I'm sad to leave this review as I'd had one previous appointment that went great! I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance and was REALLY looking forward to it, but getting there 5 minutes early to an empty and dark shop with no note on the front was very disheartening. I waited for 15 minutes after my time hoping maybe....they just had to step out or something but nobody showed up. I looked up reviews and unfortunately found out that this is a very common occurrence unfortunately. I really wanted to keep supporting them since they're an LGBTQ+ run business but this kind of ruined my day and just....sucks. I hope they're doing ok and can figure out better times for them? But I wouldn't recommend coming here as it's not guaranteed that you will even get your hair cut. :( read more

My daughter and I have been going to Dial H for years. We have always been happy with our cuts and conversations. The stylists are great. However that being said. We had an appointment get cancelled do to a cold(totally fine and understandable). I got a message to reschedule my appointment. I set up an appointment for two days later. When we arrive it was dark and locked up. Thinking maybe she was sick still and forgot to cancel the appointment I was forgiving. We then decided to schedule another appointment 3 days later. Again it was dark and locked up. Never a cancelation. I wasted my time and money driving driving here and waiting. I've left emails with no reply. So unprofessional. I don't like to give a bad review but this was just kind of disappointing :( I had an appointment set up a week in advance, then the day comes and I get a text from one of the stylists saying there's a leak and to reschedule. This was fine by me, totally understandable, so I rescheduled for the next week. I found the salon and got there about 10 minutes early. The place was completely dark, all the lights shut off. I resigned myself to waiting, thinking that maybe they were going to open late today or something. After 20 minutes of waiting (so 10 minutes after my appointment time) I texted the stylist asking if the store was closed. No response, which was weird because I got a response when we talked about rescheduling due to the leak. Waited around 10 more minutes, nothing, so I just left :/ I think it would be fine if I got any kind of response back, and I thought I was being polite, but the lack of communication when the time came was strange. read more

10/10 the only place I will go in Corvallis - at all times. During COVID the precautions and sanitizing made me feel at ease to get my hair done and visit with my favorite and only hairspist - Irene is the best human and most caring lovely person. As much as I hate writing bad reviews I think it is important to write this one to prevent other people to go through what I had. I went there for a balayage and hair cut and had the worst experience. My hair was long and without any die, I brought lots of pictures showing what I wanted and the results could not have been more different. I spent five hours in the salon and the final results were terrible. I was left with a brassy blonde tone all over my hair except for two Inches on my roots. Then I got back asking to be fixed, and she assured me she was capable to fix it. Another five hours later my hair was Burgandy red!!!! All I wanted was a blonde Balayage. Now I hate my hair and will have to spend more money and go another hair salon to get itfixed. Seriously, don't go there! read more

I loved this place and my stylist Irene as well. I've paid way more for haircuts but feel most places don't take enough time discussing your options. Usually I show photo to a stylist and they do what you want without asking follow up questions. She asked about my lifestyle and suggested modifications based on the fact that I'm a wash and go type of person. She really spent a good amount of time figuring out what would work best for me. The place has a cool funky vibe and you can go as you are and you don't feel the need to dress up compared to some places in Corvallis. read more

This place was a little hard for me to find because it's downstairs in the shopping center connected to Starbucks. Finding it was definitely worth it. They know how to work with different types of hair and they listened when I said what I wanted. I plan to come back to have my hair dyed, since they are specifically trained in it and have a huge wall of dyes. I brought my other half in to get his hair cut and he felt so handsome afterwards. We've had a hard time finding someone who can cut black hair well but we finally found our place. He got all kinds of compliments. I will definitely bring him back. read more

