I LOVE Alpaca Chicken. I have been twice now and it is amazing each time! The food is fresh and so good!

Wow, before tackling Costco, my wife and I decided let's eat at Alpaca. We did and it made the crush of Costco so much easier to tolerate. I had the half chicken, I had the yellow sauce for dipping. The green sauce is just a bit hotter and I think doesn't go as well. I always get the half chicken, corn and green beans. I eat the thighs, leg and the corn which leaves the rest for left overs tomorrow. The chicken is always good but not dried out from the charcoal cooker. The left overs always warm up nicely. My wife always orders the Pollo Saltado. A mixture of chicken and vegetables over a load of French fries. She too will have left overs for tomorrow. She really prefers the warmer green sauce. We have been eyeing Alpaca since we moved to the area and have been wanting to come in and check it out. They did not disappoint! We ordered the fried rice Arroz Chaufa, a side of plantains, and a side of fries. We tried the Chi Cha Morda drink and it was good! Fruit punch with added spices but not hot. The ambiance was lively and colorful and a great place for a quick meal. Service when ordering was good! We had a great time and had leftovers afterwards! read more

Great catering! Food was well packaged and the portions were great. I had a great experience picking up my order. It was slightly behind schedule when I showed up for my dedicated time but it was only a 15 min wait for them to finish my catering order. The restaurant itself is cute. And I love how you can see the chicken rotating in back. read more

I went in and ordered food to go. I ordered a quarter chicken that comes with two sides of my choosing- green beans and plantains and I ordered an extra side of yuca fries. I also ordered a pollo soltado. The chicken dish was quick but they told me I needed to wait for the pollo saltado, which I did. When I got back to my house I noticed the plantains were not there. When I called the restaurant to tell them I had a missing side the manager was very rude and said something along the lines of how I was told to wait as they were being prepared. I said no, the only thing they told me I had to wait in was the pollo Saltado. The ' fix' from the manager was for me to drive back to get the side. I said I couldn't do that as I was already back at my house. No other solution was offered. When I just asked if I could get a partial refund she said I'd have to come back and bring my card. We came here for dinner on Sunday night and were very pleased. I got a salad with quinoa, greens, corn, fried yucca and chicken. I mixed the ranch dressing and the cilantro dressing and it was great. A good sized bowl and it was very filling. I would get this again. My partner got 1/2 chicken,, black beans and cold slaw. All of it was great, I tasted all of it and would get that again as well. We tried the yellow mustard sauce and the green sauce. The green one is spicy, has jalapeno peppers in it. He ate about 4 servings of the green one. The menu is hard to read as it is way up near the ceiling. It took a while for tables to get cleared, but the ladies were very kind and answered all of our questions, The music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. Alpaca is one of my favorite restaurants! They have locations all around, and the food is always delicious. Personally, I love the green (spicy) and yellow (mayo, mustard?) sauces, which I put on my meal every time! The service is great, and I've never had a problem. It's a fast-casual restaurant with a couple of TVs and outdoor seating. You can't ask for more! I always bring guests here, and it never disappoints. read more

This was my first time to this Alpaca location. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered Arroz Chaufa and plantains, which was cooked to order. I highly recommend trying the Areoz Chaufa. It is a fried rice dish with chicken and sausage. In all honesty, the dish slaps! It's one of my new faves. I do want to add that one of their card payment machines was not functioning properly, which led to me using my card on two different machines. The first machine kept showing an invalid message, but the payment went through on the second machine. This happened to people in line behind me as well. I ended up being charged twice after reviewing my bank account. I hope that they are able to fix this issue before my next visit. read more

