After her not communicating with me a time frame or giving me the number of the maintenance personnel so that I could give the information to the person that was to let them into the home. First of all, I will tell you how disappointed I was with this experience. I was looking for a local agent in Waikiki to manage short-term renting of my property. My husband searched various sites and found Alohana. Alohana was the same agency introduced by a realtor who happened to be involved in my condo purchase. However, there was a 10% difference between the management fee of the agency presented by the realtor and the management fee as investigated by my husband, so I checked by phone. Kevin, the representative, seems to be able to speak Japanese, and as a Japanese person, I was impressed. He informed me of the existence of his Japanese assistant, so I immediately contacted her and promised to meet her in my room in Waikiki. Kevin, and his assistant Miho, checked every corner of the unit and thought that we were making smooth progress toward a deal. I had already received the contract by email, but I asked him to send me, at my Waikiki address, a physical, printed contract to review and sign. Before I signed the contract, I read it carefully and found some details that needed to be clarified. I think this is natural and responsible when signing any contract. So, I sent an email to Kevin and his assistant with the questions in an easy-to-understand bulleted list. However, there was no reply even after more than 2 days. I couldn't wait any longer and sent a text to his assistant, Miho inquiring about his answer. Unfortunately, Kevin told her that I should wait and maybe he would call me back soon. I finally called Kevin directly. He said, "I'll be able to answer the question in about two hours," Then I was really surprised and shocked when he said, "Your question is making me even busier." And he said "I am going to enter the customer's room " and he hung up my phone unilaterally from him. I felt like that he said to me call you back later. But I was disappointed and texted him that my questions are expired. I was very sad and disappointed because he was busy and hung up the phone abruptly. And I felt ignored... Anyway in the end I didn't get a call even by nighttime. It was real experience. So I wasted about 3 days. What would have happened if I had contracted with them to manage my unit? Is Kevin the only one on the scene? Assistant Miho said she doesn't have a real estate license, but she can assist me, and she also had other jobs. But then who had care me , and who gave me correct answers? I thought that if the staff were always on standby, Kevin wouldn't have to go back and forth between many appointments each day. I'm glad I discovered this situation before entering into a deal. But I think Kevin, Miho, and I, really wanted to have fun doing business with each other through good teamwork. So I'm very sorry. By not contracting with Alohana, I was able to go on to find another great professional Hawaiian ohana vacation rental agent. The Hawaiian God never gives up on people who live purely! Emailed Alohana Realty direct about concerns about our stay at Waikiki Banyan. Did not want to air dirty laundry so to speak. Came to our room early reeked of marijuana , wifes coat& sweater stolen .Used soap dish with Somone's old soap left in shower , lanai globs of hair and starbuck cup left didnt want to walk outside so dirty . Condo very sparse and unhomey , not that clean . Sent email with problems never heard back. Had trouble with tv promptly got back to us . Like I said directly emailed Alohana about this no response . Will NOT DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN. read more

Beyond extremely disappointed in this company. Tried to come to a resolution with them and ended poorly. I had made the massive mistake of booking a stay with them through VRBO and my stay was infested with termites and cockroaches. Tried to contact them about the cockroaches via email during our stay and we did not get contacted back. Last 4 days into the trip we noticed lots of what turns out to be termite larva and termites with wings all over the place. There was a pile of dead termites by the sliding door. Made it extremely dreadful to stay there. My boyfriend had to shake off all the termite larva off his clothes and cleaned/swept for an hour. We would only return to sleep and was out as early as the sun was up. As soon as we returned back home and contacted them to come to a resolution and was given the run around on a refund and treated extremely rude by both Terry and Laurynn Paet. Terry actually hung up on us. Additionally, Laurynn said that she hopes we would never book with them again. We were able to get into contact with Kevin Taylor the property manager. Seemed to be actually nice at first, heard us out about the problem and said he would review everything and get back into contact with us, we told him if we had not heard from them, we would contact them. We spent $1400 with them and got returned $116 which doesn't even cover the $160 cleaning fee. Contacted them to try and make it right by increasing the refund amount which Laurynn said previously that we would be getting a bigger refund of around $300 (never received it) and got blocked by Kevin after trying to call him back a handful of times. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through such a traumatic experience with this company. read more

