The family and I- we love this place. Kaylee as a receptionist is amazing. She's very kind, helpful, and never overbearing (you know some receptionists can overwhelm you with their happiness when you first walk into an establishment). I think she also worked at 101(my mom and step dad adore her)-she's very very good. Some people are just fantastic as the face of an establishment, and she is. I do have to admit Kayla (the other receptionist) is not that great. Maybe she is just naturally not a people person-but my mom, my partner and I all agreed she's not that friendly-in fact borderline rude. Maybe Kayla would be better suited not working with customers. I've had massages here-both times absolutely amazing. I wish I could remember their names, but the masseuses were fantastic. Haven't had anything else here but a massage, but I would suggest checking it out. The facility is lovely. read more

I have had my hair cut a few times at Epic over the years. I've tried 3 different stylists, including Carla, the owner. Carla was the only one that understood my hair and had the confidence and technical skill to cut it right. The last time I tried to schedule with Carla I was told I could no longer see her, and was redirected to a novice stylist. The stylist lacked confidence and skill and the cut was not good, but I did not complain. Subsequent to this appointment, for no apparent reason, I received a call from the receptionist and was told that I was not longer welcomed, and that I go elsewhere. The call was out of the blue, and the receptionist gave no explanation and hung up on me when I asked questions about what prompted this. This treatment was beyond rude and still rattles me several months later. The salon itself is an attractive "upscale" looking space, but this does not equate to superior service and skill across the board for every hair stylist. As noted, I did not complain, but my request for Carla was seemingly enough to be turned away as a client. This behavior demonstrates a corporate attitude of arrogance and rudeness, and really reflects an insecurity and incompetence about how to run a business. It was my first time at Epic Day Spa and it was amazing !! I went for a basic Swedish massage. My masseuses name was Sarah and she did a wonderful job. The first time at Rpic Day Spa can be one to remember. They give you a complimentary pre-massage package of using their sauna and sitting area, which normally costs just $20 (not a bad price). The spa opens at 930 so you can go and sit in the sauna and sanctuary area for as long as you like !! It is a very relaxing atmosphere and I have already booked my next appointment for April with my friend before attending a wedding ! They also offer other services like paraffin wax hands and feet for $10, hot stone etc. the basic Swedish massage only cost 77 and I paid a total of $92 (so a 20% tip). I may have to go back and start getting my hair cut there as well. :) read more

I got a Brazilian bikini wax at Epic Day Spa. It was done by a woman named Michelle H. At most other places they try to wax you as fast as possible, which is great if you're in a hurry but it really hurts! Michelle was great because she only ripped off a small chuck of hair at a time which made the pain very minimal and tolerable. They also play relaxing music to help keep you calm. Afterwards she gave me great advice on how to prevent ingrown hairs from happening. The only thing that would have made my experience better was if it was just a little cheaper. Brazilian bikini waxes cost about $50 to $70 here. read more

I get a great cut from Miranda, and it's always easy for me to make an appointment without calling too far in advance. The price is very reasonable compared to what I was used to paying for a cut. I got an eyebrow wax once and they were pretty uneven so I won't go back for a wax. read more

I took my boyfriend to this spa for a Valentine's Weekend retreat for us and we both got full body swedish massages. They were absolutely WONDERFUL! This place is an amazing secret, I hadn't heard anything about it before I found their website. I was originally going to book massages at another spa, but they were booked for the day I wanted, so I went with Epic (the only reason I was going to go with the other spa was because it was a bit cheaper). I am SO glad we ended up going to Epic! First of all, Epic is on 2nd street, a little hard to find...I passed by it the first time we drove by, and parking isn't obvious. Other than that, I was absolutely stunned when we walked into the lobby of Epic. The building is lovely, as is the lighting, furniture, and sounds. The receptionist greeted us and promptly got us the paperwork(which wasn't hard at all to fill out) and cheerfully showed us to the locker rooms. Oh, that's another thing Epic has: locker rooms with showers(both regular and overhead), a steam room, they provide sandals, robes, and towels, and a mini fridge full of waters. The showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The locker rooms also have like 4 sinks with mirrors, as well as bunches of hair products that you can use for before you leave as well as blow dryers, curling irons, straightners, and brushes. There's even Q-tips (and for women, tampons). From the locker rooms there is a staircase that leads up to the "sanctuary" where there are comfy chairs, soothing music, a fountain, cucumber water, and small snacks like cashews and fruit. The best thing is, the locker room and sanctuary use is free for first timers (only $20 every time after, so worth it) and you can stay as long as you like(before they close). The massages themselves were heavenly. The beds were very soft and squishy and HEATED! My boyfriend actually got too hot and asked for the bed to be turned off, which was done promptly, but I was fine. The swedish massages were very relaxing helped with soothing oils. The music was also very soothing. I wish the massage would have gone longer. After the massage (we were told to take our time to get up and put on our robes) we received cold glasses of fresh water and were invited to continue our stay as long as we liked. The customer service was wonderful, everything in the locker room was always kept replentished, as were the snacks and water in the sanctuary. The only complaint I had was that I was originally going to be charged for a hot stone and deep tissue massage, instead of two swedish(I had originally booked the hot stone and deep tissue), but after telling the receptionist that there were no hot stones, I only paid for the swedish and it wasn't a big deal at all. Only thing about the locker rooms is that there are no clocks, so you can really lose track of time there, I know I did. Epic does lots of different services and I strongly recommend it to anyone needing a bit of pampering:) read more

my friend and I were thrilled to spend the afternoon at epic and had been looking forward to it for weeks. she drove down from salem for the appointment and we both arranged the afternoon off of work. unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we wound up 17 minutes late. we were told at check-in that the spa would be unable to provide the initial services set for that time as it had other appointments to keep. we were disappointed of course but understood and continued the afternoon with our other treatments. at the end of the day we checked out, and were billed for the services we had missed, about $85 in addition to the services we received (just shy of $250). we were initially confused, at whether this would provide a credit for future services. no. we were advised in no uncertain terms that it was a bill for time the providers could have set other clients and since we in essence wasted their time we would be billed for it. we mentioned our concern to the receptionist and management was suppose to follow up but never did. from a certain perspective this bill is understandable; however, we will not be returning to this spa. ever. read more

I have only been to this place once and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. The set up was very lovely and very clean. I had only gone to get my hair cut but my stylist (very sweet petite girl, with gorgeous long brown hair, not sure of her name) suggested a slight trim with long layers because she thought that my hair was a great length and that if I cut it too short, I might not be happy about it later since it would of been my first time at that length. I have to say she was absolutely right. And the style she gave me was perfect. I unfortunately was only in town for that week visiting friends, but I know exactly where I plan to go when I come back. I am actually not going to let anyone touch my hair and figure out a way to come back soon. This place was very welcoming and I really enjoyed the company and very sweet girls.
