Aloha is the best cardiology practice I have ever been to! I'm 62 with left ventricular hypertrophy and I have been through three other practices before going to Dr. Barry, and I can say without question that he is the best, most thorough, and caring cardiologist I have ever known. He put me through a LOT of tests and has figured out problems that none of the others ever could. You may wait a bit in his office as his thoroughness often uncovers issues that make some appointments run long, BUT THAT SURE BEATS THE PRODUCTION LINE that most cardiologists employ to get through the maximum number of patients per day. First 2 appointments were great! I never understood all of the complaints about the front office. That was until today when I walked out of my stress test with nothing completed because they were almost an hour behind. Complete waste of my time. I even asked the lady at the front desk if they were running on time when signing in and she told me pretty much. No communication, no empathetic apologies, and the medical examiner even came in to the room and when I stated I had to leave because they were so far behind he looked at me like it was my fault and said well that's the way it is sometimes. If that's the way it is sometimes I don't want any part of it. Businesses need to respect their clients time and said clear expectations upfront. read more

I'm curious to see how this office really works. So I'm going to note each office visit and my personal experiences. I know sometimes it's not fair to compare a business of any kind solely on a few bad reviews. As a business owner myself. Most people only review their negative experiences rather than including the positive ones. So, my first experience with Aloha. I needed clearance for surgery I'm having with another problem, and since my pcp noticed some things on my EKG I was sent to see Dr. Barry. Upon arrival, everyone seemed friendly and was given a fast appt in for the clearance. We did have to wait about 45 min to be seen by Dr Barry, once in the room. That was a bit annoying however, I have issues behind dr rooms with the door closed for too long. (OCD) anyway, Dr Barry came in, seemed to be professional and a bit of a character. Tried to slip a couple jokes about my relationship with my husband. As to if we just met" or did we really know each other" this was because I had to ask my husband about some dates and stuff. Do to stress of this appt and I do have a problem remembering certain things. However, I did not take his remarks as funny. I was very stressed already with the upcoming surgery I was about to have. And then what my pcp thought might be going on with my EKG. So, he then started discounting my EKG was nothing. That my recent diagnosis of sleep apnea was the cause of most ALL of my medical issues and symptoms. Re: Sleep apnea, deviated septum and fibromyalgia and sinus issues. And so, he put me on Singular and stated it's what he takes and that I should take it. (Which is what I noticed on another review by a past patient) seems his MO. Not sure if he gets a kick back on the drug or sincerely swears by the stuff. Anyway, he stated he was going to do a heart EKO and a stress test. (Just to make sure)? But he was so sure he was right, that nothing was wrong and the EKG was normal.? Dr Barry did mention his ability to be 99 percent right in his diagnoses annually. And that he only is wrong 1% and that you never know. A bit sure of himself, it seemed to me. And very fast to diagnose me. Even tho I had multiple issues as well as two separate EKGs showing some symptoms of a possible block. So, for now, I'm on the singular. I go in today for the EKO and stress test. Which due to a ankle Spain last week. I won't be able to do the stress test. So is he right? We will see. Stay tuned. BTW I had a appt after this with my ENT, seems I may have some issues with my nasal passages and this part in my nose that may need surgery to thin out. So, CT scan next. But singular would "not help do to this being a mechanical issue that needs to be fixed first. read more

