This restaurant is located near NC state with street parking near the business. Depending on when you dine here you may have to pay for parking. When we walked to the counter with several employees no one initially spoke to us. Eventually one employee smiled at us. We placed our order. I got a grilled chicken bowl and was able to choose which toppings I wanted. I chose items such as pico, corn, lettuce, pinto beans, etc. My chicken was moist and the toppings tasted good. I enjoyed the plantains on my bowl. The server put a lot of sauce and lettuce on my bowl. So be specific if that is not your preferable. I'm a big Guasaca fan but this was my first visit to this location. The servers were so friendly and helpful. I ordered a bowl with shredded chicken and the guy working behind the counter offered me all the possible options to go in it. We went last night. Just dow the street from our hotel, next to Target. We found quick and easy food that was good. We got 3 arepas to share: the Guasaca Beef, Guasaca Chicken and Chicken Avacado. I recommend the Guasaca beef and chicken both. The Chicken Avacado was a bit plain but still yummy. Happy to find this and see they have 6 locations in the area. We'll be back. read more

I absolutely love guasaca. I think they're the perfect place for a super delicious quick bite or meal because the arepas are very filling and the prices are great. Everything here is good- the salads, bowls, arepas, and even their guacamole and chips. They are definitely in the running for one of the best guacamole's around. They have something here for everybody- vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian- it doesn't matter. Their best 2 arepas to me is the new barbecue chicken and the salmon. It's easy to go low carb here just get bowl with no rice and beans. I mostly get the machada which is shredded beef, it's very flavorful, but everything is good here. Get the guasaca it's totally worth it. I like spicy food so I order their spiciest sauce, every time. Its orange, has a decent flavor, and a medium high kick. Every time, the person at the counter stresses how hot it is(even for them) and asks me multiple times if I'm sure. I guess it's probably because I'm a white guy with freckles and a red beard. So I promise them I want it and even ask for extra and use it all. I still add a little of my much hotter sauces if I take it back to my office. After the gym I decided to try something that I could fuel up on. It was pretty late in the evening (8:30pm) so I decided to try Guasaca and try to keep things a bit healthy. Around this time of the evening it was pretty chill and calm so I ordered immediately. I ordered a bowl (brown rice, grilled chicken, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, and guacamole) ($9.45) and I also ordered a crispy chicken avocado ranch salad arepas ($4.95) . Amazing. This was my first time ever having an arepas and it is so good. The dough texture that the the food is placed in tastes similar to a biscuit without the thickness to it. The combination of that with the chicken and avocado ranch salad is so tasty. I highly recommend any one to try an arepas if you've never had one. The bowl was also good as well. The chicken wasn't dry, the rice wasn't hard or old and the ingredients were all pretty fresh in my opinion. I was highly impressed with my bowl from Guasaca and I definitely want more lol No shade but this entire meal was the same price as a bowl from chipotle so if you ever are looking for alternatives or just want to try a different bowl, here you go. read more

I had a Guasaca newbie with me, so it took a couple minutes to walk him through everything before ordering, but we were not rushed. I always get the crispy chicken and the shredded chicken (plantains are ESSENTIAL, and get cilantro sauce) arepas. Unlike my last 4 visits to one of their other locations, this team managed to get my order correct. We sat outside at one of the tables and enjoyed the sun. So glad to see this place open! There's plenty of space inside to sit, with most of it being higher, bar-style seating. The food comes in fairly generous portions, and I've always left sated. Today I had the shredded beef in a 1/2 salad, 1/4 rice, 1/4 beans bowl (just guesstimating the proportions they gave me). All the ingredients looked and tasted fresh, the hot ingredients were toasty warm and the cold ingredients were properly chilled. I really enjoyed the food overall and hope to come back to this location. My only knocks are the noise level and the lack of napkins. The restaurant had a modern look with a lot of hard surfaces that don't absorb sound well. Had I been with someone else, I would have had to use my "outside voice," and the restaurant was less than half full. They don't give you any napkins with your food and the only napkin dispenser (near the soda fountain) was empty. read more

It's low-key, and I've never eaten there but has a nice outside seating area, and while inside it feels a little cafeteria style definitely on the nicer end and very clean and spacious. The food is absolutely delicious. Its consistent across locations, always hot and fresh, and we always end up having more than enough. The prices are fair as well-- but the bowl is definitely a better deal if you are looking for more food! Its so yummy, as long as you get the right food. Which leads me to the question we ask ourselves every time we come... Is it really Guasaca if the service isn't poor? We often end up with the wrong arepas and aren't able to get the right ones. We're overcharged, undercharged, and usually very confused by the end of it. We tried this new location in hopes that it would be better here-- it wasn't. While the consistently frustrating service won't stop us from eating here, its a bummer that it hasn't been corrected, as I'm sure it does deter some. Guasaca's beef and chicken arepas are top notch. The fish isn't my favorite. But if you stick to those first two, you'll be in good hands. I've never been to another location, but this one is rarely so busy that you have to wait in a line or scramble for a place to sit. The location can be overshadowed by Target both literally and figuratively. The Guasaca branding isn't as bold as the Target red so some people will miss it if they're just driving by and haven't been there before. This place is just ok. Overrated. Don't get the avocado chicken. The avocado doesn't taste fresh and it sits out all day. Terrible customer service. I was supposed to get toppings on my arepa and they didn't even put any or ask me. I asked the woman who prepared it to wait because I wanted the toppings but she ignored me,just like the man when I asked which meat was featured in the ads.
