First time coming here. I had a lei delivered and Google mapped my way here and it was easier than I thought. Pass the federal prison and keep going and it's across the way from Hawaiian Airlines' cargo side. I walked in and had a bunch of questions and the friendly am staff helped me and were very very nice. I gather the price for the shipping doesn't matter when one needs something but never expect it to be cheap! Hahaha but it's the product you need, so it's the product you pay for. Well, obviously a lot of people have unfortunately had a different experience to mine which is a pity, as I found Aloha Air Cargo great to work with. The hardest part was trying to get an online quote, but after a few calls to the office we worked out a quote for the 69 totes of household goods I was shipping from OGG to HNL. Drop off at OGG was easy and they shipped overnight and it was ready by 8am next day. I turned up at the HNL office, staff were excellent, friendly and efficient, and the forklift driver was pretty nifty with his skills. Nothing was damaged, it arrived quickly, communication was good. Had a puppy shipped inter island from Hilo to Honolulu. The live animals took almost 2 hours after flight arrival. The office closed after 5 pm and there were no signs about where to pick up items/ animals. Puppy ended up being in his crate for 5-6 hours for a 40 minute flight. There was no urgency to get the animals to there intended clients in a timely manner, instead they prioritized everything else and left the animals for last. read more

Next! When you get to this place, there is parking. It may not be a lot but enough because people will come and go like crazy. First thing that you do when you get there is. . . PULL A NUMBER! ‍ it's right there as you walk in and if you don't, you'll know why fast lol but not to worry because they are fast. So what you should do is, park, go in and take a number and then go back to your car and get whatever you want to send and if you're going to the throne don't take too long because your number will be skipped and then fill out your Waybill. That's ok if you don't fill it all out because they will help when it's your turn. This place has AC and that is very helpful when waiting, so no use getting upset when you have the perfect set up. AC, front row seating, it's very quiet, free water and the bathroom is right there. #2 not highly recommended everyone will know - who dunnit . The only thing that I didn't like was the front sliding door - noise! Opens and closes so many times but that's ok because you know that the business here is great! Oh yeah, when it got to my turn. The guy that helped me was very helpful, very fast and very informative. I went there around 3pm and my item got to its destination the next day and ready for pickup by 6am awwwwweeeeesomeee! We recently used Aloha Air Cargo to ship a bunch of stuff to move from Honolulu to Vancouver via Seattle. Everyone I talked to was super friendly and helpful and they got my stuff there on time. Had a slight problem in that I was told I could drop my stuff off on a Sunday, which apparently is only true for commercial accounts, however, they made an exception and accepted my items without any fuss. This actually really saved our assess, because we were flying out the next day with two cats and a toddler and having to drop our stuff off before leaving for the airport would have been massively stressful. Carol T was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and helped alleviate a lot of stress associated with the move. That kind of customer service really makes a difference when you're trying to manage a logistical nightmare like ours so we are forever grateful. No one bothered to give me a call or send an email to notify me of the delay and no one seemed to care that this poor animal hadn't been fed or watered for 4+ hrs. Go with a different carrier! Terrible customer service, cargo agents are rude and slow. Normally takes 1-2 hours to drop off shipments during peak times. There is no standard protocols in place and every cargo agent seems to have different policies on cargo acceptance. I would suggest using Hawaiian or Transair. read more

We recently shipped our 2 dogs from HNL to KOA using Aloha Air Cargo. When I booked the shipping I felt good about my choice as the agent was very helpful and sweet. I was told to be at the cargo office 2 hours ahead of the flight departure. I actually arrived several hours early to drop off the crates ahead of time. The employees were kind and allowed me to drop the crates, but the check in was awful. It is a very busy cargo facility and the wait was more than 30 minutes. A sweet employee, Derron, helped my to get the paperwork done, but we weren't able to weigh the dogs because they both were not present. Mind you, I had the airbill with weights from a flight they had just taken from the mainland so the weight information was available and current. Once some initial paperwork was done, I was told to come back later 2 hours prior to the flight to finish. Again, the wait was excessive, which is very disappointing when trying to ship live animals. I finally approached Derron and asked if he could prioritize us because it was getting close to flight time and I needed to get on a plane ahead of the dogs. He got us sorted out and the dogs ready and was kind and patient with me. Once the plane landed in KOA though, my disappointment with Aloha worsened. I sat there and watched while my dogs were pulled from the belly of the plane only to sit on the beltloader for at least 30 minutes (I believed they would fly in the main cargo hold). Someone finally brought them into the cargo bay, where the dogs proceeded to sit in eye view of me for another 20-30 minutes. I will not use Aloha again to ship my dogs. I do not feel like my dogs were prioritized in any way, which is unacceptable when shipping living animals. I was told by the initial booking rep that Aloha ships animals regularly, but they certainly don't seem to have good system in place. My recommendation for Aloha would be to 100% prioritize live animal shipping over boxes and other cargo. They should be checked in upon arrival to the facility and should be off loaded and brought off the tarmac immediately. I also think Aloha needs to come up with a system for the owner to track the pet like text messaging or some way to update their status. read more

Aloha air cargo has only improved over the years , with the increase of staff to assist customers and the new and improved terminal , and also the quality of the employees have made going there more pleasant , the experience there as a whole has become expedited and way more efficient, I have taken large amounts of freight for air shipment and have never been disappointed, there on time schedule departures and arrival times is a well earned record in itself , the new terminal is well vented and large enough to accommodate multiple vehicles and tractor trailers at ounce , I will continue to use Aloha air cargo and have referred there services quite often read more

I would have to agree with others who have also made similar comments about the poor customer service. I thought it was only me that experienced this kind of slow customer service. It's hard to blame the workers there but they do need either more help or need to hire more bodies. It took 45 minutes to an 1 hour waiting in line for assistance to drop off a shipment and it was not even busy. When I arrived they were helping customer #96. I pulled #2. The wait time until I was finally called was absolutely ridiculous. I must say the customer service agents need to pick up the pace just a little. They seemed to not care at all. At least tell your customers who have been patiently waiting, say "thank you for waiting" at least. Auwe!!! For shame....Local businesses running operations like this don't last. Sad to see them carrying on this kind of service. Hopefully my next visit is a little better & only IF I decide to use them ever again. They are definitely not my first choice. read more

I understand it's a pandemic however the customer service in this place is super slow. The front desk is left unattended 20 minutes at a time. No sense of urgency on behalf of the front desk staff. They have lines identified as outbound and pickup however they do not utilize this system at all. If been waiting to pick up for about an hour and 45 minutes and I'm still waiting. You better clear your day and take off work if you plan on picking up or delivering with this place. I've talked to several people in the lobby that has had to take turns because they have kids on the car. They have been on customer 39 for the last 30 minutes and they have two people working the desk and currently they are not servicing anyone. This place needs a major improvement. read more

To my knowledge it is supposed to be first come first served - however the forklift driver unloaded 2 other customers that arrived after me. I guess it's the first person the driver wants to unload that actually gets service. In the end a different driver showed up to unload the person who was "here first."