This has been like a bi-polar experience with Aloha Cardiology. When I first needed a cardiac consult a few weeks ago, Aloha bent over backwards to fit me in to be seen immediately. Although I had to wait several hours, I was seen. The doctor asked extensive questions about my symptoms and family history and determined what I was experiencing was not cardiac but a combination of allergies, asthma, and anxiety. Great! he put me on Singulair and recommended baseline cardiac testing in the future due to my age, family history and risk factors. Nothing urgent he said, so tests were scheduled for the end of Oct. I was assured my doctor would get a report summarizing the appointment. Never happened. Called and left two messages. Never got a call back. Called and spoke to a live person who "PROMISED" I'd get a call back. Never happened. I emphasized to her that I'm leaving on vacation and need to get this handled. Didn't matter. Never heard back. It had been several weeks already so I didn't believe it was unreasonable that my PCP have a report. So, after my third call, my PCP finally gets a message from Dr. Barry's office. I guess as punishment for being tenacious and continuing to follow up since they don't call back, he is now singing a different tune. Now he's saying he doesn't recommend she fill my meds because he hasn't give me cardiac clearance. What? When did that happen? It didn't happen while I was there. Just the opposite was communicated to me. He stood in the exam room telling me I'm not presenting symptoms, that I have allergies just like he does and I need to get on Singulair just like he takes. When I call his office to ask about this, I'm told he doesn't take calls. That if he took the time to speak to every patient on the phone, he'd never be able to keep appointments. Well, guess what, you have on less patient now to worry about. I'm sure the medical board will enjoy hearing about the differing diagnosis routine you have. One answer for the patient and another completely different diagnosis and path forward for the referring doctor. Apparently the do no harm part of his job has been forgotten. Steer clear! read more

I have been their patient for past 3 or so years. They are busy, so yes you can wait but it is worth it. I have tests run 2x a year. They are efficient, kind, professional in all ways. I have dealt with busy front desk but never rude or unhelpful. I trust them totally tho I admit anyplace can have a "bad" day. Dr. Barry is patient and great and his staff reflects that attitude. read more

I had been a patient of Dr. Barry's as well as my late Mother who passed on 9/7/19 from a thoracic aortic aneurysm. I called last week to speak with a medical assistant to ask questions on whether I was a candidate for any testing since I had been told the aneurysm is hereditary. I called again today after no response and I spoke with Abigail who put me on hold to ask questions and came back to say you will need to make a follow up appointment to see Dr. Barry. I let her know at this time I will follow up with my primary care Dr. is who is more willing to accommodate my needs and let her know it would of been good for someone to let me know when I called last week that they wanted to see me. I also let her know to let Dr. Barry know due to their lack of follow up they have lost a patient. I also let her know that my Mom thought highly of Dr. Barry, however at this time, I do not as his lack of follow through has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I gave this 2 stars....only because I was so impressed with Dr. Barry on my initial visit. BUT....the problems with his office staff was atrocious! I cannot believe how Dr. Barry can keep his medical practice even running when his office staff is so unresponsible by not answering phone calls, not answering other doctor's inquiries, not sending or following his test orders. I have never seen such a "messed up" medical office and it is such a shame because Dr. Barry and Corey, his assistant, are aware of the problems and have not done anything about them. read more

I thought I found the cardiologist Dr Barry@Aloha Cardiology, after moving from OMAHA NE. which has excellent physicians, but after my experience with office staff, I am back to square one again. I need a cardiologist, but dealing with issues from that office has caused my blood pressure to rise. First appt dr apologized for the long wait time, ok no problem. They schedule an Echo; I wait in lobby for over 40 mins, I ask, they state you are next, they schedule a treadmill, I arrive, to find out I hadn't been given a sheet to say don't take meds, eat or drink anything, rescheduled, come back for test again, have to wait over 30mins again. NO PH CALL, back on with either test results, but they can call me to say I owe, by an automated ph call. I call office manager, she gets PA to give test results. The last straw. I have called several times leaving 4 messages, regarding an overpayment, no ph call backs 1/9/18- 1/18/18. One girl after being transferred 3 times & hung up on; stated biller told her there is no overpayment on my acct. I said I have EOB from insurance co. Says yes you do, girl said biller will call ya, never happen, I finally leave message for Nettie office manager, no call back from her,now very angry, so I call back & now I am being told office manager is leaving for the night & she has been busy, well so am I. Jessica is getting an earful from me, because office manager tells her, that a refund was issued back on 1/10/18 to a credit card. Really 1st no overpayment, now refund. All this aggravation could of been avoided had biller done her job !! & called me, the 1st time, or even 2nd time. Dr your office staff has sabotaged your business.