This was my maiden voyage to the Alpaca Restaurant and manager Lenny warmly greeted me upon entry. Upon mentioning that this was my first visit, he kindly guided me through the menu options, including a few free samples. It was much easier to decide after a couple of taste tests, although truth be told, I then wanted a little bit of everything. Thinking about the waistline, however, I decided to order the 1/4 rotisserie chicken with 2 sides, namely green beans and yucca fries (see photo). The chicken was moist and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. It hinted toward sweet but not too much so. I normally avoid eating chicken skin but this was too tempting so I indulged and enjoyed a couple small sections. Thankfully the flavor permeated the chicken as each bite was as good as the one before. The item in the photo that looks like a small cookie is tostanos, aka, green plantains. These are smashed plantain (banana) pieces that are deep fried. Lenny said these were delicious with the garlic and salt topping normally sprinkled on them, but since I'm allergic to garlic, he made me two without the "house" seasoning. I elected to dip them in their yellow sauce. It is a little bit sweet and reminded me of a mild honey mustard. Adding it helped bring out the flavor of the plantains. My favorite sauce, however, was the green sauce. And yes, they've named the sauces based upon their primary color. The green sauce was a purée-like texture but, unlike the yellow, this one had a kick which built stronger the more I ate. I enjoyed it most on my yucca fries (think thick French fry). As I was finishing, Lenny brought me out a (generous) serving of Arroz Chaufa. It is diced chicken, sausage, egg, rice and onion (see photo). Twas another delicious offering but I was filling up at this point so it became take home after my initial couple of bites. It came with a small side salad. As for a dressing, I encourage you to ask for the cilantro vinaigrette. Made primarily of cilantro and vinegar, it was simple but tasty. Overall, I highly recommend you give the Alpaca Restaurant a try if you are in the mood for something a little different, but not too different!! read more

Alpaca has amazing delicious food and if you have yet to go here, you should definitely go! The staff is always friendly and the taste of the food is consistently yummy. Everything I have eaten there has been flavorful and has yet to disappoint. If you ever go and see there is a long line, don't fret as the line moves at a decent pace and is worth the wait. I like that you have the option to buy bottled Mexican cokes and bottled Jarritos. As a family with allergies, I appreciate how easy their allergen menus are to read and access and we have never had an issue eating here. read more

Lucked out being the first person through the door today. Service was quick, which was great, cos I was hungry! Delicious chicken! Flavorful and perfectly spiced. The yellow dipping sauce goes well with it. Love the plantains and the bit of crispness they have on the edge. Cole slaw really hits the spot to tie it all together. The only thing missing was the Inca cola at the soda fountain like the Morrisville location has. Fingers crossed they still have it over there cos it's fantastic! read more

