I have admired these backpacks and other bags online for a while and I was happy to see they had this store in Encinitas. I popped in and found just what I was looking for. These backpacks are light and water resistant, sturdy and they hold a lot of items. Aloha Collection was founded in 2014 by a flight attendant named Rachel Leina'ala and Heather Aiu a native of Kauai. They both had a dream to create travel light and splash proof purses, totes, backpacks, cross body bags, duffles, diaper bags, lunch boxes and laptop cases. They feature so many unique Hawaiian patterns/prints in their design and who doesn't enjoy carrying a piece of Hawaii with them? They also offer special collections from time to time like Hello Kitty and they just came out with a Moana collection. I find their products reasonably priced and they often have some great sales. You can purchase in one of their stores located all over Hawaii, Newport Beach, Encinitas, Malibu, and Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Easiest way to purchase is online. This store was well laid out and organized. Products were easy to view and staff were helpful. Each and every year, they gave back 5% of their profits to organizations that uplift the Hawaiian islands. These non profits support perpetuation of Hawaiian culture, environmental education and community well being. I fell in love with the O'ahu store and little did I know, there was one minutes away from me. The store is located on the beautiful coast highway in the sunny beach stores. Came in and was greeted immediately. The ladies that work there were very nice. They gave me a tour of the new merch that just hit stores. Not including the Hello Kitty collection that hits tomorrow. They had a huge generous section of clearance. I am in love with the seashell collection, and what's great about these bags and accessories is the light weight fabric. I got the weekender, large pouch, and a passport holder for under $100. Can't beat the deals and quality. I highly recommend. Thank you so much ladies read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. That's how many shits they give about their customers. This is in regards to their online store. I ordered a backpack last year, it never came. I followed up with them and they said they'd send a replacement. Never came. I asked for a gift card thinking I'd just go into the store and pick something myself, and I was denied. Too bad so sad. Do to their mistakes, it's been too long. I'll never buy from this company again and any and every time I see an aloha item via friends or on the streets...I'll share my experience. SMH. read more

This has quickly become one of my go to brands in 2023. I purchased almost the entire black and white collection over the last year. The flagship store is located in downtown Encinitas. Yet they are growing and will be opening in Hawaii soon. The bags are water and tear resistant and are made to travel. I use them for the spa, beach and pool, in addition to trips. Aloha collection has a great story and make fun gifts. It is hard to pick a style because there are so many. Just mix and match. I absolutely love the Aloha brand! I have every size in the pouches and bags. I love that I am close to a storefront to see the patterns in person. They have a great selection. They also offer a lot of the sales that are offered online, and if you go in store you don't need to pay shipping. The staff is friendly but I have been in before where it's been a bit snobbish. Don't shop here! We went in there today because we saw their 40% sales sign outside. We had to ask what items were on sale and were told to ask and they would tell us. We would pick an item and they would say yes or no then they would determine if it was 10%-40% off. We asked a sales representative by the name of Michelle to just show us what was on sale, she showed us several bags and we chose the ones we liked. When we went to pay for our bags all three bags were either on sale and one that they said was on sale ended up not being on sale after all and was full price. We came back to exchange a bag and were told we couldn't because it was a final sale but our receipt didn't say it was a final sale. Michelle refused to exchange it and started yelling at us and said final sale and said we could not return it on a final sale! We didn't want a refund just an exchange. This boutique is clean, neat, welcoming and bright. There is a paid garage parking underneath the building. Love the collection of totes. This is going to be the perfect beach/ travel bag. There was only one gal in the store to help everyone when we were there. At one point there was about 15-20 people in the small store but this clerk couldn't have been any nicer, more cheerful or helpful. I was very impressed by this store for my first time. I am so disappointed that I bought almost $500 worth of bags in late November to make sure I have my Christmas presents ready and I still haven't even received a estimate of when I will receive my purchases. I emailed them asking but haven't even received a reply in over 5 days. No where to call and not even able to cancel my orders to purchase other gifts. I received a bag as a Christmas present which I wanted to exchange. The sales person at the store told me that she is unable to allow the exchange, that I would need to contact the corporate office. I contacted the corporate office and was told that they would make an exception and would allow the exchange with me paying all shipping costs. I told them that I live close to the store and it would be more convenient to walk into the Aloha store. Corporate informed me that the process for the exchange is firm, the item must be shipped. Most stores welcome exchanges in their stores, knowing that customers would browse the store and make other purchases. Obviously Aloha bags do not care about customer service, even during Christmas. Cute bags but I will never shop Aloha again. read more

I love these bags! I've always loved those bags made from sails and these are just like that, except not from recycled, used sails. The prints are fun and being splash proof makes them great for the beach bag. My big complaint has to do with their service. I ordered 4 bags for an upcoming trip. I ordered on a Thursday morning, hoping they would arrive in time for my Tues night departure. I knew it would cut it close but the bathing suit I ordered from Colombia the same morning arrived on Monday, so I know some companies can make it work. They sent me a tracking number on Friday, but here it is Monday and it still says USPS hasn't received the item so I still have no ETA. I contacted customer service who said I had to wait 24 hours for an update, however if you sent me a shipping notice on Friday, why does it take until Tues for an update?? I live 30 min from the Encinitas store. I tried calling to see if they have the pattern I want before trekking up there and the number is just a message giving there old address and then hangs up on you. Frustrating to not even be able to call the store before heading up there. Super bummed as I feel they could up their service with faster shipping and a working number to the store. If you see their products in person and find what you like, I'd definitely recommend. read more
