PA, Megan is a caring, sweet, professional, and compassionate provider. I am so sad to leave her care after 10 or so years. I give Megan five stars, but overall the office much much lower. On the other hand, the front desk staff is the worst I've ever dealt with. They are rude, unprofessional, and very unhelpful. They do not listen and appear quite uninterested in your presence and your requests. Clearly they do not understand they are in the service industry with issues that require careful listening and compassion. I am not a bit surprised to see that I am just one of many that have experienced this issue with the front desk staff. I am deeply saddened to be leaving my PA, but this practice has truly caused me more stress and anxiety than words can describe. Their billing department is terrible. They frequently code visits incorrectly and send you to collections. Their office staff is also quite rude and incompetent. My name changed in 2024, and I have told them several times (every time I've gone in and called) my new name, and they still have not changed it. I was sent to collections (unbeknownst to me) because they also had 2 phone numbers on file, and neither were correct. They claim they sent a certified letter, but I never received one. I found this out this morning when I went in for an appointment, only to be told I was dismissed for being in collections. I even offered to pay off my balance right then and there, as I was not aware that I owed anything, but the office staff said, and I quote, "Yeah, I can't do that 'cuz I'm not billing...". I am currently on hold with their billing department, and have been on hold for about 10 minutes now with no prompt to leave a message, just hold music. I will not be returning to this practice, and I would warn others to stay away. UPDATE: Not sure if this is normal, but I requested a copy of my medical records and they want to charge me a $25 dollar fee for this. When I called, I clicked the button on the prompt for the billing department, only to be told "This isn't the billing department". The person on the phone also couldn't tell me when the billing manager would be willing to call me. Safe to say this only further confirms the lack of professionalism. read more

Went in for chest pain that was diagnosed as Costochondritis and from what I understood a steroid is one of the treatments, but the PA completely disregarded my pain and was focused on my teeth for some weird reason I asked her to write me a prescription for steroids and she refused, so I left the office with chest pain, but considering going to my dentist now to have them look at my teeth, makes no sense at all complete stupidity yes, I said it stupidity. I do not recommend this place nor do I recommend the PA GALVEZ!! read more

Have had positive experiences at this location as well as the one in Chandler. The front desk team is friendly and efficient. I've never had much of a wait to be seen and Dr. Delatte as well as any PA that I've seen has taken the necessary time with me. I've received good service and feel well cared for. I have never been seen right at my appointment time and I have been going there several times over the last few years, today, I was 11 minutes late, paid my co-pay then sat down. I was called back up to the desk 5 minutes later to find out that I am 15 minutes late for my appointment and they canceled it. I was less than 15 minutes late but they had me sit down for 4 minutes so they could cancel me. This is pretty tough to deal with because who do you go to in order to tell them that what happened is not right? What is their recourse when they are 30 minutes to 3 hours behind,, do they give you money back or a free visit, NO you take it in the rear and go on your way. The medical field could care less if you are seen or not. Horrible, just horrible! read more

Lady called from office said to be there at 9:30 if I don't fill out paperwork for 10am appt. I filled out paperwork online and came in at 9:50. They said my appt was at 9:30 which is completely false and said they are all booked up and can't reschedule because they are not taking new patients. I'm so pissed off mostly when I was accepted as new patient, they are completely wrong on appt time and I needed a pre op clearance and establish primary. Office was extremely rude. I have been a patient since 2005. I truly feel that they provided good care. Especially, Lia Sequine. But apparently they have a policy that if you are sent to collections twice they drop you as a patient. They say I was sent a certified letter in November of 2023, but I never received it. I don't owe anything as the payment was satisfied but I am really in shock. I am an RN and have been for 33 years and have never heard of something like this. I am saddened as I felt comfortable with the practice, but I am angry that this is how a patient is treated. No concern for the patient to ensure care continues. Just basically find a new provider. If you receive a bill in the mail that surprises you from this office, I suggest paying it immediately in person with a witness. Even if $1.00 goes to collections (which happens quicker than a patient might think), they WILL kick you out of their practice. It does not matter how LONG you've been a patient or how MUCH they say you owe. What a terrible business. They left me high and dry on my psychiatric maintenance medication. Terrible business practice. In addition, one doctor in particular here seems to think that just eating fruit for breakfast will cure all your ills. Others here have had the same disappointing experience I see. Sad. Edit: After leaving a 1-star review on another site, I was advised by the "owner" to call their office so they can "make it right." This practice leaves a lot to b desired. Trying to renew medicine is frustrating and out of the clear blue sky new rules appear. Instead of discussing it with u, u r just told by office staff. When u ask to speak to the physician u r denied. When a mistake is made there is no apology nor any type of customer service. Within days I received a notice of them telling me to seek medical care with someone else. I was given 30 days yet during that time, no refills on my medications were approved. Thus I went for a period of time with no medical or medication and as we all know u can't just get a new patient appointment very promptly. read more

