehow found a dangerous and aggressive skin cancer on my face, although I could see nothing. I had the surgery with Dr. Khan and a follow up appointment with Michelle Davis, PA. All the physicians and staff were extremely helpful and compassionate. This will be my lifelong dermatology office. read more

My dad has been a patient of PA Michelle Davis for years! I had a mole in my hairline that I was dreading getting removed for probably close to a year because I was so nervous about the process, the pain, the location of it, etc. Michelle made me feel so comfortable and the process could not have been more painless or easy! It took her less than a minute to remove the mole, and I felt so silly when I was done for spending so much time agonizing over it, and for not going through with it WAY sooner! I have been receiving exams qnd treatment from Dr Halmi for 16 years. He's outstanding and knowledgeable.

The worst dermatologist I've ever been to. First of all, they made me pay out-of-pocket for my appointment, claiming up and down that they don't take my insurance. They decided to tell me this AFTER my appointment and I had to just through hoops with my insurance company because it forms out they DO take my insurance. The doctor came in and laughed about my condition. Then she went on to prescribe me 4 medications but didn't give me the option to have them sent to my own pharmacy. She gave me the information for an over-the-phone pharmacy who didn't take my insurance. I called them everyday for a week to have them send my medications elsewhere and they never answered or called me back. It wasn't until I called the other locations that they responded. Please look elsewhere, this place is a nightmare to work with. read more

Although the whole staff was very friendly and I felt like they listened to my issues, I am not fully satisfied with the appointment charges. My initial appointment was $65 for the consultation and application of the patch test. My second appointment was for the reading of the patch test. After the initial reading didn't show much, it was recommended to schedule a delayed reading for the following day. I inquired if there was an idea of a treatment plan moving forward and was advised once the delayed reading was completed, we could discuss treatment. This appointment was $45. During check out, I asked if I would be charged again for the delay reading and was advised there should not be a charge. After my delayed reading appointment, I was advised that because treatment was discussed, there would be another $45 charge. If the driving factor for the charge during my third appointment was treatment plan discussion, then why was I charged $45 on my second appointment? It makes me skeptical of the services provided by this office and wishing I would have just returned to the CVS minute clinic for a one-time $25 copay with the same Rx of hydrocortisone. Instead, I feel like I wasted $155. read more

Advanced Dermatology has been very good to my family! The receptionist and front office staff are sweet, efficient and accommodating. The PA's are well qualified, knowledgeable and gentle. The Doctors affiliates with the practice are proficient at MOHS surgery and follow up care. Reviewing a business where the product is the expertise and work of those there is so different from reviewing a restaurant. The staff there is great. Dr Khan gets high ratings from both me and my dad. I would recommend this practice. They have offices in Phoenix, Gilbert and Scottsdale. read more

The doctor I saw was fine but try to call and ask a question and you'll be transferred several times, put on hold, told "the doctor will not speak to anyone" when inquiring about a call back about medication, then ultimately you will be disconnected and left to start the whole process over again. Took me three days of calling to get nowhere. I absolutely do not recommend this business for your dermatology needs. Do your research and find someplace with good doctors and good ratings! read more
