A recommendation was made by our PCP to see a cardiologist, 1) due to my husband's age, 2) and for me due to the fact I have never been seen by a cardiologist before. We are now patients of Dr Khaled Albasha with Gilbert Cardiology and couldn't be happier! Dr Albasha is extremely knowledgeable and invested with our care. He ordered a FULL workup on both of us to get a clear baseline and the follow-up visits were appropriate not "overdone". The PA staff and front desk staffers are ALL great to work with!! Follow-up to their standing me up for remote home device check on my pacemaker. I received a bill on 5/6/25 for $100 for this "missed appointment." I had confirmed the appt and I was home all day. Lababidi stood me up as the appt they made for me was two hours AFTER their office closed! Isn't that rich? They should pay ME $100 as a reciprocal penalty for standing me up. Lababidi obviously does not know how to run his back office. This is a blatant scam that Lababidi is running to make shade tree money on "missed appointments." Front end staff did well. The doctor seemed to care and scheduled test related to the problem I was having. Went in for a test the doctor ordered on the exactly the same situation I was in when he ordered it. The PA residents since I had heal pain from a spur that they wouldn't do my test since it might irritate my spur. She wouldn't listen to me that the spot was on my heel and it wasn't going to do anything to it. I bowl with it(on my support foot) walk, climb stairs, etc. She refused to listen, she had made up her mind and nothing I could tell her was going to change it. I got multiple messages before my appt that it would cost $75 if I missed without cancelling more than 24 hours before, so I think they should pay me $75 for waisting my time. read more

My first interaction with this "doctor's office" was him pushing my appointment back even though my PCP ordered it STAT. Next, on the rescheduled date, they called at 8am and because I did not answer they cancelled it. So we rescheduled again (still a STAT request) and then showed up... I was told they don't take my insurance.... even though they never mentioned that prior. Too bad my insurance begged to differ. This is on top of their horrible customer service, horrible bedside manner, and lack of care for patients. Unless you're dying, avoid this place. I wouldn't trust them with my pinky toe read more

I met Dr Lababidi in hospital and found his brisk, efficient manner helpful. Some may find the lack of chit chat and Dr House-esque style abrupt and almost rude, but I liked it. (When meeting with him you will generally have three or four in the room with clear roles - him, a nurse taking notes, another performing BP and other functions and sometimes a doctor or nurse in training as observer. It was sufficient to prompt me to switch from my likely retiring any day cardiologist who I loved. He would take 90 minutes or so per patient and kibitz a lot. As long as you blocked the later appointments it worked. After a few years with Dr Lababidi I'm a little disappointed I switched. So what's the issue? The front office staff. It was tolerable before Covid, but really depended on who was helping. The process was difficult compared to other medical offices. During Covid it was harder but in some ways worked better. I did have to drive to the office with notes due to call volume. But now? Scheduling appointments requires solid phone access as a snowbird with occasional summer trips to Phoenix. Driving a couple miles to leave a note when the phone line has you as called six and a twenty minute wait doesn't work. But I had two email addresses and the online web form. Certainly with five means to contact them a simple question and booking should be easy. (Note that voice mails are announced as being answered in 48 hours. This is optimistic of late and some aren't answered at all.) So I emailed twice, filled in the web form and left a voice mail after trying to reach the office multiple times (each with a 20 minute projected wait and no progress).. The question was simple - Why are we meeting and does it need to be in person or telemedicine? No response to the emails or web form. My voice mail was responded to - the representative said she could switch me to telemedicine. Not that she'd asked if this was of value - you can't do BP, EKG or anything else GI telemedicine. Would the appointment simply require a follow up or reschedule anyway? I then left a voice mail explaining that telemedicine without confirmation that it was sufficient made little sense and to cancel, asking for an in person when next in Phoenix. The office called back that evening but left no message. Days later I received two calls 'confirming' my appointment (telemedicine). When I called back to the office (seven minutes plus to get to someone) there was no interest or concern about anything - interesting since it was the same person who'd moved the appointment to telemedicine. I asked to speak with someone else after my concerns weren't being acknowledged - could I do telemedicine? Asking if I needed to find another doctor the reply was 'That is your choice.' I'm not a Karen. My six other doctors do not have these issues with front office services - calls are answered, voice mails addressed with specifics, when I email I get replies. Occasionally there's a failure to communicate. But not like this. Given the representative's affirmation I will seek another cardiologist and will be letting Dr Lababidi know via a letter and fax. The hassle of simply making appointments and getting basic care information is too frustrating. read more

