The food was delicious! The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything tasted fresh, and it was easy to see why Alpaca is a local favorite. I went with the Peruvian fried rice, yuca, tostones, maduros, two chicken orders 1/4 and 1/2 chicken, and frijoles. The only small mishap was that I was given two 1/4 chickens when they were supposed to do one 1/4 and one 1/2. Since I didn't notice until after the fact, I had to make the trip back. The staff handled it very professionally, apologized for the mistake, and happily replaced it with a brand-new half chicken without any hassle. Everyone was friendly and made things right. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but great customer service is how a business responds, and Alpaca did exactly that. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area! read more

Went here while on a work trip. Part of a shopping complex so lots of nearby parking. I really liked the interior design, felt like I was back in Peru. Service was friendly. You order at the front and they bring your food to your table. Love that they had Inca Cola (a soda very popular in Peru). My only suggestion is to put some more spices on the chicken. Without adding any sauce it was quite bland. read more

Was in the area at sketchers, hungry, looking for a new place and Deilio that close and not too carby. People were nice. Menus were present everywhere, basically little explanation, though. 1/4 chicken, 1/2 chicken, or full chicken. Hmmm sounds interesting. Got a 1/4 chicken combo, which comes with 2 sides. got the green beans, and everything else was some kind of really heavy carb. I asked if they could do something that didn't have that may carbs, and they said they had a side salad. Ok, that's cool, I'll do that. The beans were sauteed in a pound of butter, kind of mushy, the salad was about 1/2 cup in a very small boat. IDK, maybe growing up on a farm has still spoiled me years later. The 1/4 chicken was almost 12 bucks, and consisted of a leg and a thigh... I guess that is a quarter chicken. Ok, fine. When I got the plate, it was free range central American size chicken, if you know what I mean. Very small, skinny, not very much meat. It tasted ok, and I ate everything but the beans :( ... I was starving by the end of my 6-minute meal. I should have gotten the half chicken at a minimum, maybe the full, then the price jumps to 16 and 30 bucks respectively. Ate a bag of jerky when I got back to my office. It was fairly clean, and people were coming around to collect the trash which is nice. Not enough for me to be a comeback guest, though. It seemed popular enough, though, not packed but steady. read more

I came here on a Monday for lunch. The staff is friendly. The restaurant was busy but service was quick. I had the arroz chaufa and it was delicious. The sausage and chicken was cooked perfect and there was plenty within the fried rice. The side salad was great and the cilantro dressing they made was perfect with it and the arroz chufa. The plantains were also very delicious so I highly recommend. They were so good and cooked perfectly. They weren't too sweet either. You do need to empty your trays and put them up before leaving so don't leave them on the table. read more

This Alpaca location is in Brier Creek, which makes it very easy for me to get to from North Raleigh. Being in Brier Creek also means ample parking, I parked right out front. I stopped in on a Tuesday to introduce a buddy to Alpaca. Since my family's tastes don't really run in this direction, I usually come either on my own or with a friend when I get the chance. I've been visiting this particular location off and on for years. I ordered my usual: ¼ chicken plate Black beans and rice (with the beans over the rice) Plantains Unsweetened iced tea with lemon Total was $15.18 + tax and tip. As always, the food was excellent and the service was as well. No matter which Alpaca location I've visited, though this one is my regular, the experience has been remarkably consistent. They staff generously which allows for excellent service with people who seem to care, and the food is thoughtfully prepared. I also appreciate that this location has expanded; seating used to be a challenge, and now it's a friendly, lively, and comfortable space. While everything on the plate is good, I'll be honest: what I most look forward to every time is the black beans and rice. Even though I grew up eating them, it's surprisingly hard to find black beans with this much depth and flavor. Alpaca does them exceptionally well, and I really appreciate that. I always enjoy my visits here when I get the chance. read more

The chicken was really good and tender. Loved the plantains. They offer classic Peruvian dishes you see when you are down there.

Service was great, and there was not a long wait time to receive my food. The restaurant was colorful and clean, but the meat in the Chaufa rice was scarce. The meat had been chopped to minced pieces of meat. That was a shame, since the Chaufa rice is around $13. The crowd was steady. I recommend this restaurant, but I recommend chicken, rice, chicken noodle soup, and beans, instead of the Chaufa meal. Check it out! read more

I had seen a few of these in the Raleigh area on my visit. The night I was staying at the Westin I walked over to this huge outdoor mall and found Aplaca and decided to give it a try. Honestly, roasted chicken sounded great. I had a difficult time understanding what the woman behind the counter was asking me. Thankfully, the young man cutting the chicken could tell me. The chicken is flavorful and moist. The rice is perfect and took me back to Peru. Place is order food at a counter, get a tray, pay for it and sit down. Bust your own tables. I was able to get a glass for water. Overall, I would come back if in the area. I wish I spoke Spanish to communicate with staff better. read more

I've tried this place a few times and it has always been solid. They have daily specials which provides an opportunity to try different menu items. I've had the chicken tacos ( good but a bit too much liquid inside. It dripped out like water, but the chicken was flavorful.). I've also tried the chicken dish with the rice and sautéed veggies. Again, solid. No fanfare. The plantains were good with nice caramelization. My mom seemed to enjoy her steak dish as well. It's definitely on the better and healthier end of fast food. Service is fast and friendly and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and easy parking. I want to try the half chicken and a few other menu items so I'll be back. Oh. They give you French fries with just about everything. The only problem is that on some of the dishes they put the other menu items on top of the fries making them soggy. So yeah. read more

Good food, clean place and the service was great. I will try this place again. Food hot and fresh.

