Saw this place in passing while visiting the area for the weekend and decided to double back and give it a try before I hit the road back home to the DC area. I was warmly greeted by staff and even had a nice chat with the actual owner and chef! He was so kind and patient with my questions. They even offered recommendations since I was new their spot! OMG, I enjoyed every single thing that I purchased and now upset that I didnt bring even more back home with me! The Chaufa rice was AMAZING! So much for what you pay! There is the option to buy empanadas vacuum sealed and frozen and I took that route for a few flavors that I wanted to try. I did air fry one recently and it tasted just as delicious as the ones I ate the day I visited them! The prices was good and I felt I thoroughly got my money's worth! I didnt try any sweets this visit but the next time I'm in the area or even passing through, I'll make a pit stop for sure! I've already told friends that live locally to try them out and one went recently and raved about how good everything was and shared their own review with other local friends! The parking was ample and the seating space was plentiful. I dont eat pork/red meat and primarily eat clean. They usually have good food, but they will literally insult you before accepting a mistake so this is a goodbye after being faithful clients for almost two years! Two sundays ago we ordered take out and the cachapas were very different from what we usually eat (we religiously eat their cachapas at least once a month!) they tasted different and were very undercooked and soft. The first bite I took had no cheese in it, so for a moment I thought they'd forgotten to put it and when lifting the cachapa with the fork it completely crumbled apart. It was like a mush. I told my husband I could not eat this (he is a very hungry man and though the quality was not what we usually expect from them, he had eaten half of his already. I, on the other hand, only had the first bite). We called and they asked us to drive back to the restaurant and bring in the cachapas for a refund, which we did. Never actually received the refund after multiple talks with them because according to them: "one was eaten halfway through, and the other one had been purposely smushed by a hand/played with." Yes, the cachapa was pretty much destroyed. Because it was so soft and undercooked it broke apart the moment I manipulated it with my fork and knife, as one does when eating food!! Also they claimed the product was the same as it always has been, yet it clearly tasted different as we know their cachapas very well, and their own cook spoke to us on the phone saying their cachapas came from an external provider and they'd recently changed the product!! So who's lying? We used to recommend them to all our friends because we support fellow Latino business and they are very close to where we live in Cary. But now I'll tell you all to try Pana's Flavors' Cachapas in Raleigh, for authentic cachapas actually made by Venezuelans! read more

The empanadas are very flavorful with ingredients such as ham/cheese , beef and other varieties. Some places serve empanadas and they taste like old oil. This place is a top contender, but I would have gotten the beef ones. I wish they would have an option of being able to get a little salad and crema on the side. I just happened to find this place today and stopped in for lunch. It is very bright and clean with a nice decor. The staff was very helpful and happy to answer questions for a first timer. You order at the register, pay, then they will bring your order to your table when it is completed. It was a short wait and I had my two freshly made, hot empanadas ready to enjoy. The beef empanada was nice, with a bit of a kick to it, and mainly just the beef filling. However the standout for me was the chicken empanada...it tasted wonderful! Truly good sized chunks of chicken with filling made to taste so good. Not as much kick at the beef empanada, and I really like that...this chicken empanada was very flavorful without having to be spicy (plus, personally, I'm not a fan of extreme spicy). I had to order one more, I liked it so much! Service was nice and positive as well. Very impressive! I found this place of all places on a local Instagram foodie. We came at 2pm on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. They do have outside dining and deliver the food to you! The beef was also go but just not a flavor I was used too! We also had a shredded beef arapa! This was one of the best I've had in my life! Very flavorful, huge potion and had a great garlic sauce on top. These are a must if you go. Finally we had salchipapa's which again is a must! This consisted of fries and deep fried hot dogs, with a nice sauce and seasoning! You cannot go wrong! The food is mediocre, but the dining experience is poor. Eating in: Stuffy, humid - why not run the HVAC??? Bizarrely, they don't have ice, so drinks quickly become unappealing room temperature. All orders, even dine in, are served in to-go boxes with such flimsy, cheap plastic utensils that you can't actually cut your food to eat it. The music and talking from the kitchen was so loud we couldn't hear each other over the noise. Food: The empanadas were dry almost withe the consistency of sawdust. Maybe our batch was way overcooked? Aside from no ice so your drinks are lukewarm, the beef was so tough, with so much gristle, that it was largely inedible. The cheese was so stringy it induced a gag reflex. Of course a knife would have been helpful, but as previously mentioned, it was so flimsy it couldn't cut either. Summary: Management made baffling choices that absolutely don't appeal to customers in the US. There's a number of empanada restaurants the have a much better customer experience. I was there with my two boys. One ordered an Arapa and empanada both with beef. My other son got two steak empanadas, and I got a chicken and vegetarian empanada. While waiting a very long time, the counter lady and the cook argued about which one was the vegetarian one and chicken one. I heard the lady say, " I need to know which one is the vegetarian one for the customer" to which I think he replied," you tell by looking at it". This went on for a good 10 minutes. The lady on the phone also said I would get a credit for not getting the chicken empanada and I never did as she didn't ask me anything about my name or anything specific about the order. The manager whom was training a girl at the time, had said to her, this is good listen to this, while the counter lady and cook urged as well. Not good management either. I must say I REALLY enjoyed the food on my visit to Emoanadas & more. Everything that we had was fresh, the fried items were crisp and flavorful. The cheese cachapa's were crispy, I need a gallon of the cilantro garlic sauce. The chicken empanada was crispy, airy and flavorful.