Like a few others here, I don't usually write reviews, but this has been the weirdest experience. Made an appointment a few months ago, got a text to reschedule due to Covid. No problem. Texted before my rescheduled appointment to check in and got no reply so showed up at the time of appointment to a sign on the door saying they were closed. Eventually tried to make an appointment again, which was a couple of months out. Got the confirmation text, emails, etc, showed up about five minutes early, and the place was locked up and darn. Have been waiting 15 minutes past appointment time and there is still nobody home. Never got any notifications or anything. Looks like I'm not the first one this year. I am in my mid-40's, have medium-length, superfine hair and went in for a trim and colored highlights. Twice. So, it's usually a bit awkward to make conversation with someone you don't really know. These girls made it painfully awkward and the color washed out much quicker than other comparable dye-jobs. Sure, they appear to be cool, but it seemed disingenuous (almost pretentious, really!) and the quality was average, at best. If you are needing anything more than an average, technically non-demanding service with potentially super awkward convo, I would suggest trying a simple service first to test them out before committing to potentially embarrassing services; or avoid them for now. read more

I am very frustrated with this salon. I read these lovely reviews and decided to try them out for a trim. I mentioned that my previous hairstylist had made some weird cuts to my layers and asked if there was a way to fix them without cutting my hair more than an inch. I repeatedly stressed that I did not want her to do anything to it if she felt like she needed to cut a lot off. They look about a half an hour to just look at my hair and "see what's happening". She then spent the next hour telling me how awful my hair had looked and ended up cutting about 2 1/2 inches off. I was so uncomfortable that I had a panic attack in the chair and became nonverbal. The stylist did not seem to notice because she was busy talking to the other stylist about their social life and how horrible I looked when I came in. I spent the rest of the day crying and having recurring anxiety attacks. It might seem silly to become this upset over hair, but when I specifically asked her not to drastically cut my hair, I expected her to respect that. I have waited almost a month to write this review because I wanted to make sure I had a clear view of everything that happened. However, I am still incredibly frustrated and upset that they went against my wishes and did something that has caused me a lot of anxiety and stress. I feel it was unprofessional, insensitive, and frankly a little cruel that she spent most of the time berating me and making me feel ugly. I do not recommend this business at all. read more

I booked with Amy and she rescheduled twice which was fine with me because she told me before. We scheduled an appointment over email for last week and when I arrived no one was there. I waited for 20 minutes before leaving. I have been trying to contact the salon for the past week with no luck. I've called, emailed, and used the contact form on the website. It was one of terribles haircuts i have ever got from salons. It was a super simple haircut without styling at all even though i showed her the picture. My hair turned out nothing like it. I have been going here to see Amy Mumford for a year and a half. I had a practically black purple dye job that needed to be made gone, as my hair is coming in a beautiful silver. She took my damaged hair and over the course of many months, without having to drastically cut my hair pixie style, brought it to a healthy, silver head with some fun teal blue and purple thrown in at my request. I am not a fan of leaving bad reviews but feel this is necessary so no one else is put in the same position I was. I had an 11:45 appointment to get a Dark to Light (blonde) Baylayge and an eyebrow waxing. I showed inspiration pictures to my stylist and she was confident that she could give me what I wanted. I told her that this would be the color for my wedding, and that I've always dreamed of having hair like this. After two hours (allotted time slot for my appointment), my hair wasn't even finished lifting (lightening) and their was still a layer of hair that needed to have product put on it. My stylist told me she was going to let my hair set, and finish the last layer after she finishes cutting another clients hair. After she was done with the other client, She proceed to put lifting agent on my hair, let it sit, then we washed it out. She put a conditioning mask in my hair and then proceeded to see two other clients when they came in for their appointment times. It was almost 3 at this point, over an hour since I should of left the salon. By the time she finished my hair it was 7:30 in the evening. It took her 7 and 1/2 hours to do my hair, the end product not being what I asked for. The part that is supposed to be blonde is gray, silver, and has a tint of green. I left the salon without getting my eyebrows done due to the hair taking SO long. My stylist blamed me for my hair taking so long because I used the term "dream hair". I then woke up the next day with a chemical reaction on my ears, neck and face. I have used hair dye since I was 13 and never had any reaction like that. When telling the salon about this, they encouraged I go to the doctor, and offered to have me come in so they could fix it. I requested a refund rather than getting it fixed, and they gave my money back to me with no problem. Overall the salon made me feel like I wasn't important when they put me on the back burner and continued to see clients for their time slots when we already went outrageously over my time slot. It was my only day off, and I had other plans for the day that I had to cancel, and left the salon disappointed with my hair. read more
