Excellent quality and good value for transfer of data from VHS to thumb drive. Able to play on…read moresmart tv and computers too. Good service as well. Go to 808Burners in Waimalu for data transfer from old modes of storage. Not quite a fountain of youth but it's good to see that you looked pretty good back in the day or for your kids' childhood videos.

Totally random but I got my hands on a cassette tape with Frank Delima's song he wrote for KC Drive…read moreIn about their KC Waffle Dog! The Asato Family that owned KC Drive In found it and I immediately started looking for a local business that could digitize it. There are a number of digitization businesses on the mainland but I really didn't want to mail this treasure and risk it getting lost or damaged. I dropped it off to 808Burners. Opted to purchase a thumbdrive and have the files placed on that (vs. a DVD). Got a call a couple days later saying job was done! They saved it in two formats for me, too! I was so happy with their work that I went back later with some VHS tapes I had been meaning to digitize forever. Seriously, go and digitize your VHS tapes and cassette tapes before it is too late. They have a lovely YELP deal where you can buy a YELP voucher for $15 which is good for $30 at 808Burners. One use per visit. You can also purchase vouchers to give as a gift to someone. Located in Harbor Center, so there is ample parking. Service was professional and quick. Bonus was Ige's Aiea being located in same lot and I could go pick up food afterwards!

Treehouse has been there for me since I was 15 just dipping my toes into serious shots in school but it's not without its faults. Most fall in the lab and prices on this but the staff have been nothing short of fantastic each step of the way since moving back especially. Where my qualms occur though is with the lab and prices especially for bulk loading. While most of everything here on the rock is slightly inflated due to shipping and stuff and that makes sense some films especially more of the popular consumer and professional stocks are in most cases $1-6 more than those same ones in say a shop in California/washington. Though my personal biggest bugaboo is the lab with scans will take creative liberties on some scans to get it back to viable color and others will be left to the wind especially when I have overexposed my film by a stop which imho is commonplace for most film shooters to preserve shadow detail and reduce grain. All the while they'll say you have to pay extra when you see a huge green/blue shift for a majority of the roll where 2-5 will be regular looking compared to samples online. Tied with this is the fact that they only send you a Dropbox of jpegs for the pro level 30mp scans. While I understand the compression is slightly better than Google Drive pro level in the mainland again has always been wetransfers of tifs or at minimum jxls with some latitude to re edit or archive. While pricing for these are near competitive with +- a couple bucks and being Hawaii's premiere lab comes with some understandable waits I can't for the life of me understand why they can't allow for a simple change for those niche pros still looking for archival level lossless compression or the ability to compress them freely themselves. While this won't stop me using them as shipping back to my old labs in the mainland is a pain and a half I do wish us select pros/enthusiasts would have those creature comforts afforded.

The negatives were scanned and sent in a couple days and I picked the physical copies up over the weekend. Quick turn around and easy process.
