This is my nephew's favorite local spot…read more I was intrigued by the Filipino flavors. Big thanks to the person working the front who asked every patron if they had any allergies. My sisters got a mix of flavors that didn't really speak to me. I got halo halo and guanabana. What a mix! I made my sisters taste the halo halo because it was 10/10 good.

The gianduja crunch hazelnut was what brought me back. I visited on a Sunday afternoon in summer with the family, and it was packed. There was real no space to enjoy the ice cream either. In line, I noticed no one offered samples or took my order proactively until I reached the cash register, by then it was too late to sample. There were two guys manning the ice cream station, a lady manning the register, and a few in the back kitchen. I ordered a pint of the gianduja crunch, a single vanilla, and a single flan. The vanilla was average, it didn't wow me (I was hoping for something less sweet, more like haagen dazs vanilla bean). I think they used too much vanilla flavoring. The gianduja was very good and appropriate with a crunch, and the flan was solid too, glad we went with those. They seemed a bit disorganized when paying/receiving the order (chalk it up to being busy young adults). I had to ask multiple times if they had given my pint since they called my name out to give me the single serving but they were still working on mine but were also bringing out different order pints to other customers so it was a bit lack of communication and clarity that needed polishing. They also didn't have any cooler bags to sell or give out, which would be helpful for a 30-minute drive home in summer. Pricing was fair, not too expensive. I saw the awards the owner has displayed and was happy for them. Overall, the ice cream itself is a bit above average with some really interesting flavors. Glad to see small businesses like this open up. I do hope they can refine the customer service experience a bit more. Their ice cream has real potential to impress the right investors and grow if they can hire the right management team.

I was very disappointed to see styrofoam containers and plastic utensils. Both of those containers will slowly decompose over the next 500 years or so and pollute our ground water, soil or air. Obviously paper cups and bamboo utensils would be much better since they're both biodegradable.

With a strong Italian heritage, the Garden State makes a great destination for this joyous dessert…read more Gelato is the Italian word for "frozen" ice cream originally created in the 16th century. It came to the United States in 1770, is made with milk, typically does not include eggs, and has a dense texture from a slower churning speed than ice cream. Located on Market Street in Elmwood Park, my partner and I came to this family-operated establishment celebrating 25 years. Upon entering the cozy Four Seasons as first-timers, we were in the mood for some homemade gelato. There were a few classics one will find, such as chocolate, hazelnut, coffee, and stracciatella (vanilla with crunchy chocolate pieces), as well as pistachio, all written in Italian. They also feature hard ice cream, cakes, pastries, and coffee. We decided on a small chocolate and medium banana and sat outside at one of the two available tables. The texture was silkier and softer with a bold, intense flavor and authenticity. The price was comparable to the area. The young staff could have been a bit more sociable. We can recommend this place.
