Was at the food truck rodeo in downtown Raleigh and wanted to try the jerk food at Levy's. The line…read morewas very long and the place was recommended by people who were in lone waiting. We only ordered one item, the jerk/bbq wings that came with one side. And yes, the wing sauce was both jerk and bbq mixed. Not as spicy as a normal jerk sauce because of the mix with bbq but very good together. The wings were cooked well and still juicy and meaty. Came with one side and they had a great list of side but we tried the rice and peas. If you have never had it, it is rice with red beans with a little spice. We would recommend compared to plain white rice. The menu had great variety and we would have liked to tried the curry goat and brown chicken, however, we went to 4 trucks before this stop because it was the food truck rodeo. The line was long but moved pretty smooth and all the food was hot and fresh. Great friendly staff. Food was packed in closed boxes with silverware and bagged. This was great since we were taking it home and went to other trucks at the event. We will definitely be back for more. Very authentic Jamaican food.

The yum yum sauce was on the side. My friend got lemon pepper wings. The cashier was friendly. Loved the decor and setup of the restaurant with a variety of tables and counter seating overlooking the cooking area. We got our food close to closing, so we took it to go. My food looked and tasted great! My friend had to put her wings in the air fryer when we got home. My food was good, but it's definitely a fusion not classic Jamaican. I was craving curry sauce and they don't have it. It is fairly pricey. My bowl alone was over $14, when you think about the ingredients- rice, cabbage, corn, yams- the most expensive thing is yams and I'd be surprised if you get a whole one. You're paying for ambiance, location convenience and overhead. Food, flavors were good, staff was pleasant and establishment was clean. Would return.

While the location is great, the business doesn't stand out well enough to attract those that may not be looking for it. I parked into the back and entered the back door. While they sell soul food, the vibes feel super Jamaican. Black paint with green and yellow accents. Fairly large and very clean dining area. The cashier didn't really greet me when I walked up. She wasn't rude, but she wasn't friendly or welcoming. She did complement my shirt. Her non-verbal cues made me feel rushed. I had to ask her if they were sold out of anything. That information was not offered. I also had to ask her the price. I ended up ordering the lamb chops plate that came with rice, and two side. I opted for the collards and mac n cheese. It took maybe 5-8 minutes for my plate to come out. 3 other people came in, ordered and left before I did. I think it was because theybhad to grill the lamb chops. Visually the food looked delicious. Very generous serving of everything. However, the collards were the most disappointing collards I've ever had. They didn't taste bad. They just weren't seasoned AT ALL!! they just tasted like a collard with pepper flakes. The rice was just plain and Not seasoned. The mac n cheese was pretty good. They need to season the pasta a bit more and use a more flavorful cheese. The star was the lamb chops. They were a good size, seasoned extremely well, tender, and grilled to perfection! On top of that they gave me 4. They're They're the reason I'm giving 4 stars. I washed all of that down with a slice of their pineapple cake. It tasted like box cake with canned crushed pineapple on top. But it was delicious. I'd go back just for the lamb chops and cake. At $40 though, i won't go back too often. I hope the other sides are much better though!!

On my first visit, I ordered the hamburger steak with rice, along with mac and cheese and green beans for my sides. Everything was good and full of flavor. The sides definitely gave classic comfort, out-the-box/canned vibes--but still seasoned well and satisfying. Most importantly, it's refreshing to have something in Garner that isn't just another traditional fast-food spot. The service was great and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back and trying more off the menu!

I selected my two side choices, which were mac and cheese and collard greens. Despite the price that was listed on the overhead menu for the snack selection, which included two sides, I was told I had to pay an upcharge of $3.00 for the mac and cheese. I did not want to argue about something that I felt was unfair and inappropriate. What made the situation really disturbing was that the overcharged mac and cheese was ruined because it was placed and mixed with the oxtail meat and oxtail juices. This situation led to a decline in the food's quality, which did not meet my expectations. The presentation of the small snack container was very unappealing because the three food choices were squished together in a tiny container. My total charge for the small, tight, thin oxtails and two sides snack was not at all worth the $20.00 I was charged. The quality of the oxtails was a real disappointment that needs major improvement. I was expecting much better quality, and I would not recommend this food location based on my recent visit.

It really frustrates me that I had to leave this review because I used to be a regular customer…read morehere. Unfortunately, today's experience was very disappointing. When I walked in, the employee preparing my food was on the phone the entire time and had a rude attitude. I asked about the oxtail lunch special because I hadn't been there in a while and couldn't remember the portion sizes. Although the menu listed the lunch special from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $15.55, it wasn't clear which size the special applied to. I assumed the special price applied regardless of the size. Instead of explaining the options, the employee rushed me to choose a size while still talking on the phone. When she brought my two plates to the register, they were both large, and my total came to about $55. I wasn't upset about paying the price--I was upset because I had specifically asked about the lunch special first. When I questioned the total, she rolled her eyes, caught an attitude, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. At that point, I no longer wanted to spend my money there, so I walked out. It didn't matter that there were other customers behind me. All that needed to happen was for her to explain the special or switch my meal to the correct size if I misunderstood. Instead, I was met with poor customer service and a disrespectful attitude. That's why I decided to leave.

I've had several things from here and they rarely disappoint. The jerk chicken is flavorful and seasoned well, the chicken wings are really good, and I absolutely love their coco bread--especially with one of their beef patties. They also have curry chicken, which is another solid option if jerk isn't what you're in the mood for. My only complaint is the wait. Depending on when you go, you may be standing there a little longer than expected, so I wouldn't necessarily come if I was in a serious rush. But once you get your food? Worth it. The portions are good, the flavors are there, and it has that authentic Caribbean comfort-food feel. I've been more than once and will definitely continue going back.
