Recently I went to Adore and booked with Hillary on short notice. Me and my mom went to the salon at around 6 pm, so I was her last client. I was pretty particular about what I wanted to get because it was my first time at an actually salon (not greatclips or supercuts) and it actually went pretty well! She was really nice and there was music playing, and it didn't feel awkward. She explained a lot of things about my haircut and how to style it, so it would look as great as she made it in the salon. Very overpriced & they kept increasing the $$$ and the "reason" was very confusing. I showed them how I wanted a specific hairstyle and color only for my stylist to tell me it won't be possible and proceeded to charge almost $400. Three days later after I washed my hair, the platinum color from the bleach turned orange and they wouldn't give a refund. Do not let the shorter man cut your hair; I went in to have my almost chin-length bob "shaped up". The first thug he did was to take clippers to the back and I ended up leaving with a short cut. Kudos to the woman who helped "tidy" the short cut. read more

I had a hair consult at this salon a month ago (October 3rd) where I spoke with stylist Shawnee Hoff and we developed a whole plan for how we would do my hair color. She gave me several ideas for ways to do it without using bleach which I was excited about because I don't want to damage my hair any more than necessary. I booked an appointment a month out for today (Nov 7th) to do the coloring. Yesterday after I had already confirmed my appointment, I got an automated email letting me know my stylist had been changed. I'd already confirmed the appointment so I didn't think there was a way to cancel at that point in time. I assumed someone from the salon would call to let me know what happened and why my appointment was changed like that but I didn't get any call or explanation. I showed up to my appointment this morning with the other stylist having no idea what I'd discussed at my consult. When I started to explain, she said it wouldn't be possible to do what Shawnee and I had discussed. She also told me her fees are dramatically higher than Shawnee's and recommended I reschedule for a time Shawnee would be available to avoid paying double what I was quoted. I asked why I was scheduled with someone else without a call asking if it would be okay (as it was becoming clear to me I'd given up most of my day for a service that would not be happening at this point) and was told that the stylist I had scheduled with got sick and no one called to tell me. This was a huge disappointment. I was so excited for my hair color service I'd been waiting for for a month and left with nothing done and advice to try scheduling it again. The communication from the salon was incredibly lacking. For coloring services that usually take a few hours, it would have been really helpful to get some kind of phone call to let me know it would be cancelled when I got there. read more

I went to Adore salon last May when they had only been open for a few months. I booked my balayage appointment with Alexis, one of the co-owners of the salon. I gave her pictures of what I wanted in terms of lightening and described the balayage I wanted as honey-colored. She was very kind and accommodating, however I didn't get the hair color I wanted. Toward the end of the appointment I told her that it wasn't nearly as light as I had hoped and she said that was because of the toner she used and that it should lighten up after a few washes, but that if it wasn't as light as I wanted it by then to text her (she gave me her cell #). About two weeks later my hair still wasn't any lighter so I texted her. No response. I texted again without a response and simply decided not to go there again. I thought I was very clear on what I wanted and I know the lifting capability of my own hair as I'd had the same balayage done previously at a different salon. I thought it was very rude to ignore a customer whose hair she promised to fix, and made my way over to Epic instead. I've loved Epic ever since. Substituted my technician for waxing. I called and asked about it and they asked if I'd try them and I said okay. I should have asked more questions like when was the last time they did a wax. Technician was very sweet and apologetic but clearly doesn't do waxing. Said she was asked if she could do it because other technician left and said she could. Mentioned she learned in school but doesn't do waxing ~ specializes in hair which I am sure she's very good at. Wax wasn't hot enough, I have tears under both eyebrows and had to start plucking chin and lip this morning. I have never had this previously. Sore yes but tears, no. I am not using name as they did the best they could. Their mistake was saying they could do something they clearly don't have much experience in and my mistake was assuming they would not schedule someone to do a waxing without sufficient experience to do it safely. The tears are painful to the touch and I am worried they'll scar. Hopefully not! read more

I went into the salon with long, dark brown hair that was very healthy. I ended up with short, orange hair that is still falling out in decent sized chunks. My appointment was with Alexis, the co-owner. I'll attach photos of my hair before, and after. My hair was dry btw; just THAT damaged. I went in wanting white blonde hair. About 2.5 years ago, I had dyed my hair and even though it hadn't touched dye in a very long time, I understand that I would probably need 3-4 sessions before I could be platinum. What I walked out with was hair that was white in one day with bright orange ends. I wasn't upset about that; comes with going blonde. What I was upset about is that my hair was coming out in huge chunks. And I had a bunk of spots that got missed with the bleach. When I brushed my hair after showering, I had a baseball sized chunk on my hairbrush. No joke. My hair was elastic. It definitely chemically melted. I'll attach a pic. I called the salon 7 times and got no response. I left 4 voicemails. I never got a response. I called the salon again about 5 days later and the other co-owner picked up. She was very nice and got Alexis for me. Alexis had me come in, gave my hair a deep conditioning treatment and chopped it to shoulder length for free. She said she'd see me in two weeks for another conditioning treatment and gave me her cell number. Well my hair is obviously still falling out and I have huge orange spots, but she hasn't answered any of my texts or calls. I'm obviously being dodged. There's a chance it's a big miscommunication but at this point, I doubt it. Long story short; I paid a lot of money for my hair to get very fucked up and got dodged by the owner when I tried to get it fixed. The other owner is awesome. Her nail art is next level and she's very friendly. I highly recommend getting your nails done here, but go somewhere else for your hair. Update: I was contacted by Kristy because my negative review was unwanted. She offered to do my hair for free and in exchange, based on whether or not I felt the experience deserved it, I would update my review. The appointment was set for the 2nd at 9am. We established it several times through yelp messenger but she didn't show. I got out of bed at 7:30 on a Saturday for no reason. I'm even more bummed about this place than before. I scheduled myself with 'Dial H for Hair' and I'm crossing my fingers they can fix the mess Adore Salon created. read more

