Avoid at all costs. one of the most unprofessional places I have ever been. First off, it is called a day spa, but the salon looks like any other salon. The vibe is very boring, circa 20 years ago looking. Needs an update. If a trained stylists with a hair license runs out of time at your appointment, they will have the secretary at the front dry and style your hair. The girl told me, it is illegal, but not to worry about it because Carla the owner does it all the time. The staff uses language that is not professional. One of the stylists broke my hair off and when I asked her about it she became extremely agitated. Obviously this person is not mature enough to deal with the public. I've never had someone raise their voice at a salon. After the incident, she was not reprimanded and she still works there. I think they are so in need of employees that they will take anyone. Stay away from the salon unless you want broken, fried hair and a tongue lashing from some very unprofessional characters. I went in to get a manicure, and it was the best overall manicure I've had. The butter bourbon sugar rub smelled amazing and made my skin really soft. The color selection was good, and I overall liked the experience. I thought the price was very fair for all the services I got. However, I have gone to other salons and my nails themselves looked better after being painted. There were a few nails that looked like they had debris on them that was painted over, and a few that were painted really close to the cuticles and look like they're going to peel up and get caught in my hair if they peel furt. Overall, the experience was great and the staff was very helpful and attentive, but the nail painting itself was a little lacking. Update- less than 2 weeks later one of the nails was completely gone, and the one next to it popped right off a few minutes later. A little disappointing. Not sure if the lack of a top coat had anything to do with it. read more

I have enjoyed many years of massages here, and they're always spectacular, especially the 90-minute hot stone massages (my favorite!!). I also recommend the lavender essential oil. I have just removed the polish that was put on my nails this morning, as it was so thick that every time I rubbed against a surface with my fingers, I had another imperfection in the polish. It was just too thick. The nail tech was pleasant, but I really am not impressed by this visit to the spa. Disappointing. read more

I recently moved here and was nervous about going to someone new to do my hair after having the same stylist for years back home. I decided to try this salon and was not disappointed. They offer an easy online booking system which is great. Walking in, the salon was decorated beautifully and I was greeted immediately. Kayla did my highlights and did a great job. One thing I would say, is make sure if you're getting color done is to have plenty of time. It was around 3 hours I was in for a partial highlight, which is longer than any other time I've had highlights done, but she did a great job. They also offer drinks while your there which is a nice touch. I will be back to have Kayla do my hair in the future! read more

Called for an appt and was able to see Claire in the next few days. She was so lovely & made me feel very comfortable. I was able to get a great cut & one of the best shampoos ever! I think long and hard before posting negative reviews knowing the impact it can have on small businesses. I was very surprised by the final answer from Epic in response to my questions in the email string below. I realize my statement about possible lost business due the online reservation functions and my unhappiness was snarky. I was irritated. But instead of trying to change my opinion they told me to kick rocks. The staff here is excellent. Look, I'm a short haired dude. It really *shouldn't* take too much work to get my hair looking presentable at work. For the first two years I came to town however, it was next to impossible. One barber forgot to shave *one* side burn. Another left a lot of hair spilling over an ear. Yet another cut it so short I felt like I was ready to storm normandy. Enter Miranda. She's young. She's funny, she's personable, and even more importantly? She knows how to cut my hair. Quick Simple, and easily. When we move away from Corvallis, I'm going to miss getting my haircut here. As for other services, They've got a full spa. It's fancy. While I'm not one to partake, I did a number on my back, and found Heron available for a massage. She was as good as Miranda was, only well, she didn't cut my hair; she simply beat a knot out of my back that I couldn't get rid of for over a week. While expensive, I felt my massage was well worth it, to the point that I'm sorta hoping I tweak my back again. The *only* downside? I'm not a big fan of their chosen product selection; but admittedly, it's completely subjective. That said, If you like pureology, you've found yourself a 5 star salon in Cow-town Oregon! read more

I LOVE this spa! The space is so beautiful! I have only had pedicures at the spa, but if i ever need any other service, i would trust them to do an amazing job on them! Both pedicures i have had here have been just what i needed! They are a little spendy, but they take almost an hour, so it's worth it! The couches you sit in to get your feet and calves rubbed, scrubbed, smoothed, & renewed are soooo comfy. It makes relaxing easy. The staff is nice, efficient, & skilled. The staff was friendly and professional. The ambience was serene and beautiful. Paige did and impeccable job on the mani/pedi. Brenna did an excellent job on my haircut/style. Both women were pleasant and fun. The experience exceeded my expectations. This is a genuine spa experience. I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. I will definitely return. Epic is a great place for a mid-day escape from reality (I've been known to pop in for a long lunch) and is always a treat. Fabulous décor inside and out, very tranquil and serene. Love the staff in all black, it's professional but they still get to show personality and sass. I first started going to Karla, the owner, in the fourth grade for my hair. When you come from a family of women with wild curls, you find a stylist and don't let go (or cancel an appointment). If you can get an appointment, take it and don't turn back. Now, her newest venture allows me to have the full spa experience, knowing I can have full trust in her staff. Pedicures with Vivian are nice and relaxing. I love Epic! My family gives me gift cards for Christmas/ Birthday and so down to Epic I go! I have super thick, super long blonde hair and Miranda deep conditions and colors it twice a year. For highlights, low lights, deep condition and style, my 3 hour procedure was $165. I went back a month later for a trim and style-- $40. Worth every penny, but anything more than $50 for highlights and a trim is hard to justify when you're in college. (However, try the cheap place by winco as the hair stylist who reeks like smoke tells you how hungover she is and you'll run back to Miranda with orange, fried hair, too.) Anyway, Miranda is awesome, and provides good conversation for our long appointments. I also had one spa day there-- massage, facial, brow wax, and pedicure, and it was awesome. I wish I could give them more than one star but the awful customer service that I have received on MANY occasions doesn't allow me to. They hands down have the best facility in town and it seems the masseuses, hairdressers etc are friendly but the staff upfront is down right rude. And I am not basing this one one occasion or even one employee it's almost as if they train them to be stuck up, unhelpful and rude. My husband and I went for my birthday for a couples massage a few years ago and waited by the front desk to check in for 10 minutes before we were even welcomed. During that time the receptionist was chatting with another employee and then went to her computer to work for almost 10 minutes without even addressing me even though I was standing not more then 2 feet from her. So in turn our massage was cut short and she didn't even say good bye when we left. For a full service spa where someone spends outrageousness amounts of money to be pampered this is FAR less then my experience. Yes I paid ample amounts of money but never felt like I was acknowledged let alone pampered. I have been there 3 or 4 times over the last few years and each time I have been hoping the service would get better because again the facilities are beautiful but I am always once again disappointed. To add the icing on the cake I am getting married this next winter at the Vue right up stairs and decided that maybe I could try getting ready there (full hair makeup and spa day) so I hesitantly walked in to get an idea of price and what my time frame would look like and again wasn't greeted for minutes and when I was it was as if I was bothering her. She had nothing to give me about the wedding services and even offered the suggestion with quite the attitude that I was prob coming in too early. Then I suggested that she take my business card and maybe have a manger call me. But here I am two months later and no call or email. I am not sure my "pretty women" experience will happen to all of you but if you want to ensure that you don't dump hundreds of dollars at a place that is just going to turn around and make you feel not worthy then you may want to try somewhere else. read more

