I could be wrong about the corn they used, but I had have had better. It wasn't terrible, just serviceable. The bad: They tipped themselves with my credit card without my knowledge. They stated a total, I paid with tap. They said thank you and said it would be 7-8 minutes and so then I walked away. Initial charge showed what they stated but then I see that another 15% was added a day later. I take responsibility that I didn't stick around for the tip screen but I honestly thought our transaction was over after I tapped. I totally would have tipped as I always do but I wasn't asked as they let me walk away. They also could have just asked me verbally for a tip when I came back to pick up my order rather than take it from me. It was only a few bucks but it's the principle; you shouldn't just take from a customer without their knowledge or permission.

The sauce is amazing and I do think it's delicious with the sauce. Rice was just rice. Meh. Even adding shoyu didn't add much flavor to it, to be honest. The mac salad is extremely bland. I don't know if they need to add some acid to the mayonnaise or more salt, but it was pasty and no flavor. I would honestly skip getting the mac salad next time and get regular salad! That's how bad this mac salad was. Two slices of pineapple on the plate were fresh and flavorful. I did enjoy these. Service was okay. I had asked if they still honored kama'aina discount and was told no. That's fine; I understand not all places offer discounts. I don't know when kama'aina discount stopped being offered, but back in the day I used to receive it when asking. I did notice though that two guys who ordered before me got a "mahalo, braddah" in a friendly tone but I got a terse "thanks." Guess haole girls don't get mahalos even if local. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. They also NEVER had coconut regardless of when I went. I went about 10 times across multiple years and different seasons and they have always been out. When they are out, you might have to wait 15minutes for them to grill more corn. You can go in the shop of the Dole Plantation or grab a dole whip while waiting and come back. There are plenty of tables to sit and eat the corn. There are tables on the grass area around where you buy the corn (which is in the parking lot) or you can go through the Dole Plantation shop and walk through to find more tables available. You don't have to pay an entrance fee to get to this area. The servers are never friendly but I still go for the grilled corn. At least the flavor of the corn never changes.
