From the very first appointment, she made me feel comfortable and really listened to what I wanted for my hair. She is also realistic about what's possible, and I always appreciate their honest input on what will work best for my hair type. She is extremely welcoming, friendly, and sweet! I truly hate feeling the need to post a bad review. After searching for a hairstylist since January…read moreon the coast with limited options I decided to drive inland to try this salon. The owners are friendly.The salon nicely decorated and inviting. I was greeted by Lynn the owner. And I expressed my desire to have highlights through my roots to blend and brighten it and the desire to not have any warmth. Something I've done many times before. The first round of highlights went in and were taken out sooner than I've ever experienced. Roots hot orange. Lynn was willing to lighten again, another process to correct. This would've been ok I guess although damaging but what could I do? What bothered me is she then insisted I needed a color correction and that the root color I came in with was the issue, sigh, ugh, not true at all and you're the professional. The process should've been simple, bleach highlight light enough to not turn "hot" and then tone the rest. For years I've toned my roots with Wella T-18 lightest ash blonde in between sessions without any negative affects. I liked my color coming in, it was just very rooted and some greys showing so wanted to blend. The second process was lightening enough highlights to get rid of the warmth and multiple toners to correct. I was stressed throughout the process. I'm 45. This is not my first rodeo. So I now sit with very bright orange highlights mixed with blonde and toners that will fade. Far from good and good from far. The hardest part was I got charged 255 for all of this. Assume the cost of a color "correction"!? Even on Kauai my stylist charged me less. Highlights were partial, underneath not done. And I then got told by the next visit or the one after my hair will look better. I walked out holding tears in and put my hat back on. When I got home my husband was like wow, bright orange with bleach over it, he saw exactly what I see. And said, sorry babe. I really wanted to find someone who could be my stylist going forward. I would've thought with that result an offer such as, come in again in 6 weeks and I'll make it right or something like that would be professional for what I paid and especially from the owner! In Lynn's defense it was her first time doing my hair and I realize it can be challenging. Hope others have a better outcome than what I experienced!

i came in here on a thursday night because my curly, fine hair was getting too long and out of…read morecontrol. after reading the reviews on yelp, i was a little nervous. but i was armed with a coupon for a $10.99 adult haircut, so i figured as long as i didn't have kids and had pictures of what my cut should look like, i should be fine. i was promptly greeted as soon as i walked in, but of course, there were no other customers in the salon, so it'd be hard to miss me! the woman who greeted me had curly hair, such an auspicious sign! i knew this was where i was meant to get my hair cut. the woman, whose name is Erica, seated me in her chair and began to discuss my hair: how curly it is, the types of curls i have, how the curls react when it's cut short, where i parted my hair, what products i used, if i flat ironed my hair. i absolutely was in awe--most of the time, no hairstylist ever asks me about my hair and i end up with weird hair cuts. this visit was off to a great start! after deciding on the length, Erica got down to business snipping away and chatting me up. she's very talkative and has some really hilarious stories! she also let me in on a tip: if you, as a customer, aren't interested in chatting it up with your hairstylist, the universal sign is to close your eyes. Erica told me how she had previously worked at great clips (or super cuts) and was really disappointed in not be able to connect to her customers because she had to give haircuts within a specific amount of time. she also said that she really liked working at hairmasters because not only was she able to connect with customers, but she could also spend the extra time working with them on creating the perfect haircut. after trimming up the back, she started to work on the sides, angling it towards the front. then, she trimmed my bangs and blended them into the sides--exactly how i wanted it! i have such a cute angled curly bob now! the haircut is great for my face shape and helps me to be more in control of my curls. Erica gets 5 gold stars in my book! if you have curly hair and are on a budget, you should definitely pay a visit to Erica! she won't even push any products on you. if you're turned off by the other reviews for this place on yelp, make an appointment with Erica--she's friendly and fabulous! she's willing to listen to you and work with you to get their haircut that you want.

None have been as good as Garrett. 9 months ago I had a horrible cut at an Aveda salon in Eugene. Ive been growing out my hair since. Just recently, I drove 50 min (one way) to Garret to get my hair fixed. He did such a great job, as always. I've learned my lesson.
