Inka Grill is a new kid on the block of DT Raleigh and hopefully here to stay ! Hidden in a historic building is Inka Grill across from the courthouse .. Inka serves up some delicious Peruvian dishes ... one of the highlights are the complimentary roasted salted corn nugs... for your table .. wish there was more cause I did not want to share them with the rest of the table lol The vibes are basic and clean and simple and main focus is on food and service which were pretty good ... The Ceviche de Pescado Inti was awesome ! Full of flavor... when the waiter tried to take away the fish that still had the sauce left in it... they almost lost their hand lol Keep the sauce to dip your fried yuca in it The Pollo Saltado was pretty good and tons of flavor and huge portion ... ask for extra sauce/gravy to dip your fries in and pour over some rice .. you will thank me later Overall good experience and will be back to check out the other dishes

Downtown Raleigh location.... This restaurant teleported me back to my trip to Peru at the end of the pandemic. Humble vibes with rich flavors! I will say, you must have peculiar taste buds to appreciate the details in these pairings. Such delicate vibes, yet robust culture! I can't wait to go back to Peru We arrived, parked a block away, so be ready to pay for parking. No reservations made, we just walked in and were seated quickly. The service is fast, and personable. I loved that they left some aspects of the building decor untouched, and were able to incorporate the historical structure with Peruvian vibes! It's definitely a chill experience...no strict dress code either. Overall, the food was 10 out of 10 for me. Fresh homemade food, and well seasoned platters always make my soul smile! Appetizers: Huancaina Potatoes + Leche de tigre ceviche Drinks: Inca soda Entree's: my husband ordered Arroz Chaufa (not pictured but it was divine, rustically smoked/grill flavor, more soy sauce than expected) with the green sauce like Mami Nora's place. I ordered the traditional aji de gallina. We were too full to order dessert, but they had alfajores cookies available that I regret not buying to go! Super cute date!

Came here for lunch today as I had jury duty across the street !! Convenient! I tried the tacu tacu con lomo .... It was very good compare to the same dish at other local peruvian restaurants. The huancaina though disappointed me a bit, it lacked flavor and it seemed that it didn't have enough Aji Amarillo .... It was just ok. I actually added some of the green sauce they provide ( a bit spicy ), mixed it with the huancaina and that was better :). The chicha was ok also. Service was great, the waitress was very attentive. Prices are average compare to other Peruvian restaurants. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get a glass of passion fruit juice ( they only sell it by the jar ). The place was clean as well and food came out fast. Overall it was good, I will be back to try some other dishes and will post additional reviews.

We usually drove an hour for the one in Greensboro, but they recently opened in Raleigh! They have this appetizer platter with not just calamari, but also fish, shrimp and even mussels. You can ask if you want only calamari if you like! I love their Caufa which is actually fried rice. But in this location their Chaufa is just better than the one in Greensboro, more seasoned and tasted better imo. Their steak is yummy and always comes with the over easy egg. Also, don't forget to order their juice with your meal, one is never enough!

What a great treat to have Peruvian food right here in Raleigh. The lomo saltado was the star of the show--easily worth 4 stars on its own! The fish ceviche in the yellow sauce didn't quite hit the spot for me. It lacked flavor and could've used more lime. I'm from Panama and grew up eating ceviche so my bar is set pretty high. The kids' menu was limited--just nuggets and fries and some kind of pasta. I wish there were more options, like a smaller portion of lomo saltado or something similar. But overall the service was great, the main course was superb, and the place was decorated nicely. We would definitely return.

Saw the sign for lunch specials. Decided to pop in after court since it's right at the corner. Place has been opened only 3 months from what the worker stated. We were greeted as we arrived. Asked if we wanted to look at the menu and were given waters. I asked which beers were on tap since I could see some new handles to me. I was told they were not serving beer yet. Possibly a permit issue. It's fine, I can understand especially since you just opened. Then went to the lunch special menu, I asked for the rotisserie chicken, rice and fries. It was disappointing to hear that they did not have that offering. Understanding that Inka is from Peru, not having their famous chicken was sad. I hope they fix that because that should become their most popular plate. The large windows are great though and the music really helps with the Latin America feel. The decor also helps with the ambiance of the culture. Maybe I'd come back but the chicken has to be available.

The food was excellent and beautifully presented. There are so many good looking options on the menu, it was hard to choose. Will definitely be back to try more.

New Peruvian restaurant in downtown Raleigh. Ordered the Chaufa (rice dish) with chicken. I have had this dish at other restaurants and Inka's version is as good or better. They have a wide variety of traditional dishes and ceviches etc.

I am Peruvian and I've eaten at the Mi Peru restaurant in Durham a few times and I always liked it, it was too far for me though. Once I found out another Mi Peru opened closer I had to try it. For starters the strip mall where it is located is not the nicest location. The restaurant itself feels a bit old and not very clean. I was about to leave but I decided to take a chance. We ordered a few dishes to share: ceviche, chicharron de pescado, arroz chaufa, aji de gallina and seco de res. And even desserts : Alfajor, tres leches and crema volteada. Food overall wasn't bad, I actually liked it, it wasn't amazing but not bad at all. The service on the other hand was terrible, there was a young guy and a young girl who had no idea how to wait tables, we were missing silverware, we had to ask for plates and glasses, .... That duo was a mess. They seemed too occupied flirting with each other than caring for the 2 tables that were occupied. Anyhow, when we got to bill I noticed that an 18% tip was mandatory !! 18 % for the terrible service I had received, that was really unfair. I paid over $180 for 5 adults and 2 kids and terrible service. Up until that point I was determined to leave and just give this place 3 stars . But then I decided to go to the bathroom and on my way to the bathroom there was a cockroach in the hallway, that was disgusting so I moved quickly into the bathroom. Inside the bathroom under the sink there was another cockroach !!! I almost threw up wondering how many cockroaches are probably running around in the kitchen!!! It is sad for me to post this as a Peruvian but I care more about the safety of the people and the reputation of the Peruvian food. My advice to the owners of Mi Peru.( the original ) which I respect. Don't destroy your brand, close the restaurant and fumigate it completely, then remodel it, clean it, hire better waiters and then reopen. Or pick a nicer location if possible. I am not coming back and will advise everyone I know not to go either.