I have been a client of Adore salon for more than a year and am really impressed. I followed my stylist from Honeycomb to Adore. Although I was sad to leave Honeycomb, Adore Salon has turned it out! It's a chic salon with great songs and very clean stations. I get my hair dyed blonde and each appointment I have I love! My stylist is fun to talk too, has so much experience, and I can tell takes her clients input very seriously. The products there are my favorite. They are fresh, clean, and vegan and I highly recommend buying them. Each new scent is my favorite. If you haven't tried them, go! Came in for an eyebrow wax. The tech was very nice and the space was clean & pretty. My eyebrow was was okay but wasn't able to hold the mirror to really check it out so I fixed a few spots when I got home. The only real complaint I have is that if you are going to charge $3 PPE fee then please be courteous and let customers know ahead of time. I would be fine with paying it due to current times but I received multiple confirmation emails with no such notification (I checked them when I got home to make sure). I also checked your website including the COVID announcement that was made and don't see any post of where that fee is now being applied. Again, I would have been fine paying it as my usual tech is closed but not being notified before was super off putting and made my experience not great. read more

Kristy is so gifted at doing hair - she has always done EXACTLY what I've asked of her, and she has given me some great suggestions about what I can do differently to change my look. She is also one of the most positive, energetic people I've ever been around, and I love that she always wants to know about what has changed in my life since the last time I've seen her. I went to a door salon almost 3 weeks ago. I'm an older woman and so I did a lot of research to make sure that I was going to a reputable salon because I was drastically changing the look of my hair. I consulted with the salon text them a picture before my appointment and once I got there I showed the hairstylist the picture of the haircut I wanted twice. The 1st thing she did was take a razor and shave all my hair off and leave a bowl on the top of my head. It didn't look anything like The picture. For the rest of the haircut she twisted and pulled as hard as she could and hacked it off with the razor my head hurt for 2 weeks it's the worst haircut I've ever had in my entire life I let the salad know immediately the following weeks since I had my hair done on a Saturday and the owner said that she would give me a refund and instead now she's saying they don't give refunds into bed for me as a result I've had to buy a wig and it's going to take months for my hair to look normal again. I give them a 0 for $355 I should have gotten exactly what I wanted. It was my worst experience ever don't waste your time or lots of your money. read more

I made an appointment looking for basically some highlights, cover my gray and adding dimension. I was never contacted by anyone at the salon prior to my appointment, so when I went in I couldn't believe the "price breakdown" I received. I have no problem paying for an excellent experience, but I couldn't believe the list of different services I'd have to pay for to achieve the look I wanted-nearly $300 (my hair is above shoulder length.) When I told her I was hoping to stay within the $200 range, she didn't offer anything in my budget. I was so upset and disappointed I just walked out. I found another salon a few blocks away, and they were like "Yep, we can definitely do a combo of highlights and lowlights and a base color." It was exactly what I wanted and it was only $150. I have no idea how Adore can justify their prices and have such inconsiderate service. They don't realize not only did they lose me as a customer, they lost everyone I would refer. read more

My hair was also super patchy and overpriced for such a terrible job. First off, the salon itself is adorable and all the employees are very welcoming! I got a full set of hybrid lashes from Alexis and absolutely adore her! She really cares about the health of your natural lashes and you can tell is very passionate about what she does. I've had lashes for about a year and a half and I'm used to a more dramatic look however, she thought it would be a good idea to make them light and shorter until my first fill, to give my natural lashes a break and time to grow which was a bummer at first but I can already tell my lashes seem stronger. I had a great experience at this salon! Having not colored my hair in over 8 years I was a little nervous, but they put me with Jennifer B who made me feel so comfortable with the process. She did an amazing balayage from my brown hair to a blended blonde. My hair was also really long and she took the time to cut with me seated and standing to make sure it was even. Also the girls there were so sweet and all the staff was very accommodating, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to the establishment itself, but with that being said these are the worst eyelashes I've gotten. I've had them less than a week (Wednesday-Monday) and they are all almost gone. They've also been irritating my eyes for the past 3 days, and are doing damage to my actual lashes. They were also more on the expensive side especially for the durability and retention I've had. I am not new to eyelash extensions either, I've been getting them for the past year and a half and I have never had an experience like this. I recently relocated to Corvallis and was looking for a new place to get my extensions. I know they have other ladies who specialize in lashes also, so I am not speaking to all the ladies there. Horrendous experience! 100% do not recommend. The "hairstylist" Karlee had absolutely no idea how to properly foil hair - I asked for a mix of low and hi highlights and only got one color. The toner I was wary of and told her so and it blended everything together. She only cut the very back of my hair - did not shape or layer the sides as requested. The manager told me to go buy clarifying shampoo - WHAT. My bangs she kept screwing up and they were so uneven by the time she almost got it right I had to tell her to just stop. They are so short I have to wear headbands until they grow out some. She left hair dye all over my neck which I noticed when I got home AND my hair was still wet. Alexis the owner had a 100%guarantee - I have emailed her several times and to call me and get a refund - CRICKETS. A dispute had been opened with my credit card company. It was an AWFUL experience. Shame on them touting themselves as a hair salon. I could have gotten better treatment snd results from a pet groomer. read more
