Was really excited to try this spot after reading all the good reviews, but maybe I just went on an off day? It was around 8 am on a Friday & some people had takeout orders but my mom & I decided to eat in. She got the Florentine Stacks Scramble, & I got the Guava Toffee French Toast. The presentation for the french toast was great! I can't say anything special about the taste of the toast itself, but the sauces are what really made it. They were very sweet & gave off an artifical taste without getting a guava or toffee flavor, but still good. As for the Florentine, I don't think I would order this again. I didn't take a picture because it really didn't look that appetizing, especially the cheese (and I love cheese). There were 2 squares of Swiss cheese on top of the scramble, but the texture (& taste) of them were like plastic. The potatoes were also burnt on the outside but somewhat raw in the inside. I wanna give this place the benefit of the doubt so if I ever went back I'd order different things. The pancakes were very sweet, moist and delicious. The breakfast burrito will definitely fill you up, but we found it to be the least tasteful part of the meal. In my opinion, Portuguese sausage would probably be better served with rice and a few over medium eggs. The menu is pretty big and warrants many future visits. We came at the right time where there were barely any people in the cafe, but after being seated, a steady stream of people came in, as a testament to the the quality of the food. Both my friend and I ordered the Kalua with cabbage along with mac salad and rice. Taste was very authentic, the pork was very smoky with a pronounced flavor that reminded me of Hawaii. Outdoor seating was easier for us to procure than indoors, which was better for us since we wanted outdoors. 3) Don't move the outdoor dining furniture. I've been eating at different Stacks locations in OC for several years and consistently have five-star experiences. As you can see, this, the first location the owners opened in L.A. County, is no exception. I always order either one of their french toasts or omelettes but this time decided to give the pancakes a try. But the pancakes here are the best I've ever had. I ordered the macadamia banana pancakes with coconut syrup, a side of Portuguese sausage, and a latte. The stack of three pancakes was fluffy and perfect. Each bite provided the taste of bananas and the crunch of finely chopped macadamia nuts. One must absolutely have the coconut syrup at Stacks when ordering pancakes or french toast. Here (during pandemic times) it was provided in small containers on the side in a soft-solid form that instantly melts into syrup when spread on the hot pancakes. Delicious! The Portuguese sausage is consistently a winner and I always order it on the side with whatever else I have for breakfast at Stacks. The latte was good but served far too hot for my tongue. It didn't become drinkable for me until I finished my food. Service here was friendly both at the register and at my table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and I chose to sit outside. Immediately upon sitting a sweet woman appeared to wipe down my table even though it already looked perfectly clean. This location continues their glowing reputation for excellent food and service. We enjoyed buffet style trying all the delicious food between my 2 kids and I. My daughter most especially loved the crepes with Nutella and my son devoured his burger. There has to be a better system with getting tables My husband was in line when a group was getting up. I stood by the table and as soon as they left, i was grabbing a chair to sit down. Another lady was on her way to the same table but i was already there. An employee came to clean the table (girl with highlights and above the upper lip piercing).