I ordered passion fruit juice and it took me to my childhood, when my mom would make fresh, pure juice, no sugar added! The food portions were perfect for the price, I even had enough to take home for my dinner. The ceviche leche de trigre was also on point, very similar to what I have tried in my trips to Peru. Now, the location almost made me turn around. There was glass and trash on the streets and it didn't seem like a safe place. Luckily, management informed us that they are going to move due to this. Hopefully they will continue having great food, good ambiance, and a better location.

I hope you like to read because ai have a lot to say about Gustitos! So a friend of mine told me…read moreabout this new Peruvian restaurant in the area so I definitely had to try it ! I came with my family ( 4 of us ) this weekend. First of all the location and the parking lot area are not appealing at all, looks a bit sketchy from the outside. On the inside it is clean but it is a bit confusing, it seems that there is a Peruvian restaurant during the day and a separate business as a Dominican club at night so there are different signs on the outside and the vibe inside is a bit off. So we could probably say that the location is a hole in the wall. Anyhow, sometimes you hear that the best food is served in a hole in the wall, we'll that is true here!!! I have to say that they probably have the best Peruvian food in the area!!! The Mostrito Parrillero has everything you could expect ( anticucho, pancita, corazón de pollo, molleja, chicken, potatoes and a great sauce ). Texture and flavor is the best I've had in a long time. Then I ordered the Trio ( 3 dishes in one). The ceviche was well prepared, the fish chicharrón with the "acebichado" sauce was delicious, sadly the Chaufa was not so good in my opinion, I could find better. The fettuccini a la huancaina was also tasty and well prepared. The Lomo Saltado that came with it was very good, the onions and tomatoes where perfectly cooked, onions were cooked but still crunchy. Sauce was great, not too salty as you find in other places, just right. The meat was just ok in my opinion, meat would be a bit softer ( lomo should be a softer cut ). Then I got drinks, the passion fruit juice was delicious, the chicha was just ok, needed some lemon and it was not cold. Service was overall good. They kept refilling our complimentary "cancha" appetizer and giving us "leche de tigre " to taste. A couple of things I didn't like is that they don't offer drinks by pitcher only by the glass and at $5 each adds up pretty fast so they should offer that as an option. Also something that I didn't like is that they automatically charge you a 15% gratuity no matter how big is your party. I don't agree with that because tips should be dictated by the service and not an automatic add on. Where is their incentive to improve the service ?! My in-laws went the same day and they also complained about that. When it comes to pricing I believe it was a bit expensive. Even though the food is very good you are being charged same as in restaurants that are located in a nice area and have amazing service. I don't think the prices match the overall experience. Too bad we didn't have any room for desserts, I definitely want to try their picarones which according to them are made from scratch so yes I will definitely be back. I may probably just order food to go next time though as I didn't enjoy the location and I don't agree with their tipping policy. Finally, I was told by a friend that their "alfajores " were not good, kinda like the hard ones that you find at Alpaca and not the soft and crumbly ones you can get in Peru. Maybe they need to find a different supplier for those. Anyhow I am definitely coming back and look forward to try all the other dishes they have !!!

Tostones were nice and crunchy without being greasy. The rice was just okay, I prefer a bit more sazon and sofrito. I think this restaurant would do well in a more inhabited area instead of connected to the mall but the guy working stated they do very well on the weekends, so I hope it brings them continued business!

The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well-priced, whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. We almost always order the ¼ white meat chicken and pair it with two sides: usually white rice, maduros (plantains), or green beans. It's simple, but it's done extremely well every time. It also feels like we aren't eating super unhealthy when we pick Alpaca. The chicken is always tender and juicy, and the portions are generous for the price. What really completes the meal, though, are the sauces. Make sure to get both the yellow sauce and the green (spicy) sauce. They take everything to another level. The store was very cute, with a large stuffed llama near the check-out desk. The restaurant is chipotle-style. You choose a cut and amount of roast chicken. and then go down the line and pick out your sides and other goodies. For the price, you get a good portion. I got a half-chicken meal, dark meat only, with beans and French fries, as well as a chicha morada beverage. Their sauces are off to the side and self-serve, which I love. The roast chicken was delicious, so well-seasoned and tender. Honestly I did not need the sauce to eat it. The beans were smoky and I appreciate the fact that it was portioned separately to prevent the fries from getting soggy. The fries were not that fresh, and they had the skins on. I would not get these next time. The sauces were good but not mind-blowing. The green sauce in particular was sharp and salty but not flavorful. The orange sauce tasted mostly like mayo. However, again, since all the food was well-seasoned, I didn't really need the sauces. Alpaca is a great, quick, and healthy option for tasty Peruvian food. I would definitely come back for my quick fix, but I would probably skip the sauces.
