Unfortunately, the experience was terrible for the following reasons: 1. On the page under "Massage Enhancements - Epsom Foot Soak" the business promises an Epsom Foot Soak for new clients to enjoy while they fill out paperwork. I arrived 15m before my appointment and asked about the foot soak. The receptionist was not at the desk, so the question was posed to a massage therapist who showed up and said that the receptionist was preparing it. I was given paperwork to fill out which I did without the aforementioned foot soak. 2. When I was shown to the massage room, the foot bath was there, and I asked whether the 15m foot soak would be counted as part of my massage. The therapist, Anita, left the room for 10m (part of my massage time now) and came back to say that the foot soak would not be offered. Instead she said she would add on a paraffin treatment for my hands and feet. 3. The actual "deep tissue" massage was a lot of petting and short superficial strokes. She did identify and dig in deeper to sore glut muscles which helped relieve some tension, but it was not the deep tissue massage I had expected, and she did not address my primary concern (bursitis). 4. She ended the massage after 50 minutes (minus the time she left the room). 5. She never followed through with the promise of a paraffin treatment. Even though I was offered a discount, I left more stressed than I arrived. This is not the way to treat anyone. Never promise something you can't deliver.

I turn down the wine service they offer, in favor of water or tea. I've seen Max now a few times, and he's great. Gets down to business, not too light, not too deep, comfortable working in quiet, responsive to requests and has a great energy to create and hold a space where you can just relax and let him do all the work. Whether I just need to relax and recenter, or if I'm coming in with certain complaints, I always leave in a much better state than I arrived, and the benefits don't usually fully roll around until the next day. And two words: HOT STONES. Yes, please!! Part of the regular service (not an add-on like at some places). The blankets on the tables are so soft and heavy, the bedding is in nice shape (so many places keep them until the are pilly, scratchy messes) and the environment is super serene and relaxing. Stepping inside, I immediately understood why they dubbed themselves vintage. The decor is homey and welcoming with none of the sterile atmosphere many modern spas have adopted. Both have their advantages. I sat a table set for tea in a room that looked like a tea house. The desk was discreetly tucked to one side. The massage began with a complimentary infrared sauna session. I entered the sauna room. It's a small room with a couple of chairs, a water dispenser, cups, books, and a coat rack with robes on it. The sauna is tucked into a back corner. It's quite comfortable and relaxing. I ignored the books planning to meditate in the sauna, but I soon discovered I couldn't quite get into a meditative state. I'm not sure why. The massage room is on the other side of the building, so I put on a robe, gathered my things, and headed over when my sauna session ended. The room was small with a massage table in the middle. It was surrounded by tables, chair, and cabinets. I settled on the table, and Linda came in to start my massage. She did a thirty minute massage with stones. She referred to the massage type as La Stone. I wasn't expecting the La Stone massage, but I found it very relaxing and even invigorating. I listened to her retrieve the stones and felt them as she pushed them into my skin. She placed two heated stones on my hands and left them there as she continued the massage. The stones felt smooth as the glided against and skin and pushed into my muscles. I felt tension drain away from places I didn't even know I held tension. She used some essential oils as well which were a bit strong for my personal taste but are likely just what others enjoy. We chatted for a bit before I left. The experience was delightful. They weren't that full to begin with but it was ok because I figured they would look more natural. I got them done on a Wednesday, and by Friday, more than 50% of the lashes on my right eye had come off. Now, this isn't my first rodeo--I have had eyelash extensions in the past and they have NEVER come off this quickly. I am extremely disappointed given how much I paid for them. I wonder if they just used a glue that doesn't stick well? Regardless of the reason, I will not be returning, which is a shame because the customer service was excellent.
