I have been looking for a good PCP for years, I always felt unseen at my other doctors office. So when I was recently referred to Dr. Meena by my nuro surgeon I decided to give her a try. Her office is different from the office I'm used to going to, the staff up front were kind and helpful! It's a smaller office then the one I'm used to going to, but I think that's a good thing. I was very nervous about trying out a new doctor but Dr. Meena is very kind, friendly and the best of all thorough! She listened to everything I had to say all my concerns as to what has been going on with me. She did a great check up, she did an EKG in the office, and she sent me for lab work to make sure everything is well so that we can figure out what is going on with me. I have not been to a doctor where I have felt like they care in a very long time it was a nice change to have a doctor do a good thorough visit and listen to everything that was concerning me. I was referred a few years ago to Dr. Meena by a close friend and himself a doctor. I was looking for a PC and Dr. Meena came highly recommended. From the first visit I was put at ease with her gentle bedside manner, keen ability to listen and feeling that she was wholly interested in my well being. To properly diagnose a problem, Dr. Meena takes the time to ask pertinent questions and develop a wellness plan. Her knowledge of the human body, prescriptions and possible interactions are mystifying. Additionally, Dr. Meena is able to provide medical information in layman's terms in a way that you don't feel talked down to or left not knowing what was said between all the medical jargon. I truly am grateful to have found Dr. Meena and to be under her care. I trust her implicitly with my health and appreciate the fact that when needed, she is quick to refer you to a specialist to further address a specific ailment. There is absolutely no issue I would hesitate to discuss with Dr. Meena. In each visit, I feel as though Dr. Meena takes the time to review my chart, research options or care plans, and is focused on me and my health. Too often you run into busy doctors who read the chart as they enter the room and quickly diagnose you and leave. I've never felt rushed, nor neglected, while at Excel Primary Care. Finally, her support staff is attentive, responsive and equally mild-mannered helping you through what could be stressful or uncomfortable times. The only area for improvement I could recommend is adding an online bill pay option. Minor item, but that would bring this practice to ultimate perfection! read more

I DO NOT recommend going to this office unless you want to waste your time and money. I made an appointment for a simple cold that DR.Mena has confirmed illness and refused to write a doctor note for my job because "she didn't feel comfortable " exactly in her words! Before making the appointment and after i left i made sure with the front desk no payment was needed because my insurance covered the services. Find out i get billed for just coming in for being diagnosed with a cold for $127.40 and with no doctors note for my job! This office is by far one of the WORST! I have confirmed with the billing department that the amount has been paid but then will still send you the bill after you have given a representative your personal bank info. Being billed after confirming your payment went through from a representative over the phone was by far was the most UNPROFESSIONAL service i have gone through. After multiple calls with their billing department and confirmed payment went through they still didn't take payment and will re send the bill! After spending months and months and i mean half of a year to pay for just an exam their billing department could not get the payment to get through. After speaking with useless representatives and mangers they finally recommended i speak with the office directly. After leaving a message during work hours i didn't get call back almost a week later. The payment issue got so bad they have gave me a notice they wanted to send bill to collections when i have confirmed with multiple useless representatives with billing they took my payment but was not true! I have gone through hell with doctor and billing department. I highly suggest do NOT give your billing info to them as they are all liars and FRAUD especially for not being able to get a receipt after they confirm payment was made verbally. The picture is just an example of the invoices i got but trust me i got more than 3 that i received from this office. After i confirmed verbally payment went through with their front desk lady she confirmed an receipt will be mailed to my home. I hope she does because if i don't i will be reporting this to the issue to the better business bureau and Federal trade commission! I have searched for so long for a Dr I'm comfortable with, and every practice I've been to has always a change in Doctors, that doesn't happen here. I love that I see Dr Meena at every visit and she really listens to concerns and truly cares. The entire staff is so awesome. Love walking in and they remember who I am and they are all just so friendly. Terrible experience. All I needed was some simple blood work done to be cleared to have my breast augmentation done, but Dr Meena Venugopal wanted to do all these other tests I did not need for clearance. She also said breast surgery was a major surgery and takes several hours??? Um wrong lady, It's minor surgery and takes about an hour. I felt she was just judging me and wanted to do everything she could to not clear me for surgery. She also looked at me and said I should have a Hep C test done because I have tattoos! Are you serious?? I WILL NOT go back here. I'm getting my blood work done and having my surgery without the help of this place. I've never felt so judged in my life. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Meena for ten months.. she has always been very caring yet firm with me about getting my anxiety and blood pressure under control... well here I am off blood pressure meds for over a month and my anxiety is under control. I'm happier and healthier than I have been in years and I owe it all to Dr. Meena!!! I can't forget to mention the staff.. the office has seen some turnover but the girls she has now are fantastic.. very friendly and helpful.. love that they call and remind me about my appointments. read more

Went in with my infant for her shots,when we got to the office 15 minutes early there was no one there. I filled out paperwork and then waited to be taken back. 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time they finally took us to a room. It was cold and uncomfortable with outdated posters on the wall. We then waited there another 20 minutes before we were seen. The doctor finally came in and had no answers for me about the questions I asked. She was NOT good with any medical or kid related questions. She then measured and weighed my kid and went to get the shots. She then came back to tell me they didn't have all the shots we needed but its okay because they can schedule our next appointment and we should be able to catch her up then. To make the visit even worse I was there to be seen as well for back pain. I was needing a doctor referral for a specialty doctor and she told me she wasn't sure she could help with that but she'd call me back. It's been months and no call back. Staff there was nice enough but clueless on everything. That's 3+ hours I'll never get back. read more

Really just not happy with my experience overall the front office staff was gossiping in the back while my paperwork was sitting on the desk waiting for them to put it into the system. It took way to much time for the doctor to get back into my room for no apparent reason since I didn't see any other patients in the office. I don't feel like the doctor took my knowledge of my medical condition into consideration only her 'scientific opinion'. Just really frustrated with the doctor and staff will not be returning. read more

Dr. Venugopal is a very thorough doctor that is cautions, considerate and very knowledgeable about medicine. Not only does she take care of me when I am sick, but every time I visit we do a head to toe evaluation and she helps with preventative care. I would highly recommend. read more

I've been under Dr Meena's care for the last 4 weeks while enrolled in the Nutrimed weight loss plan and I have been very pleased ! My results have been steady and I'm down 14 pounds in the first 4 weeks . The doctor takes time to meet with me and help me plan my strategy for the upcoming week , overcome obstacles (like traveling for me) and behavior modification to be sure I don't go back to old habits . Her staff of efficient and I feel I am in good hands . I highly recommend her practice and the program I am on! read more

Giving this business one star is highly overrated. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. When I was escorted into my room by the medical assistant, the dirty paper was still on the examination bed which absolutely disgusting. My wait to see the doctor was TWO hours. The office runs on a total of three people, two medical assistants, and one doctor, VERY understaffed. Every single person that works there is rude, slow, and simply does not care. When I finally got to see the doctor she didn't give me more than five minutes of her time and didn't want to listen to absolutely anything I had to say. Asked her to provide a note for my employer for missed work, which she did not provide. The appointment ended with her walking out of the room and SLAMMING A DOOR IN MY FACE. I have been a registered nurse for over 10 years and I would not trust my plant to be treated by her. I will be writing a formal complaint the Arizona State Board of Physicians because I am that unhappy with the way I was treated. The only thing this place "excels" in is pissing you off & ruining your day. read more
