There is an instagram page named "smith_outdoor" that uses Route 66's business address and advertises extremely low pricing on bulk ammo. That page is absolute fraud and will 100 percent steal your money. I spoke to the owner of Route 66, Esmeralda, and she informed that she has been reporting that page for a while now, but instagram refuses to do anything about it. Just letting everyone know if they come across an account on instagram or any other platform advertising ammo at extremely low costs with Route 66's business address listed on there, it's 100 percent fraud. Route 66 Pawn is a top notch business that aims to please their customers, especially Esmeralda. Looking forward to stopping by and seeing what they have! read more

After a quick review of previous posts (call it life after Wayne) the negative posts are spot on. I had done buisness with Wayne and staff for years with top notch customer service. It was so pleasant I would stop when in the area just to see what's new. That was then, this is now. As soon as you pull into the parking lot, stop, think, TURN AROUND!! Your entry to the establishment will sour your entire day. The old women I had the displeasure of speaking with today has no concept of customer service. I arrived with my "law enforcement " grandson to do a simple firearm transfer. Grandpa transferring pistol to grandson, easy simple transaction, I know, I held an FFL for many years. From the time we walked in she was hostile and carried on with BS reasons she couldn't do that type of transfer. She could buy it, then sell it back to us!! Another reason was it could be stolen, are you fn kidding me. Easy to check. Your WEB page brags on cheap transfers, looks like this belongs with the rest of reviews on false statements. WEB page brags about large gun inventory, wrong, very limited selection and over priced. Look, bottom line, there are so many other places to shop. I wouldn't give this place a second thought. read more

Terrible customer service honestly, left me sitting at door for a cool five minutes then doesn't even look at what I have to pawn. Wouldn't recommend going here to pawn anything unless it's a firearm read more

Do not shop here they do not buy anything very big time wasters and he looked at very, very mad and I guess you don't like customers I would never walk in this pawnshop again read more

Went in looking for a little help with some gun repairs. Dillon not only fixed my lower, but he greased my gun and did a piston test that led to yet another repair. And he did all this gracefully while answering all my newbie questions and explaining everything. The selection isn't expansive, but there Is something for everyone. And my favorite way to start a hobby is when you can have the option of good, better, best. Pawn 66 suites my needs, and with the ability to trade in and trade up its going to be my gun shop for the foreseeable future. read more

Did an FFL transfer here and will be back to buy from them in the future. Helpful staff, friendly interactiona and good selection of stuff to look at while waiting for FFL to go through. Was very happy with my experience. Would reccomend! read more

Been coming here for a few years now. They are top notch and they have always been super nice, great customer service and great selection. No it's not Sportsman's Warehouse and I don't want it to be. They actually have had a box or two of ammo in every caliber I wanted every time I come. Their shop is sparkling clean and bright, they have interesting firearms every time I go, and the prices for those are reasonable, even during this era of panic buying and hoarding. I don't buy on Gunbroker so I can't comment much on that, but they probably can't sell things for the same price as an online store since there are credit card and GB fees. I have sent a few friends to this shop, and they were treated with nothing but niceness. The key to shopping at any gun store is to not give any attitude or take things the wrong way, and be patient. Purchasing a firearm is serious business regulated by the federal government and you should never joke around, act squirrely or have attitude when purchasing a gun. If you can do that, you will be rewarded with a quick, pleasant and clean transaction and the firearm of your dreams. I've managed to do this many times. Oh yeah, also inspect the firearm thoroughly before you buy, especially a used firearm, and don't expect to return it like that shirt you bought at Kohl's. In summation, I like this place quite a lot. The employees are nice, efficient, know their stuff forward and backward and are super helpful every time I come in, even if it's for a transfer. I drive by probably 20 other gun stores to get to them for a reason. read more

What a dump Social media makes it look like a great shop, with tons of ammo so just made a trip to check them out. 2 guys working there didn't even look up from their phones for a few mins then when I asked about ammo. "We don't sell in bulk" I was so shocked at the shop, I opened up IG to look up some pics and posts to check and make sure I'm even in the right place, then one of the guys gets on my case for being on my cell phone. "We have signs up all over saying no cellphones". - "I'm on your guy's IG page trying to look up what you guys sell because no one is helping, but I'm good. Thank you". Just proved what I always say. NEVER go to pawn shops to buy guns or ammo, always rip offs and BS. read more

Outstanding customer service. I meant to write this review last year but here it is. Last year I was on my way to shoot as I usually do on the weekends. I got a call from a dear friend of mine and in the moment invited him to go shooting with me. We went shooting and what can I say, we blast. It's shooting. Well he took to one of my guns, a Ruger P97DC chambered in .45ACP and so I sold it to him. Legally I was not obligated to do anything else as it was a private party sale but I still chose to put this transaction in writing. We came into this wonderful establishment and without a problem they helped us out. They could have told me to get my document done elsewhere since I was not intending to make a purchase but they chose to help me out and with great energy. I mean I felt as if I was with family which to me is a great feeling when doing business. I WILL DEFINITELY patronize this place when I'm in the area, as a gun owner I can always use more ammunition or magazines. read more

So I went in to purchase this gun they have advertised online. They told me the price went up $699 they said supply and demand. They advertised the price $499 when I went in it was $699. Don't waste your time with this place. They also told me this was a old post. If it's old take it down. False advertising and price gouging read more

Route 66 Pawn & Gun - Pawn Shops Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

Good selection of overpriced used firearms. No phones allowed here, just like your back in middle school.

