I placed a order for a tray of Mac and cheese and don't get me wrong it was definitely delicious but it took way to long for my food to be ready I went in and placed my order they told me it would take about a hour and I was cool with that so I went home since I'm only a few minutes away I gave them a extra 30 min went back to pick it up and it still wasn't ready they told me 30 min more so I went back home and went back in 40 min gave them a extra 10 and it still wasn't ready that's terrible service in my books in the end I just told them to call me when it was ready by then my guests had Already ate the rest of the food I had at home so let's just say I won't be coming back don't get me wrong the food is really good I had previously had 2 sandwiches from them it was also good I just hate bad service maybe if they work on that I'll give them another chance read more

A little upset. Last time I came I ordered eggs over easy. They came hard. I expressed that I wanted runny yolk. Was told that this is how over easy eggs are supposed to be. To cut the back and forth I bit the bullet and moved forward but eggs are pinnacle for breakfast for me. This time around I ordered sunny side up eggs. The yolk came extremely hard. I asked for a replacement and had to purchase new eggs instead of them being replaced because once again I was told that I was wrong about how I ordered them. We ordered Ox tails w/rice, sides were dressing, greens, yams . The turkey wings with rice, cabbage, greens, dressing, and carmel cake. The ox tails were meaty, tender, and succulent. The greens are always fresh, not overcooked yet tender and tasty. The yams are fresh - not too sugary but a subtle sweet... the turkey wings are plentiful ( I have enough for 2 meals). My mother purchased food here and it was okay. A few days ago I went to purchase a slice of red velvet cake for a friends birthday the slice of cake was $6 which is fairly reasonable. however to my surprise when I went to use my debt card I was informed there would be a $2 service charge to use my card. I was taken a back, like a few cent is usually normal but a whole $2 sounds like scamming behavior. I asked the young man if that was right and why was the processing fee so much and why are they okay with passing that on to customers. The food is great but the people working here are even better -- Alma was observant and kind, seeing that we were eating on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant given Covid-19 restrictions, she came out with some wax papers and told us to eat on top of the hood of a car (which belonged to an employee and he gave us the okay). First time visiting Alma's. I ordered the fish lunch and the wings lunch. Side orders: mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and cabbage. And for dessert, the Lotus cheese cake. I love cabbage. I was disappointed that the cabbage were a bit undercooked. Though there was juice in the container, the cabbage had almost a crunch to it. While the fish was a pinch over-seasoned, the chicken wings (which was actually only 2 wings with the drumstick broken off to make it look like more) was bland. The young man they had ringing up their guest was kind and welcoming. Though the food is reasonably priced, I believe they should give possibly longer wait times to insure the food is cooked thoroughly. I have not tasted the Lotus cheesecake yet.
