The plate comes with toss greens and a pineapple, rice, and 8 shrimps. The shrimps does not come w/ heads and it's easy to peel. Their sauce is delicious, it's loaded w/ Cajun spices and garlic. Love it! They make their sauce thick, it was finger licking good. Also, their rice was cooked perfectly. Most places I've tried their rice was overcooked, and mushy. I can't believe I haven't ate here when I'm craving some garlic shrimp. It's probably because I've been going to the locations in North Shore and Kahuku. But today we decided to opt out and drive a bit further to this location and it was so worth it. As we got to the location there was no line, a lot of parking and the service was quick. We ordered two number ones (garlic shrimp) and our food came out pretty quick. Their sauce is good and is similar to famous Kahuku shrimp. The plate also comes with toss greens and a pineapple. The shrimp does not come with the head and the shell is cut so it is easier to peel. The pineapple is also sweet and a nice touch after eating the shrimp Definitely worth a check out if you're in the area or going around the island and don't want to wait in the long lines for the other shrimp trucks. Our family has been extremely loyal to Aloha Shrimp once we've found it. We would come every weekend and always bring our out of town guests. The travel for us to here is far as we live in Ewa, so that shows you our dedication and loyalty. On Saturday's the owner Tim is not there. It is a young boy, a woman, and the older gentleman. The service from them is a negative 5. They act like you are inconveniencing them to be there and try and rush you threw your order. EVERY. TIME. I mean EVERY. TIME we ask for extra sauce in the plastic container ON THE SIDE. I even repeated 3x to make sure we got the extra sauce. Low and behold, they bring it out, no extra sauce. I even go up and ask about our extra sauce in the containers on the side. The young kid says oh yeah in cocky way. Comes back with ONE that is not even 1/4 of the container. I said ahhh what about the others for our other FIVE plates? He said oh yeah ok. He goes back to the truck and the literally just sit there. Food about to be cold and the NEVER MADE ANYMORE SAUCE TO BRING BACK!!! We all ended up dumping half my plate. Now lets add as we walked up, they were eating. So the truck looks like you should just drive right by and not stop but Yelp made us turn around and go back. Definitely hit the spot, satisfied the garlic shrimp craving and didn't disappoint but when I compare it to the "other famous shrimp truck that begins with a G" , it lacked more garlic and sauce on the rice. We were hungry after kualoa ranch, and this looked interesting while being close enough (15 mins) to check out. After 2-3 days in the very luxurious and commercialized Waikiki downtown, going to a roadside worn down food truck adjacent to a small local market was a refreshing change of pace. The truck was run by an old couple who looked like they've been running it for forever, and there were a good amount of people eating which is always a good sign. Spicy garlic lemon shrimp - 5/5. The shrimp itself was pretty good - 15 bucks for a reasonably sized plate. Shrimp was cooked well and had a great spicy sauce that mixed with the rice very well. Corn and pineapple were standard but reasonable sides. Definitely more of a value and comfort food type of deal, but a pretty good one and worth the small detour. read more

We feel like we struck gold when we came across Aloha Shrimp. We went out to the beach and passed by the food truck. It was raining hard so they're weren't that many customers. We waited about 25 minutes but it was SO VERY WORTH IT. The spicy garlic shrimp was ever so aromatic. The garlicky flavors were so prominent but the spice adds just a slight kick. The shrimp itself was meaty and tender, slightly sweet-cooked to perfection. The sauce was definitely the highlight of the meal. It soaked into the shrimp and the rice which of course, made it all so much better. The small salad on the side was forgettable but it's nice to have some kind of vegetables to take away from a heavy meal. The pineapple slice was sweet and refreshing. Overall, it was a meal I won't ever forget. Skip those touristy Giovanni's & Kahuku Shrimp. Give Aloha Shrimp a shot! The garlic sauce and price point alone sets them apart from every other shrimp truck. The plates are very affordable and the lines here are not nearly as long. After visiting Kualoa Ranch we originally planned on going to Giovanni's shrimp truck but opted for this place instead since it was much closer. I was a little skeptical upon seeing the food truck since it looked a little run-down but kept an open mind since the pictures of the food looked mouth-watering. We were greeted by a nice lady who appeared to be the only one working. Considering she was the only one working, the food came out fast. We ordered garlic shrimp and a spicy shrimp plate. Let me tell you, it was love at first bite! The shrimp was hot and tasted fresh. The spicy shrimp had a nice kick to it, nothing overpowering. Both plates were served with corn, which I didn't much care for, but the pineapple was a nice addition as a dessert/pallet cleanser that topped off the meal. After a tour at Kualoa Ranch we took a short 15 minute drive to Aloha Shrimp. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. Originally, we wanted to go to Giovanni's because people rave about Giovanni's. But we figured we could head to North Shore later on during our trip and Aloha Shrimp was much closer to us. The Spicy Garlic (#5) at Aloha Shrimp was the best shrimp I've ever had in my life. If you've ever had Cajun shrimp or Boiling Crab before, Aloha Shrimp is even better! We ended up getting Aloha Shrimp two days later so we could confirm within ourselves how good it really was. We called in our order the second time, and picked it up! We got Giovanni's a couple days later to compare, and it was just not even close. Just make sure you try both trucks! I'm just saying, if you could choose between the two, Aloha Shrimp is absolutely phenomenal. Honorable mention is Kaya's Kitchen and the convenience store next to Aloha Shrimp.