So disappointed with repeatedly terrible service and experiences with both the Gilbert and Chandler offices. It doesn't matter what doctor you pick here. You'll never see them. Only Physician Assistants are available, and there's a long rotation of them, and they're way overbooked. Don't bother leaving a message, they don't call you back. I had an emergency one day, left a message and waited until the next day with no call back. I again call and tell the front office girls I didn't receive a call back and left another message to get a call back. And guess what? No one ever called me!! Save yourself the trouble and avoid at all costs! Here's why: 1. Neither office saves appointments for when you're sick or need to be seen. You'll wait a couple days to be seen and sometimes that just isn't an option when there's something really wrong! 2. The office staff is rude, and acts like you're a burden as soon as you walk through the door. Instead of being greeted by a friendly face with customer service skills - you're just asked point blank why your there, with a blank stare, acting like you just interrupted them by simply being there. 3. I was misdiagnosed in a big way. I had to go to the ER and was admitted to the hospital for 3 days after seeing a PA at the Chandler office. I could've had a stroke had I not gone with my gut feeling of something bigger being wrong. Listen to your bodies! 4. I was told today there are no appointments for the next 2 days, but there are "walk in" appointments at the Chandler appointment. I drive 40 minutes to and from the office, for nothing, as I'm told they stopped accepting walk ins upon arrival. I had to go to the urgent care and spend $100 co-pay when my normal office co-pay is $40. They cost me $60 and 40 minutes of my time for nothing. 5. I'm finally fed up at this point and ask to speak to a manager. She's on maternity leave! Unfortunately it is very apparent no manager is overseeing this disgrace of an operation, because if they were it would and should run like a well oiled machine. I told the assistant manager all the issues I've had and her lack of response made me realize I unfortunately need to find a new doctors office - her response, "Okay." Another blank stare response. They simply do not care about their patients or their health and it's sad to see. read more

