I have been to this store couple of times. Loved some of the chocolate flavors they had. The staff members were friendly each time. In also got 10% discount for signing up with their rewards program. Venchi is so good. I've gotten from the one in Manhattan and this one is just as good. It's located in the Garden State Plaza mall, had some seating and is super clean. The employee who assisted us was very friendly, excellent at her job and even while we sat to eat our delicious gelato, I watched her come out from behind the counter and straighten up the shop. She tidied and arranged the chocolate bars, fixed anything that was crooked and really showed that she cares about her shop. The gelato she prepared for us was so good - dark chocolate, hazelnut, pistachio. We tasted a few others, but combined those 3 into a large cup. They sell other confections here, coffee and have many varieties of medium chocolate bars. Ugh. This place is so delicious. read more

PROS: The chocolate is handmade in Italy as they advertise it. There is a large variety of chocolates. The staff is friendly and there's even places to sit. CONS: For the basic chocolate it's $15 for 4oz, while other chocolate in small packages cost between $30-$60. it's overpriced. We stumbled upon Venchi in the middle of Garden State Plaza on the 4th of July, and it felt like stepping into a little pocket of calm in the chaos of the mall. The space was beautiful, and despite the steady flow of people, the two women behind the counter were so kind and made us feel genuinely welcome. They even spoke to us in Spanish to explain how everything works -- my wife especially appreciated that. They used a model cone to show the sizes and styles, which was super helpful (and adorable). We ordered a two-scoop cone to share -- I chose Cappuccino and my wife went bold with Parmigiano Reggiano. Honestly, both were amazing. The cappuccino was creamy, rich, and not too sweet. The parmigiano was surprisingly smooth and complex -- totally different and really well done. And the portion was very generous for a shared cone. The shop stayed in constant motion, but the two ladies never stopped being attentive and kind. You could feel they cared. Definitely coming back -- and next time, we're trying the chocolate. read more

I stopped in Venchi while shopping at Garden State Plaza. It has such a cute storefront with a wall of ice cream cones. Inside, there's a wide selection of gelato flavors. I went with the stracciatella gelato, which was topped with a cookie. It had a great taste! I made my own bag of chocolates and picked up gelato flavored ones. They were delicious! Specifically, I ordered the blood orange, pistachio, dark chocolate, and stracciatella chocolates. Very decadent in flavor. You can make your own bag of chocolates or buy gift boxes. This place was amazing. Something I found extremely unique about this business, was how they coated the cup ( I didn't want a cone) with chocolate and hazelnuts. This is what makes them very different from any other ice cream or gelato place. I was able to pick two flavors, I picked coconut & the dark chocolate or like fudgy gelato one. Let me just say that to me , this was the best gelato I've had. The flavors went so well with each other. As it melted, I would get a nice crunch from the hazelnut coating and that creamy and velvety taste and texture from the chocolate that coated the cup. Simply amazing! They also have a great selection of chocolates. The store is beautiful too. Looks like a chocolate boutique. Very pretty. The service was ok, the young lady who helped me seemed a bit lost when I said I was there for the yelp event. Severely lacking in either customer service or common sense. Tried to order their smallest size of mango gelato for my 4 year old and was told they were all out of their smallest sized cups and cones. So logically I asked if she could just put the same amount of gelato in the bigger cup. Her response: no can do, she would have to charge me for the bigger size. Huh? Venchi, a top notch experience and an expertise in chocolate making for 140yrs! Do you enjoy chocolate, better yet, imported Italian chocolate? Or Italian gilatos made with imported Italian ingredients? So exciting that they opened up a location here in New Jersey! Grand opening on 7/28, and my husband brought me there for a visit on 7/29 for a birthday treat! The employees take very care of their customers. I believe it was the store manager who walked us through all this recommended chocolates and gave us a back story of their Sicilian imported pastacio chocolates. Very knowledgeable and patience. The gilatos are a MUST try! My husband and I got a baby cup size each, very decadent and satisfying. I stopped by and enjoy the variety that Venchi offered....not only that; but all the ingredients are imported from Italy! I got the strawberry/mango flavors and glad I did. I was thinking about getting a chocolate flavor; but the double fruity flavors were perfect for the hot day. New in the mall, Venchi is an expensive little delight! They have tons of bulk chocolate in various flavors, and gelato! I wasn't a huge fan of the gelato (mango and straticella) because I felt there was no flavor for almost $8. However it was crowded, so it must be popular. The bulk chocolates were better, and I enjoyed the Chocoviar line. Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. I'll definitely come back for some more chocolate! read more

I love visiting the Venchi chocolate store at GSP whenever I am at the mall! I was recently shopping there and picked up my favorite caramel chocolates and a cremino chocolate bar and they were delicious as usual, but I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the employees. Some employees even hail from Italy originally and we were able to speak in italian together for an authentic and welcoming experience. The managers are extremely professional and so helpful when looking for new products to try. I specifically love how majority of the venchi products are completely gluten free so I can enjoy them safely with my celiac disease. Can't wait to go back for more caramel chocolates and the crème brûlée caviar chocolates! read more

Then i did taste each flavor and i was amazeng how really good taste the gelato. Being italian i can say that it is exactly how gelato is made in Italy. I arrived at the Venchi Shop this morning at the Garden State Plaza to purchase chocolates for myself and as gifts. I was greeted by Fabio and Edwin. Fabio was fabulous to work with. There were so many choices that I wanted all of them. These chocolates are well worth the money. I bought an assortment of the chocolate bars, boxed candy, candy by the pound, and truly wanted one of each candy. Fabio helped me choose ones that I would like, since I had them in Italy and loved them. He spent a lot of time with me, was very professional, very patient with all my questions, which he answered in that great Italian accent. The store is beautiful, clean, well lit , and inviting. I cannot wait to return again when it is holiday time. read more