I would highly caution anyone for going to this office. My mother received treatment in January and latest May. I just called and they told me there was an outstanding bill of 23.79 I paid it. They sent 7 collection notices from yet another company called Sierra out of Nevada saying we are collecting 368 medical debt from January. We have made payments. NO WARNINGS. I asked today if I could pay their medical team and they said we already sent to collections. This is awful and I would hate to see any other older people go through this. Insurance takes awhile sometimes and codes are wrong. My mother is on a fixed income and lives with me. Not one time did someone say can she pay in payments. Also I was told all of her cardiology routine tests were covered. APPARENTLY NOT! I nor my mother have ever received a collection letter from a medical office. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, RUN from this place as they may charge you hidden fees. The $23 I just paid today I have no idea if that is for anything else because they said I owed them nothing. Except now I pay a debt collector after a few months! GIVE ME A BREAK, These guys are money hungry. read more

I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the courtesy and no nonsense assistance of the staff and Dr. I was there to check to see if I have a genetic heart defect hat runs in my family. The Dr didn't call but ran me through all the tests needed to ensure I'm in the clear. If I did have a heart issue, I'd come back here for care. read more

Plan on waiting for and at any appointments here. Very unorganized. I checked in for my 2nd appointment here (waited the same amount of time or longer on my first appointment) and the girl behind the desk, wearing her mask below her nose, handed me a mask and asked me to put it on. Room was packed full of people, so I opted to wait outside in 45°-light rain weather, as I have multiple issues with masks for a prolong time and the weather wasn't too bad. I informed the front desk that I was going to do that. After waiting for 20 minutes it started pouring. I waited 10 minutes longer totaling a 30 minute wait time then finally left. They called me five minutes after that and asked if I was in the waiting room. It took me five weeks to get that appointment and it now six weeks for another one. I'm now looking for a new cardiologist. These people are so unorganized and can't even handle patients in an office, I wouldn't trust them with your heart health either. read more

Do not trust these people with something as important as your heart. They are in to big of a hurry to get to the next patient. The doctor will ask how you feel, you tell him and he dismisses it. The staff is rude when you call. In fact, one called me because my insurance didn't want to pay for the prescription. She was raising hell at me about my insurance company. It's a small company, you may have heard of them. United Guaranty. What the hell am I gonna do about an insurance company. To make matters worse, the doctor will dump his minions on you. Dr Hojjati without a doubt saved my 40-year old husbands life. All previous EKG/blood tests run by our PCP come back normal. Dr Hojjati listened very carefully to my husband's story, sent him to the ER to get a CTA where it was discovered that he had a 95% blockage of the LAD artery (the widow-maker). Furthermore he visited my husband at the ER within an hour of his diagnosis and met with him each morning while he was admitted. His bedside manner is impeccable. Thank you Dr Hojjati. read more

I have waited a month for my appointment with this cardiologist. The day before my original 2 PM appointment the receptionist called and asked if I was able to come in earlier at 1:20 PM, so I agreed to take the earlier appointment to try to accommodate them only to find once I arrived at the office, the waiting room full of patients. They are obviously unorganized as the receptionist said they apparently were six patients before me and each patient took roughly around 20 minutes at the least, according to the receptionist. I'm not understanding why I was asked to come in earlier if they expected me to wait past 2 anyways. The lack of communication, the lack of organization and being in capable of running an office with a prompt schedule is ridiculous. I definitely do not want to leave these people in charge of my health when they can't even time their schedules appropriately. It's ridiculous to think of I'm late or cancel they charge me a fee but they are over an hour and a half behind and expect their patients to sit around all day waiting. read more