It's interesting I just read some of the reviews because I've had the same experience. I've been a patient of Dr. DeLatte's for 10 years. I've always thought she was a wonderful doctor not crazy about the staff, but I did not realize how much power they had until two weeks ago. They cut off one of my maintenance medication's because I didn't go get a test done which I didn't get the test done because they didn't send me the orders for. I talked to a woman in the office who was incredibly rude and told me their policy was if you didn't get your test done they cut off your medication. I questioned that and said, is that the doctors decision? She said no it was a office decision and the doctors go along with it. I was upset, but I was not rude. She told me she would renew my prescription for 30 days and hung up on me Bit she didn't renew my prescription but did send me the order so I had the test done and then when Emily called me back, she told me basically I have been dismissed from the practice for being rude. What kind of medical care is that? I'm curious if the doctors actually know how their patients are treated by their staff. And I agree with the gentleman who talked about their billing practices. The one thing the office is very efficient in is calling you and texting you within 30 minutes of leaving the office asking when you're going to pay your bill. Stay away from this place. Wow seems everyone is having the same issues - the staff not the dr's are killing this practice. Been a patient many years too and actually like my Dr. He wrote a prescription for me and it was sent back for prior authorization. Emily the office manager proceeded to tell me she would not do the pre authorization as she didnt feel Like I qualified for it - I questioned why she as a untrained medical person thought she could over rule Dr Vlahos and in turn she terminated my husbands and I care. We will be filing complaints too. Bit scary an office manager can over rule a Dr. United healthcare called them today too which has been documented and when they mentioned why they were calling they were hung up on. Also they have been charging the insurance a monthly fee - called continuing care - we were never informed off- this kind of erroneous billing is why insurance rates are high. I used to recommend this office to friends in need of a PCP but will no longer be doing so. Avoid Dr. H at all costs. On Thursday 3/19, I wasn't feeling well and contacted the on call doctor as every single thing I read said to contact my PCP if I thought I had COVID-19 symptoms. It was after hours (4:45pm) so I requested a call back from the on-call doctor (last name started with an H. I think it's the owner listed on their site but am not completely positive). He was a bit rude but wasn't very concerned and told me to tell them if things get worse. I have asthma so am not taking anything lightly with this virus. My husband also still had to go to work daily at this point, and he works in an office with 400+ people, multiple who had flu like symptoms in the past week. Late Friday night (3/20), I experienced shortness of breath and a 100° temperature, along with intermittent coughing, irregular fatigue, and a headache. By Saturday morning my temp was down but I did not feel well at all - still had a headache, trouble breathing, fatigue, and was starting to have body aches. I called the office again and requested contact by the on call doctor. It was Dr. H again - and he immediately started yelling at me for calling back. He said "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?!" "DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT? THEN GO TO THE ER!" He then got mad at me because he had told me to call if my temp was 100.3° or higher. I told him I had forgotten that part and was concerned as my temp it 100° the night prior, and the shortness of breath I experienced has NEVER happened to me in my life even with asthma. He barely even let me explain myself before continuing to yell at me. I couldn't even get the words out to tell him (he just kept yelling) the remaining symptoms I experienced, and couldn't explain to him this was NOT a normal asthma symptom of mine. I am 28 years old and have had asthma my entire life - I know what's normal for my body. Honestly, I didn't think I had COVID-19 and was seeking help for what I was experiencing. Also, I told him his tone made me uncomfortable and he continued, so I hung up on him. My husband heard this entire interaction as I had the doc on speaker and needless to say - my husband was appalled. I was shaken but my husband suggested letting my actual PCP (Dr. Delatte) know. So, I then called back and left a voicemail for Dr. Delatte's assistant. I tried to explain what happened but then started crying in the voicemail (super embarrassing) but I was at a loss. I asked them to contact me when they were back in the office that following Monday (3/23) as I no longer wanted to talk to Dr. H but am still concerned with how I was feeling, whether or not it's COVID-19. It's now April 1st and I have not heard back from Dr. Delatte or her assistant. Over 5 business days is plenty of time to call me back. I don't want a pity call after this review. I get that we are all stressed during this pandemic, but doctors are the ones we have to rely on if we don't feel well. Rather than yell at patients, calmly explain why it's not of concern and offer legitimate support. I've read so many things about this virus and many said people start with the symptoms I had, so god-forbid I was concerned. Any doctor that won't allow a patient to even explain their symptoms needs to rethink their profession. I really hope I don't catch this thing because if I do, I can't even rely on my PCP office to help me. How sad. I'll be finding a new one to go to when this is all over. *I would like to note that Dr. Delatte has been very nice when I see her or talk to her, and the reason I didn't leave only 1 Star. I am just not confident enough in the rest of the staff as this has not been my only negative experience, just the worst. read more

