You will not receive better service anywhere. It's like going to a car dealership without being swarmed without false service but instead hugged in helpfulness and unbiased expertise. I saved money on one purchase, bought a part that wouldn't work for me without asking for help. Retuned hours later after noticing my mistake. Being informed of my mistake without bias. Allowed to return my opened merchandise without question. Offered many other options that would work. I wanted something very specific that Alpha Dog didn't have in stock. After they did some reset they informed me of where I could purchase one myself from an online retailer. I asked if they could order one for me so they would get something for they're help, expertise and time. They obliged and showed me a way that I could order it online through their store and it would save me money and they would also gain. Thinking outside the box and what's best for the customer seems to me their priority. I'm located in Avondale and will recommend them to everyone I come across and will visit regularly passing many other stores just knowing I will be smiling when leaving their store weather empty handed or with a truckload. Loved this place the first time I went even though I felt like some of the employees completely ignored me (thank you Tony, Jacob, and Heather). The owner (I think) came out from the back talked down to his employees, made an off color comment towards this young girl regarding "big guns" that clearly upset some women. Because of Tony, Jacob, and Heather I tried to come back to the store but I got really uncomfortable with some of the conversations going on. There were a lot of racial comments made about customers who called in during my visit which clearly made some of the customers uncomfortable. Comments such as "only black people call about extendo clips" and "f**^ these ghetto ass people" (said under someone's breath but customers could hear" right after a Hispanic couple left and "we should do color swatches instead of race or ethnicity". Makes you think about what they say about customers behind closed doors. As an addition: there was a guy with a beard and a hat who was also amazing and really seemed to know about guns. I usually don't write reviews but the service at Alpha Dog warrants one. I have only had about 3 dealings with them so I can get my BRCC coffee. The first time I was in, I was ignored completely by the owner, but whatever. Once the only employee who was working at the time finished his story of how tough and cool he was, I was able to checkout. He was telling a story of holding a guy at gunpoint or something and most of his story sounded pretty sketchy to the point where he may have been in the wrong. At this last weekends gun show I saw their booth and went to grab so more coffee. Upon being rung up I was met by a women who was very blah with zero personality. She made no attempt at conversation, there was no thank you, good afternoon..nothing. I was basically treated like a stray dog and sent on my way. Horrible customer service, strange and probably questionable employees. I don't tip bad service, I also do not shop at places that seem elitist. Great LGS (Local Gun Shop) experience! Great selection, very competitive prices. I pretty much knew what I wanted when I walked in, but Ben T. (one of the founding members of the shop) answered all my remaining questions, and gave a great walk-through on basic take-down of my selection. It's also great to know that there are Military Veterans working here, and that they give other Veterans (like myself) a decent discount. Left leaning employees. Plus, The lady stole $68 from me, instead of telling me to put it on layaway for $25. Since they were closing she said to buy it and wait til the paperwork is processed which I said I was concerned I might get denied. Sure enough because of a MJ charge 5yrs ago I got denied. So I went back in to get the refund and she took 1/3 of what I paid because of the "reboxing/paperwork." It was the display gun so that was BS, and the paperwork costs nothing besides 2 minutes of time. Nice trick to steal $$ from me. Called her out. Stole my money still. When ur there reach out to TJ he's always informational and makes sure u can get what ur looking for or something that is matched or let u know before u waist time trying to look for something that they don't have.