Absolutely the best! My husband went into a-fib after 8 years and no cardiologist in AZ. I called last minute and they squeezed him in that day as a new patient and he was in the hospital 3 hours later. Dr. Lababidi is incredible. Tried to reverse it with drugs which didn't work so had to cardio vert him. He is back in excellent health. Follow up appointment today and the doc gave him gold stars. On time appointment and a very professional, proficient staff. We now have the best cardiologist in AZ! read more

I would not recommend this office ever dr Zaki Lapabidi was my dr in the Hospital when I had a mini stroke he seemed nice and when I was released to see him at his office I was also being seen for a high heart rate but of course I only saw his PA they had me with a heart monitor for a week and I was on disability as well due to the stroke and after a few appts I had to see him for my last appt to go over results he literally came in said yea your bp is still high we have you in this and that then he walked out I had barely yelled wait what about the results oh your heart rate hit up to 130 but your fine you had enough time off work as he shook his head and hands in the air like shooing me away so needless to say they are charging me for that and it's in my credit now but he did nothing I was not cleared by my works occupational health because my bp and heart rate were still high and the PA there told me I needed a second opinion so I went to an amazing dr at CVAM who ended up putting a loop recorder in and also said shame on the other dr for what he did she said if I'd gone back to work I could have had a full on heart attack or stroke! Thank god for her! As for the idiot that works there I really hope he doesn't kill anyone! I even tell pts now that I talk to from where I wirk I do not recommend that dr lapabidi or Gilbert cardiology and the reviews are right front office is awful there! read more

I normally do not give 5 star to a doctor or lawyer, however, in this case Dr. Lababidi earned it. My appointment is on time. He took the time to listen (which is unusual for a doctor who think that they are above an average Joe. Many of them are in love with themselves. 2-1/2 years ago, I had an open heart surgery and hated it. I hope this Cardiologist keeps me out of the hospital for a major surgery. I work out 5 days a week and enjoy life. Having a good doctor also helps. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Lababidi since he visited me in the Mercy Hospital ER in June of 2008. My blood pressure was 175/130 and he told me I wasn't going home. That day I had the first two of five stents. A few years later he saved my life when my wife called the answering service at 4AM and he met me in the Cath Lab at 5AM where I had a 99% blockage in my right coronary artery. He is the finest cardiologist on the planet and his staff of professionals such as Shari McClurg, Lulu at the front desk are the nicest and most patient people that you will find. I have been seeing Dr. Lababidi for the last few years and can't be more satisfied with his care. He is an unparalleled Dr. and has exceptional bedside manner. I had my first heart attack about 6 years ago and he has been able to keep me alive and well since then. I owe him my life and would highly recommend him to anyone. Each time I visit the office, I have not found myself waiting for more than 10 minutes. The office stays busy, which can be difficult to handle for other practices. I recently was referred to Gilbert cardiology for an abnormal EKG, which led to a stress test, being a double amputee I couldn't do the treadmill so they did the nuclear stress test., Jeff was amazing. He explained every move he made, down to how I was going to feel and how long it was going to last, I was then called in sooner than my appointments were scheduled for my ultrasounds due to an abnormal stress test., I am now scheduled for an angiogram on June the 2nd., I have complete trust with this group of doctors and k ow that I am on good hands., would highly recommend them, I also agree with that I have never had to wait, I was always called back before I could open a magazine or open my phone up... read more

I took my 86 year old mother to see Dr Hojjati - his treatment for her was not good and I'm a Registered Nurse with some understanding of what is acceptable. He was all about running tests and seeing her every 3 months despite the fact that she was stable. He insisted on running a TEE (kind of echocardiogram) and he could not even get the tube down her throat - but billed for it anyway despite getting no results. Then he recommends her to have open heart surgery and he never got the test completed (the TEE) to prove she needed it. Remember she's 86 - not the best candidate for any surgery and she told him she would not have it done. He did not like that and despite being a cardiologist, did not seem to think treating her medically would be a good option. He wanted her to have a stress test and that too was unable to be completed. My mother ultimately went to her PMD to be cared for and she has been living well and happily for the last 2 years and not under any cardiologists care. She has quality of life - something that Dr Hojjati does not take into account for his patients. read more