So disappointing! When I started going to this practice two years ago I was impressed with how thorough they were and really felt like I was getting good care. Ever since the pandemic started they truly have been terrible. I have called in twice because I have been concerned about my blood pressure. Both times they have expected me to accept a telemedicine appointment. I pointed out to them that there's no way they can take my blood pressure over the phone. They suggested I wait. I have been a patient of OIM for 10 years and I just tried to call and make an appt and they told me I had been dismissed as a patient due to going to collections twice. Real story: in 2019 I had about $25 go to collections and the only reason I found out about this was calling in to make an appt - I was so confused and they admittedly said in our records it shows we did not call to warn you so we will take it out of collections. Fast forward to now, 1 month ago I referred my husband as a new patient and he started going - I told them I was a current patient and nothing was brought up about me being dismissed? I am dealing with fertility issues so I needed to come in to have 1 thing done before I can move forward with treatments so I call in and it is a repeat of 2019 except now I am dropped. Emily was EXTREMELY rude on the phone - she also admitted that they did not call me ONCE to warn me about a payment - I brought up 2019 and asked if they record their phone calls because the girl I had spoken to told me this would not go against me since it was their fault for not calling to warn me. Now, after the office never calling me, not ONE TIME which they admitted to, about any payments due, them claiming to have sent statement in the mail (which I have never received) - I now need to make a new patient appt with another doctors office. So far the wait to get in anywhere with good reviews is 4 months - so now my fertility treatments are being pushed back that long. My mom is an experienced RN who works in a local emergency room, where they waxed the floors with some strong chemical that caused all of the staff working at the time to get sick. A physician dealt with another location using the same wax and ended up with a partially collapsed lung. This info is important to understand the severity of our complaint. Being she works nights and this cough keeps her up all night long on her off nights, literally allowing almost no sleep. She asked me to drive her to her 11:30 AM appointment after coming off of a four day streak of twelve hour nights, which she's worked while dealing with this horrific cough. I drove her and we ended up being 11 minutes late by the time we were standing in front of the receptionist. I should also note we were literally the only people in the entire building. The receptionist watched my mom in a coughing fit as she was checking in and was very condescending and rude. She says in the worst tone, "since you were LATE, I have to see if they can even see you." my mom refused to be talked to like that and walked out, but she desperately needed the care. awful experience! She tried to submit a complaint directly online and it wasn't working so I'm attaching her concerns here: My name is Kathleen Burkett and I was a very new patient to your practice. Shortly after establishing care I had an allergic reaction to floor wax at work that sent me into 5 episodes of stridor followed by a weeks worth of nonstop SOB and continual cough which left me sleeping less that 2 hours a day for the past 8 days. I was seen last Monday and cared for without incident but when I needed care today I was met by a MA whose representation of your business proved to me that I was not valued by your staff as worthy of decency or care. I own that I was eleven minutes late but your staff was unwilling to recognize that I wouldn't be standing in your lobby if I didn't need help. Went for a wellness exam and they asked for a copay before I was even seen. Of course, I got a bill for my copay and when I called to dispute they told me they always charge a copay for a wellness exam because "you never know what can happen behind the door." This is not ethical practices to bill for a wellness exam prior to being seen when you are covered at 100%. I called my insurance and they said they have never seen anything like this before, they billed twice for the same visit and got a way with getting more money from my insurance company. Therefore, this office is seeking additional compensation for seeing patients for wellness exams which should be covered at 100% with no copay....I did like the Dr I saw but cannot go back due to unethical practices. I had a appointment for 1-12-21 for blood work Called one full week ahead to confirm because in the past lab never had lab work order and had other who go here tell me the same and request for antibodies for coved to be included they assured me it was done I went at 6 AM to the lab waited so I would be in early and be able to go to work they told me they had no order for me I had to drive back over to the office they had a bad attitude hard time getting a prescription or for the lab finally got back to the lab they told me this is a constant problem with Ocotillo internal medicine they claim through fax machine was down I ask them more than why didn't you call me and tell me your fax was down don't go wait at six in the morning in the cold and why didn't you handle liver the orders for the patients to the lab this is it constant incompetencyAnd a bad attitude it's impossible to get through to them on the phone if it doesn't improve and I'm talking to my doctor on the 20th I'm having my records removed to another doctor this is not because of the Covid they are very incompetent and unprofessionalI I do like my doctor Nickolus Vallejo but the staff is a joke read more

I'm totally impressed with my first experience here. The front office staff were patient and helpful. Dr. Lily DeLatte has my vote of confidence. She listened to concerns I had and also expressed things that she feels needed attention. I left the office with a number of referrals which to follow up with. After getting my blood work done I received a call from Dr Delatte's office the very next day advising me of the results! I'm so thankful to be her patient. read more