My husband and I recently stayed at an Airbnb come nod in Waikiki, Hawaii. We found great reviews for the studio which were all accurate. Loved the place and would stay again. Alohana Realty who manages the condo was very responsive to requests or questions. We arrived earlier than checkin and they let us enter early. Upon leaving we asked for a late check out which they do accommodate if possible, in our case the place was already booked so we could not get one. However they really tried and got back to us timely. The place is clean and cute in one of the best hotels, Illikai Hotel and Suites. We had a great view of ocean and Harbor and it's right next door to Hilton with the lagoon which you can just enter. Alohana Realty is professional and helpful and I would recommend staying at one of their properties especially this one. read more

So this lady Laurynn Paete had double booked me on the ilikai location in Waikiki and I had to get another room to stay to so already it was off to a bad start. We happened to stay at there island colony location and it was one night. We were checking out the next day when the cleaning lady showed up and she was angry. She just glared at us on the way out of room. I got a text from lauryn about an hour later stating she was going to have to charge for damages because we dirtied the room really bad. I said send me the pics cause we followed all the rules we agreed too. Here's the pics of what she was going to charge me damages for. I'm very disappointed in the way she handled this situation of course I didn't pay. Very ridiculous of her to try and charge me for damages. That obviously there were none. read more

I highly recommend Alohana Realty! Laurynn was very quick to get back with me and found me the perfect condo at the perfect price! I was the first guest to stay #810 Fairway Villa since Alohana started managing the condo. I stayed there from July 9 through August 7. Laurynn and Kevin made sure that the condo was fully equipped with everything I needed in the kitchen, bath and lanai, including beach chairs and beach towels. This condo is beautifully decorated. The full-size refrigerator, stove, and washer/dryer make this an excellent condo for any length of stay. The condo comes with a parking space and is located within minutes by walking of many restaurants, a grocery store, and other shops. It's also easily accessible by several bus lines. I very much enjoyed the roof top pool with the amazing 360 views. I'd happily stay at #810 Fairway Villa again. read more

I needed to rent a bigger space for my growing business and Kevin was highly recommended to me as someone who has a wealth of knowledge and could locate the perfect space for me. He listened to my needs and showed me several available spaces that had everything I needed. Within a week after talking to Kevin, I had signed a lease for the perfect space that was 40% less expensive than other commercial spaces in the area. The lease was 72 pages long, but Kevin went over it with me in detail, and fully explained everything so I understood what I was signing. The space I leased needed to be renovated before I could move in, and Kevin managed to negotiate with the landlord that I would not have to pay rent while I had the place renovated. Even though I moved in six months ago, I still turn to Kevin when I have questions and he is always eager to assist me. From talking with my neighbors, I learned that most leasing agents don't provide much assistance after the lease is signed. Using Kevin as a leasing agent to help me find the perfect commercial space was one of the best decisions I ever made. I highly recommend him! read more

I really enjoyed my stay at a Hotel hosted by Aloha Vacations! My room was very clean and included towels and cooler for beach, Communication was prompt, location was extremely convenient to Waikiki beach strip, and loved the included car spot. The air conditioner is a bit loud through night, but honestly if that's the worst issue on a vacation, i can handle that....or get ear plugs and deal with it. Then I received an email notifying me they cancelled my reservation because the listed rate wasn't adjusted for the holiday season. What a bunch of B.S. They should have honored the listed price. So they raised the rate from $260 to $398. Price gougers. Very dishonest and unethical organization. Yes folks that's how they do business, bait and switch and cancel. Just because someone's interested in their unit, they decided why not jack up the price and get away with it. Be careful of Alohana, they're exploitative and untrustworthy. Wow, Alohana, you're not doing that great in the customer service business! Seriously. It reflects how poorly you manage your business and the people you deal with. Thumbs down to you guys. If I can give a NO star, I will. Pathetic!! Oh yeah, they kept apologizing. As if their apology will get me the unit I reserved for.