I've never had Boston Market before but Alpaca is what I would imagine a premium version of that would be. It's a fast meal since everything is prepped already, but if you want to dine in, you can order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table. We stopped by on a Wednesday at around 5 to pick up some dinner. We ordered a whole chicken and another half. For the halves and quarter chickens, you get to pick white or dark meat, which I really appreciated because I'm a dark meat kind of gal. Each chicken, regardless of whole, half or quarter, comes with two sides. We did two regular sides - white rice and coke slaw, and two premium sides (add 50 cents) - maduros and yuca fries. Sauces are on the side and there's a green sauce that is a must. It's some kind of cilantro-y sauce that has a kick to it. The yellow sauce was Mayo-based, which was okay. We got the food to go and didn't eat it until maybe an hour or so later and everything still held up very well. It was enough food (with leftovers) for 4 adults and 3 kids. Overall, everything was great and seemed to be a crowd pleaser. I mean $21 for a whole Peruvian chicken AND sides? It would cost more time and money just to make it yourself. Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Restaurant is a phenomenal place to grab a healthy lunch/dinner. The 1/4 White Chicken, white rice, and black beans all costed 11$ and was well worth the price. This Peruvian restaurant is a chain and a very well established fast casual restaurant to feed solo individuals or huge groups. For my group of 10... the $79.99 I paid for two whole chickens, a soda, and 6 huge side dishes were filling. We also got the pollo saltado (fries with chicken strips, peppers and onions with chimichurri with side of white rice) and fried rice on additional with the cole slaw. These were entrees that were big portions. Our food was amazing and none of the food disappointed me, my yucca fries was crispy, the green beans were cooked aldente, the black beans were filling, white rice was flavorful and complemented my chicken. The cole slaw and the corn was hands down my favorite side dishes I really enjoyed with my peruvian chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful.. everyone ate well. Food came hot and fresh. The yellow sauce is my favorite to have as my dipping sauce for the chicken but the green sauce has a chili flavor to add a special kick to boost your chicken eating experience. They carry Guarana soda which is a special soft drink well known amongst Brazilians. Strangely it must be a thing for peruvians as well since they had a liter available for us drink as a group. The table seating arrangements were perfect to fit our big bunch and the interior of Alpaca's was pleasantly vibrant with great service and cleanliness. This fast food place is great. I always look forward to eating here when I am in North Carolina. The food has great flavor. Chicken is great. Everything is fresh. It's a Peruvian chicken place. The drinks are also good. Since all the Boston markets in NY closed, they should start opening up Alpaca Peruvian chicken places. The biggest difference is that it's real fresh flavorful food. I got Alpaca takeout from Uber Eats and at the time they were having a BOGO for two entrees. I ordered the pollo saltado (chicken) and the lomo saltado (steak). It was the first time I've had Peruvian and Alpaca did not disappoint. I will be back to order your "main feature" charcoal chicken. A new Alpaca in Apex during the pandemic--who could ask for more? They only opened a few days ago, but you couldn't tell. Everything was well organized, and the servers and cooks knew exactly what they were doing. The place is gorgeous! It's in an old Pei Wei near Costco, and they outdid themselves in the design. Like all Alpacas, you go through the line cafeteria style and walk away with your tray--no waiting for your food to come out. Also like all Alpacas, that food was wonderful! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned, the plantains were beautiful, and the yuca fries might have been the best we've ever had (not overcooked or undercooked or stringy). My friend also enjoyed his tostones. They have hand sanitizer at the doors, and the tables are spread apart for distancing, but I also think they should mark the floors at the food line. We chose to eat outside on their small patio. While we were eating, a man drove by and yelled to us "I have a coupon! Is it good?" We told him to absolutely give it I try! read more

For what it is --a Peruvian CHICKEN restaurant-- this place hits the mark. "It just tastes so goood!!!!" in the words of my younger son. IMHO The chicken and the yucca is just so fresh and delicious. I also recommend a glass of chicha morada or horchata, and my other son will scarf down an entire plate of lomo saltado all by himself. Definitely get both the yellow and green sauce. We go through way too much yellow sauce.. The reason for the "for what it is" comment, is I wish we had more high-quality authentic Peruvian restaurants in the area whose focus was more than just chicken, or lomo saltado :) read more

Seriously enjoyed this casual lunch spot, for sometime i was craving as i lived in tampa with plenty of peruvian spots. This lomo saltado dish is a little more pricey at $16, but for me it was two servings. The rice perfectly cooked and the steak was tender and flavorful with crispy french fries. The tomatoes were just perfect, slightly sauteed with tender inside but still had a bite. I enjoyed the free condiments at the self serve bar. Love that they opened this in apex! I did notice that this location is not as busy and the chicken was not as fresh as the one in Morrisville. It is constantly good with the best sauces in town. We typically get the whole chicken with some extra sides. The rice and beans are always a go to along with the yuca fries. The plantains are great and don't forget the regular fries, def. homemade. There was a "little" hiccup with our curbside order (well most would say major but they just opened). I waited for a bit but proceeded inside after the car beside us did. They had a glitch with their online ordering system so there were about 20 orders pending. It was difficult to get help, luckily I didn't have to wait too much longer for my food. I just wish they were proactive in coming out to communicate the issue. The location in Morrisville has better chicken. For some reason, the chicken here is bland and not as flavorful as the other location. This is in the former PEi Wei location and has a colorful interior with seating and open kitchen. We get the whole chicken with two sides and add plantains. The total for that is $27 and there is no frequent diner program. In Morrisville you can use eat street and pick up and get coupons so I will do that going forward since the flavor is better. read more

Yes, I should have stopped doing that after the first time, when I sat in my car almost 15 min after the pickup time and eventually had to walk in to get my order. The 2nd and 3rd times I had a sprained ankle so I couldn't walk in, and I had to call inside to make sure they were even going to bring it out.