They couldn't be more unprofessional. The office manager, who said she is also part owner. Might have the worst customer service skills. I went to this office more than three weeks ago. Because I hadn't been feeling well. Dr. Hall sent me to have labs done. Three weeks later, nobody has any answers, can't locate my results. I called last week, spoke with someone checking on where my results were. Still didn't hear back from anyone. I said to the office manager, what if I was dying. Her response was, we still don't have your lab work. They are a complete joke! They had no problem taking my copay, and billing our insurance company. My wife works in the medical field. I have been a patient for two years, and will never be returning. I have had a history of foot fractures, and had an appointment last Friday needing x-rays due to new foot pain. The PA I saw ordered x-rays (which they did not get the orders to me for almost a week) and told me that it would be OK for me to keep running and take ibuprofen for the pain even though she agreed that most likely my foot was broken! It took them almost a week to get my prescriptions to the pharmacy, when I got to the pharmacy they had called the wrong ones in, and then when I called them they told me I had to just ask the pharmacist for the actual prescription since they "couldn't get it to them". I left multiple messages, and once I finally got a hold of them, they claimed they had returned my calls, but never had and blame me saying that all the calls were going to voicemail. I have an Apple Watch I see every call that comes in. The Dr. insisted on a certain prescription even though I told her I had had adverse reactions to similar medication... The list goes on. I was seeing Dr. Hall for many years, I finally decided today, 9-28-2018, after not being given a script, a vital one at that, I am done with the office. After all the new changes to Arizona laws regarding controlled substances and such, Dr. Hall wasn't very knowledgeable or caring. After asking questions and getting answers, I found out he had blatantly lied to me regarding tests, and frequency of tests to obtain scripts. I am being treated by the office as if i am some sort of drug abuser, except I don't abuse any drugs. I did the pee test, came back positive for THC, even after testing clean at home. The office makes their own rules, with indifference to Arizona laws and makes it difficult for patients to obtain their vital medications to try to live life. I would suggest steering clear of Ocotillo Internal Medicine. Dr. Hall seems nice, but after awhile he starts not doing enough for his patients, and just goes through the motions. The staff is rude when you call and want to ask questions, and then they make up stuff just to get you off the phone. I want someone who will listen to the patients, and can understand them. Not someone who works mostly with the older generations, and doesn't care about a person's well being or health concerns. Dr. Hall once said he saw something alarming in my mouth when doing a physical, yet never ordered any tests, or further follow-ups or referral to another doctor. I doubt they care that much, they often double bill, knowing they'll get more that way. And good luck making appointments, they are always booked and only prefer to see new patients over returning ones. read more

UPDATE: The Practice Manager called me this afternoon and the issue was taken care of with her apologies and responsibility taken! It takes a village friends...great docs/office staff, but be mindful of their billing department. I have upgraded their review to three stars since I'm going to be a little nervous of their billing department. Below is a copy of the complaint I filed with the BBB after not being able to get Ocotillo Internal Medicine - Gilbert, Billing Manager, Judy, or their Practice Manager, Jimi, to call me back after leaving several messages since Monday, May 13. Ironically, when I went on the BBB site to file my complaint and to for check other complaints, I found that Ocotillo Internal Medicine has a C+ rating for lack of response to complaints, and they're not a member of the BBB...now I know why! I'll wait to see how they respond to this complaint before taking the matter further. According to the BBB, they have 30 days to respond. This review is for their billing and practice management only, as I really liked Dr. De Latte, as well as Amanda who answers the phone. When I posted an inquiry on several local social media pages last night asking if any other patients seem to have had this problem with OIM-Gilbert, it appears to be an all too common complaint regarding this location. Majority of responses were good docs, but a horribly managed location, no return calls, and several of the same billing issues that I had. COPY OF BBB COMPLAINT FILED 5/17/19: Went to Ocotillo Internal Medicine for a well woman exam, as a first time, new patient on 11/27/18 and apparently was not charged a co-pay. Was told I would need to schedule another appointment for the actual exam as the first time visit is more of a meet-n-greet. Scheduled next appointment for 12/7/18, arrived, checked in, paid co-pay. Nothing mentioned at time of check-in & payment that I owed $30 co-pay from previous visit. On 3/29/19 called OIM Gilbert office, spoke to Amanda to get referral from doc for weight loss clinic. Referral sent on 4/1/19 according to my patient portal. No mention of outstanding $30 copay during the call or on my patient portal. Called OIM Gilbert, 4/22/19 to ask for referral for Cardiologist, no mention of outstanding $30 copay, no return phone call for referral either. Called OIM Gilbert 5/10/19, spoke to Amanda to get letter from doc for weight loss clinic, but told I would need an appointment, but my account had gone in to collections, just that day, for non-payment of $30 copy, + 20 late fee. I let Amanda know I've never received notification of any late charges, or had never been notified during my visit on 12/7/18, or during any of my subsequent phone calls to the office since 12/18. I let Amanda know I would have my husband research our records and get back to them on Monday. Called Monday 5/12/19, spoke to Judy, Billing Manager, and told her I was prepared to pay the $30, but not the late fee since I was unaware. Judy said they sent several letters, and I told Judy they were never received on my end. I asked why they don't call people, and Judy said they called me several times. I asked for dates; Just gave me 1/12/19, 2/8/19 or 2/18/19, 4/18/19 & 5/9/19. I let Judy know I never received those calls either, but she said she had them all in her record and there was nothing she could do. I have pulled my phone records and can prove no calls were made to me by OIM on those dates. I asked for the practice manager, Jimi, to call me back. It is now Friday, 5/17/19, and still no return calls. read more