Don't waste your time doing business with this company... Here's why!!! I was watching a firearm on gunbroker.com that was posted by this company and contacted them about the pricing in efforts to make a deal on the firearm. I spoke to a lady (Manager or owner) about the firearm and let her know that it seemed to be a bit high on the price relative to what these firearms are selling for. She even acknowledged that the pricing was high and said she knew it would take a while to sell this firearm. I also identified a website that would show actual valuations and the lady had no interest. She said that she would ride this firearms bubble being a seller's market. I said ok, thanks, and ended the call. I continued to watch the firearm on gunbroker.com, and just as expected no bids as the auction ended. This only exemplifies what I was speaking to the lady about. People that would have interest in it are looking somewhere else with more reasonable pricing. So I called again, trying to see if there was any interest in lowering the price since the item ended with zero bids. When I spoke with the lady she started speaking to me with some sort of chip on her shoulder. She told me that I don't get to dictate the pricing on firearms and that she is dictating this market because it's a seller's market. This lady then had the audacity to yell at me by telling me I'm harassing her and that I need to look somewhere else just before hanging up on me. This lady just alienated me as a customer forever. I will never consider doing business with this company and I hope you save yourself some pain and frustrations by doing the same. read more

After I made the mistake of forgetting my wedding ring two hours before the ceremony, I came here in hopes of finding a replacement for the day. After trying on all the rings they had I thought I was out of luck until the lady working the counter (I wish I could remember her name as she was the best!) told me she thinks she had one in the back that they just got in and sure enough it fit! They polished it right then and there to get it looking nice and shiny for my big day! Not only was the staff super friendly and helpful, but they were able to help me find a ring that fit perfect and gave me an amazing price! I highly recommend this place and can't thank the staff enough for all of their help! read more

Jesse was awesome, helped me out 100 Percent of the way. Can tell he really takes his job serious. Definitely will be back soon!

I have been to this Pawn shop a few times and all the workers are very kind and knowledgeable with what they have. I always feel welcome when I walk through the door. The owner is very nice and personable. Great place to shop and have great prices. I would definitely recommend. read more

Just left the shop from picking up my gun, I have to say the nicest people to get along with and cut a deal with, they took care of in both a deal and customer service, I would recommend this place to anyone that needs the service of a well run Pawn Shop read more

Asked the price of a used gun and they wanted MSRP for it..... I thought it was a joke and gave a real cash offer and was told, "No, I need that price and I have to charge tax." I tried to explain the realistic value of the gun and I was snarled at that they had the best price around and that my price was unrealistic. All I said was that I couldn't be mean and steal such a great deal from someone else more needing, so I left without. .... GunBroker... Buy Now....Sort Price Low to High...... read more

Very nice and friendly, also very helpful. Was able to make a purchase with a tight budget! Would definitely come again!

Great selection of firearms and friendly staff that really know their stuff. I'll be back for sure!

Nice, clean pawn shop! Lots of guns and ammo. Shop owners were super knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing was really good, they aren't price gouging even with the high demand on guns/ammo. They have an in-house gunsmith, I'll be dropping off an old rifle to be repaired. read more

Dylan was very helpful and kind and helped me out with my new rifle purchase fast and dependable definitely coming back in soon

Worst experience I had there. I waited 10 minutes for anyone to say or help me in anyway. Then when I got the help, the lady helped me for a certain time then left without asking me if I needed any other assistance. Even tho i told her i was looking for other things that was there, very poor customer service. Will not go there again unless there are better customer service. read more

Walked in with 4 fire arms to sell after already getting a quote at another establishment. I open up the cases to show the man there the guns and he spits out a number $500 lower than the quote I got at another store without even nothing to look up the make and models of the firearms to see how much they are worth. Did not even pretend to do his research. Don't go here they will try to rip you off read more

Not your typical gun shop. I was very surprised at the kind and friendly demeanor of the employees here. It has often been my experience elsewhere that gunshop employees are aloof and have an air of superiority. Wayne is the exact opposite. Very down to earth and friendly. No pretentious vibes, just a desire to help and educate. I came in looking for a particular model of handgun. He didn't have it but offered to special order it no problem. He was happy to show me a few similar models and chit chatted with me a bit. I was very surprised he let me handle two of his personal firearms, some kitted out ar 15s. Very slick weapons and so cool that he didn't mind sharing them with a random guy walking in the door. He recommended a few local shooting ranges that had the same weapon I was looking to purchase for rental and encouraged me to try it before I buy it. Grade A service. Price was very reasonable too. Under MSRP out the door and very close in price to many of the online dealers for the particular item I was looking for. read more

Their prices are always better than fair and when compared to other pawn shops they beat them hands down on price and customer service.

Always a pleasure to do business with. Wayne and Travis have helped me out on a lot of purchases and are always willing to explain how things work in great detail. Their prices are always better than fair and when compared to other pawn shops they beat them hands down on price and customer service. I have bought just about every type of ammo from them and what is real shocking is that when no one else has ammo they normally do. I have also bought several tools from them and have never had a problem. I am sure if I ever did have a problem they would make it right any way they could. I have recommended them to everyone I know looking for a gun not only because they are the cheapest on used guns but also because they tend to have the hard to find guns. I will continue to recommend all my friends to them and anyone looking for great customer service and good pricing. read more

These guys run a fair, reasonable, Pawn Business. I highly recommend.

I won an auction with for a rifle from these people on Gun Broker. They have refused to honor the auction price and tried to blame Gun Broker for their mistake. This is unethical behavior! read more

I took my firearm in to sell , they gave me a quote which I thought was a bit low but thanked them and asked if I may return if I don't get a better offer. They said yes, I came back 5 days later they were no longer interested and didn't honor their original quote. Horrible way to conduct a business. read more
