Food was not good ! She didn't packaged it right and I ordered over 10 pupusas and all my cheese pupusas all soggy and they all came apart and I had hair in my cheese pupusas and I spent over 40$ dollars here . Wouldn't recommend at all !!!

Literally inedible. I have never been sold a worse meal. This is so unforgivably bad I am writing this review before I've even thrown away the to-go order I just picked up. I am not exaggerating when I say I literally cannot chew the steak. I've had to spit it out. The rice is old and stuck together in large balls and the salad is HOT. I will NEVER be back. This place should be shut down.

This place was A+! I got pupusas, and carnita tacos. Everything was super fresh and the flour taco shells were made to order I've never had fresh taco shells before and they were delicious. I can't believe this place has been by my house for years and I'm just now finding it! The owner was super passionate about the menu and took his time explaining everything to me and my husband. I really appreciated his welcoming spirit and enthusiasm for his native food. I will definitely be coming back here to try more!

Another in the long list of Good Restaurants Oddly Situated in Strip Malls, El Paseo is hidden in one of the curiously arranged strip malls that line Capital Boulevard and is easy to miss if you're not looking for it - but if good, filling food is on your list, start looking! If the typical Mexican Combo #3 is what you desire this isn't the place; you'll find more regional specialties here like the Desayuno Tipico, featuring two eggs Salvadorian style, beans, cheese, cream, plantain, and tortillas; Yucca Con Chicharron; the Plato Tipico Salvadoreno, offering a variety with beans, plantain, pupusa, tamal, sour cream, and yucca with sauteed pork; and burritos, tacos, baliadas plus a variety of pupusas. There are vegetarian options as well as meat dishes ranging from chicken to tongue, giving eaters of every adventure level something to enjoy. Fresh juices are also available to order if you feel you need something virtuous to go with your stack of cheese pupusas (the deliciously tart and crisp cabbage accompanying them was enough for me!). The space is simple, service is prompt and helpful, and prices are affordable - El Paseo may be somewhat of a hidden gem in Raleigh but it certainly deserves wider acclaim!

Small and informal atmosphere, soccer game on the tv's. Staff is polite and attentive. Food is good in general. The flat bread is rather bland. The cuts of meat, while they are thin, are well seasoned and tasty. Nothing really stands out. So I simply didn't find a reason to return.

I ordered right away, paid up front, and figured it would be a quick stop. Over 60 minutes later, I was still waiting. The waitress told me the dine-in table had to be served first because they arrived before me--even though they didn't order until after I did and didn't pay until they were walking out. Make that make sense. Terrible system. No communication. No apology. Just a lot of waiting for something that should have taken 15-20 minutes tops.

This place was absolutely amazing. All I can say is, we made a lot of happy noises while eating,…read moreand there were plenty of "oh my God" moments at the table. From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Jajaja.

When you arrive there is parking in front of the restaurant as it's located in a shopping plaza. When you walk in you'll feel like you've been transported to a trendy, energetic, and coastal beach restaurant. There are also TVs at the bar if you are looking to watch sports. We checked in with the host and opted for a table. To start we ordered the queso (Smoky queso, pico de gallo, fresh cilantro) and added the smoky chorizo. The queso was very good and had a great smoky flavor with a little spice. You'll want to order an appetizer as chips are not complimentary. For drinks my partner ordered the strawberry mojito (Bacardi limon, mint, lime, soda, strawberry) which was good and on the sweeter side. I ordered the Desert Fire (Jalapeño infused lunazul, triple sec, chipotle simple syrup, lime, spicy rim) which was on the spicier side but was so good. For mains my partner ordered the Mahi Wrap (Blackened mahi, napa-romaine mix, fresh avocado, honey chipotle sauce, Caribbean salsa, grilled flour tortilla with seasoned fries) which had a nice balance of flavors. The fish was a bit overcooked but the seasoned fries and flavors made up for the dry fish. I ordered the surf & turf burrito (Grilled shrimp, marinated steak, queso rice, grilled onions, pico de gallo, queso fresco, baja crema, topped with habanero onions & arugula, cilantro served with black beans) topped with the tomato cream sauce. The sauce had a nice smoky flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. As for the steak, kind of the same issue as the fish where it was overcooked/cooked well done. For dessert we ordered the Sugar churros (Whipped cream, caramel dipping sauce) which were served piping hot and they go perfectly with the dip. We ended up stirring the whipped cream and the caramel sauce together. I definitely would stop by salt & lime cabo grill for mexican food but would opt for just shrimp as the main meat vs mahi or steak. Looking forward to my next visit to salt & lime.