Absolutely looooove this place! I came here on a Wednesday and ordered their Special of the Day - Chop Chop. It was so delicious, the only bad thing is that it's ONLY on Wednesday's! But a great restaurant nonetheless and always busy, that's how you KNOW it's good. read more

The most inconsistent Alpaca location - food is usually fine but they run out of chicken pieces late in the day, and the freshness of sides varies. I also have no issue with unisex/family restrooms, but having only two single stall restrooms for a large restaurant is inadequate. Today, late on a Sunday, the whole restaurant was badly in need of a cleaning - numerous tables needing cleared, sauces all over the condiment bar, out of forks, etc. There was ample staff milling about that could have improved things. Not a pleasant visit. read more

Not sure if a few extra charcoal bricks were added, but the flavor, on this particular visit, was amplified. Tender and flavorful! One cooked chicken is $16.00 without sides - delicious and affordable. Alpaca Davidson Ave vs Alpaca Brier Creek: 5 out 5 read more

Over two years later, still 5/5 stars. The staff are SO friendly. This place is always slammed but everyone is so nice! The food remains amazing and unlike other places during Covid land and inflation land, this place did not scale back their portions. Still favorites: chicken, green beans, maduros. The yellow sauce is the best comfort food ever. And the green sauce never disappoints. Interior is always super clean and just feels fresh and bright. Parking is well typical of Brier Creek but they have to go spots up front if you order online for carry out. read more

Delicious chicken at this outlet of local chain. The store in Briar Creek is sleek and modern. About a dozen tables inside. Salsa music plays just a little too loudly, decor is bright and colorful. Service is cafeteria-style, food from the service line is collected at the cashier; food from the kitchen is delivered to the table. Service is quick and friendly. The chicken is cooked rotisserie-style over charcoal. Skin is gloriously crunchy with just a hint of the charcoal smoke. Meat is juicy and tender, cooked perfectly. The quarter chicken is a breast and a wing; enough for lunch, but you'll want more for dinner. There are many sides to choose from, I selected rice and beans and plantains. A ladle of long-simmered, perfectly seasoned black beans is served over scoop of sticky white. Delicious, though could have used a sprinkle of chopped onions. Plantains, one of my favorites, are glazed and fried to sticky, sweet perfection. If you're craving hot, fresh, perfect rotisserie chicken, this is your spot. read more

I finally checked out Alpaca today for lunch and I'm very satisfied. They offer large portions and high quality Peruvian plates. I decided on the 1/2 chicken, chicken soup, tostones and a house salad that I never received. The food was very flavorful and fresh, so I will not cry over the missing salad. There was so much food for the money I can save some for dinner. The soup was ok. What I really enjoyed was how moist and flavorful the roasted chicken was. It was perfectly charred to perfection with a smoked flavor. The tostones were also very good. What I enjoy most when dining Peruvian is the flavorful sauces. The green being my favorite. I believe it's jalapeño. It gives the food some kick. I enjoy dipping my tostones and chicken in the green sauce. I will definitely return when I'm not up for cooking at home. read more

I met my boyfriend up here for lunch yesterday. This location is much smaller than the one I frequent in Garner. I ordered the 1/4 white chicken with yuca fries and rice and beans. My boyfriend ordered 1/4 white with fries and corn. When I was ordering I felt rushed by the employees working behind the counter. When I sat down to eat, I realized I was given dark meat instead of white. I was bummed but I didn't feel like complaining so I just dealt with it. The rice and beans and yuca fries were excellent. But from now on, I'm sticking with the Garner location. read more

Food: 3.5 Service: 4.5 Ambience: 2 Order: Arroz Chaufa substitute salad for fries Date/Time: 1/8/2022 6:30pm Crowd: 3/4 full + 10 in line It was tough giving the overall rating this restaurant due to the varied levels of performance in each category. The service was highest in my opinion with just about every staff member being nice, efficient and focused. Whenever I walked up to ask for something, they immediately acknowledged me and took care of it. They kept the self serve area clean but what did surprise me was the utensils being in that area rather than either being provided when served or stocked with "to go" utensils. The Arroz Chaufa was good but the fries were thick fries and not very crispy so more potato-y and no spice (salt or otherwise). The place itself was tightly packed with booths on the outer perimeter of the dining area and packed in table/chairs on the interior. The booths are small so 4 people was a snug fit. And the noise level was incredibly high to the point a conversation was a challenge. I would recommend it but for take out only. read more

My order: 1/4 Dark Chicken with rice, green beans and fries This is my GO TO order. I like to use the green sauce and that's it. No need for extra salt, pepper, or sauces. The spice in the green sauce just kicks the meal up a notch. The fries are hand cut so they're always crunchy outside and full of fluffy potato inside. I was waiting at this restaurant for my friend to arrive and the door never stopped opening and closing. And it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon and this continued for hours as we sat outside and watched the steady stream of traffic frequent this establishment. First off, food was so incredibly full of flavor. Even the napkins are named. Such a cute deli style food place. Can see into the kitchen area with the heavenly scents of the chicken. Yummy. Place was clean and even had real silverware. The drink option also contained a soda from Peru called inca kola. Reminds me of bubblegum cream soda. So good. Glad I tried a new restaurant. read more

I'm glad to see Alpaca continuing to expand in this area - our family always enjoys it. My last visit to this location was on a busy Thursday evening with the line being extremely long. Thankfully, they have the option to order online which is what I ended up doing. I usually get chicken with yucca fries and maduros (sweet plantains). The chicken and plantains were good, but the yucca fries were overcooked / over-fried, making them extremely hard in texture and honestly difficult to eat. I don't frequent this Alpaca location, so I'm not sure if this was a one-off event and consistency was just not there that day. But otherwise, the food was good. read more
