Stopped here for dinner, great decision! The food is absolutely delicious, the Peruvian chicken is seasoned so well and is so tender, the quinoa salad was delicious, the plantains are phenomenal Restaurant is brand new, so it is very clean, the atmosphere is casual and very friendly and welcoming and very well lit. The service was fast, my quarter chicken combo was ready first, we did have to wait about five minutes for the quinoa salad. Plenty of parking with a dedicated parking lot, location of South Main! We will definitely come back!

I really like their cute logo.

There are many businesses packed into this small area, and I'd complain if the newest addition were anything other than Alpaca Chicken! This location is tucked away, set behind the Wendy's and Valvoline. I visited on a Friday around 11:45am and there was one parking space left. I thought it was going to be crowded, but it turns out there just isn't much parking. The outside is very pretty, clean and stands out among the surrounding establishments. There's a lot of outdoor seating. As you go in you'll see a large menu overhead and you order cafeteria style. I got 1/4 dark meat and two sides. My sides were premium - green beans and plantains. My husband got the same but with rice and black beans, which are considered regular sides, no up charge (he's not fancy like me). For two meals with soft drinks it was around $28 and that initially felt pricey, then I think, this is real food. The chicken was absolutely delicious, like nothing I've had anywhere else. Crispy skin, tender meat, a little smokey. The green beans were delicious, perfectly cooked with some garlicky sauce, and the plantains were also some of the best I've ever had. Everything was nice and hot, fresh. The two sauces (green and yellow - that's what they are called) taste house made , with the green having a little kick. The service was very friendly. I imagine this location will do very well. I'm excited to go back and try other items such as the Arroz Chaufa - A Peruvian style stir-fried rice with chicken, sausage, egg and scallions. They have daily specials as well!

Shared portion of 1/4 white meat chicken, sweet plantains, coleslaw. Chicken Tuesday taco special.

Obviously, this is our first time, but what we got was amazing. We each got one of the lunch specials. She got boneless wings with the seasoned fries, and I got the wings with the radish. I got the sauce that starts with a "y", and she got half Korean BBQ and half the "Y" sauce. She enjoyed both of the sauces, but liked the BBQ one best. She also ordered one of those Korean "corn dogs" with cinnamon sugar on it, and the Kewpie mayo. I wouldn't get the pickled radish again, it's not what I've eaten elsewhere, but who cares when the wings were so awesome.........amazing........I think young people say they are fire......and they were. The fries were crispy, the wings crispy and well-sauced.......................and I cannot wait to go again. To top it off, our server, Madden, was wonderful. Not named after those guys from the band, Good Charlotte, but after John Madden! The fried chicken was crispy and fried hard just the way I like it, with plenty of flavor in every bite. The greens were seasoned perfectly, and the yams were sweet with a great texture--not too hard and not too soft. I visited on a hot summer day, and the restaurant can get pretty loud and a little stuffy when it's busy. Thankfully, they had fans placed throughout the space, which made it much more comfortable. Dishes vary from day to day but the fried chicken, baked chicken, and fried pork chops are staples. Plates come with two sides and you can see from the photo why the blackeyed peas are so good (spoiler alert - it's bacon, lots of bacon). Collards are also delicious and the yams are mildly sweet without being cloying. The banana pudding is gloriously warm and the meringue is fluffy. The pudding is a touch too sweet and I could have done with more bananas but it was large enough to share. The staff is genuinely happy to see you and are happy to talk about their work, if you like. The room is a bit bare bones and the bathrooms are rudimentary and cramped but everything works. There is parking directly in front of the restaurant. Thanksgiving take-out is available for pre-order (see photo). I have a strong feeling you won't go wrong with any of the choices.

When we lived in Virginia SCNB was a definite stop while traveling in North Carolina. For many years we only ordered the bbq, until one year, my wife tried the fried chicken. OMG. They do chicken right. It reminds me of fried chicken when growing up. The seasoning is the best. Not hot and spicy but just gooood. Publix fried chicken comes close but SCNB always comes out on top. Next come the sides. The Brunswick stew tastes like the recipe is generations in the making. It is thick, meaty, and loaded with vegetables. We made 2 trips during the week we were here. The first time I got the chicken and bbq plate, also came with fries and hush puppies and also Cole slaw. As a Florida native. My idea of bbq is different. I'm used to sweet and tangy sauce or a golden mustard sauce. Their sauces are vinegar based with a bit of tomato paste for color and red pepper flakes. I will say it's an acquired taste. It wasn't bad. Their fried chicken was really crispy and it was really juicy, hot and fresh. I also tried their banana pudding which was pretty good. Could have more cookies and add whipped cream, but that's my personal taste. My second trip on the advice of my boyfriend I got the bbq sandwich which you can get with Cole slaw on and then add their vinegar bbq sauce and that was WAY better!! The tangy and creamy together was great. I also go their 3 piece tender snack pack. Wow these tenders were enormous! I had to take them home. One was as big as my hand! Also shared a hotdog with slaw on it and that was meh. I wouldn't get that again didn't care for the hotdog wasn't big enough or juicy enough.

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland.