My massage was with Russell. He made me feel very comfortable and gave me a great massage. I prefer a lot of pressure, and he did a great job! I'm pretty small and thin and he was twisting me around and applying lots of pressure (in a VERY GOOD WAY), yet I never felt strained or uncomfortable. I basically let myself be as jelly like as possible. I recommend him for therapeutic massage! I have nerve pain in my arm and neck/back pain. Highly recommend to those with similar issues. read more

I love the sanctuary and my massage therapist, but the customer service of the reception staff is hit or miss... Overall they're nice but they dont do much to connect to clients....however there's been many times where they've been able to squeeze me in last minute hence why I say it's hit or miss. No one reached out to me about my complaint I submitted (even though other complaints have responses) so I'm now taking it to Yelp. The hairdresser was extremely critical of my hair, chopped off eight inches instead of five, straightened my hair because she didn't like how some of my hair curls a bit, messed up the layering, left wax all over my eyebrows, and completely butchered my eyebrows- one looks like it wasn't waxed at all. This is in addition to the general crappy attitude, the look up and down before anyone will talk to you, and the fact that although I tip well I never get offered water or anything, even when everyone around me is being treated well. :( read more

I called Epic to see about scheduling something for the day of New Years Eve... I wanted the works (a massage, facial, mani, & hair) and I was really nervous they wouldn't be able to get me in on such short notice (just like everywhere else I had called prior). The receptionist answered my call with a smile and seemed very happy to accomodate my last minute requests. She got me scheduled for a full morning at their facility no problem. The next day they called me to remind me of my appointments and I was very appreciative of that. I showed up fairly early for my appointment and after they greeted me at the door they wasted no time getting me set up. The adorable receptionist led me through the locker room for a quick tour so there was no confusion as to where I needed to be (it's actually a very large facility). I was assigned a locker with my robe and slippers. After I changed, I took a second to check out the Sauna which was BEAUTIFUL. So relaxing and serene with water dripping all around me. After this I went up the stairs to a quiet but giant room they call the sanctuary. Lots of comfy seating options and a table filled with complimentary water and teas and a few small, healthy snacks. Water features all around and sheer drapes that made you feel completely at peace... and I hadn't even had anything done yet! This is where you wait for them to call you back for your appointments. Half-way through my facial I realized I had forgotten to add more money to my parking meter. The esthetician was more than happy to buzz the front desk and have them put some quarters in the meter for me, no problem. The rest of my experience at Epic was just as amazing. Everyone was so friendly.. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of the wonderful ladies that worked on me but I have a feeling that no matter who you go with here, your end result will be positively breath-taking. *Side note- they have plenty of spa packages, but I found that for me it was a tad bit cheaper to 'build' my own package. I had a 90 min massage from Amber here and it was delightful! My appointment was the first of the day and so I had the whole spa to myself. It was my first time here so I was shown around the beautiful spa. They have a women's locker room with shower, steam room, lockers, Moroccan Oil products for your use, a waiting area with snacks coffee and tea, and very nice treatment rooms. I've now come for two different services: haircut/highlights/lowlights and deep tissue massage. Both are a five-star. Miranda does a phenomenal job with hair. My hair is not all that easy to tame, and she made it look amazing! She both made suggestions AND listened to what I had to say--both important things. And she helped me find new products and a new straightening iron that were both effective and within my budget (didn't have to buy the store). I saw Amber for a massage last week for the first time, and I'll be back. She was knowledgeable about the body, honed in on my problem areas, and made me feel amazing. The family and I- we love this place. Kaylee as a receptionist is amazing. She's very kind, helpful, and never overbearing (you know some receptionists can overwhelm you with their happiness when you first walk into an establishment). I think she also worked at 101(my mom and step dad adore her)-she's very very good. Some people are just fantastic as the face of an establishment, and she is. I do have to admit Kayla (the other receptionist) is not that great. Maybe she is just naturally not a people person-but my mom, my partner and I all agreed she's not that friendly-in fact borderline rude. Maybe Kayla would be better suited not working with customers. I've had massages here-both times absolutely amazing. I wish I could remember their names, but the masseuses were fantastic.
