Start from the top. My stylist was Ashley…read more Appointments are made online. So for this review, I just need to say that telephoning and make an appointment for older folks (or at least this older lady) is easier or at least what we I am used to. So it wasn't ideal but I'm getting that perm! Arrived at the salon, it's in a really nice quiet spot, which is a preference for me. I waited only a few minutes before Ashley came out and got me. And then there was an interesting kind of walk-through maze to get where we needed to go. We were the only ones there in the back for a few minutes until another lady showed up who was a stylist. It was just very quiet and not very busy. It looked to me like maybe just a slow day. Ashley was very nice. She asked me what kind of perm I was looking for and I hadn't had a perm since I was a kid so about 30 years ago and we figured it out. Then she took me to the bowl, washed my hair and took me back and rolled me up. When it was all over and done with (less than half an hour) I was very pleasantly surprised. Now this was my first perm like I said in 30 years, and I had a couple spots that if I really wanted to take the time and go back and have her correct a couple places I could've done that but I think overall I chose not to do that for two reasons. First I wanted to take my time with this new opportunity and work with my hair that is normally very straight for the most part with a permanent and second I really feel like I could live with it. I had a straight area in the front and the back was definitely not, as curled as I was wanting. Now the kicker. I absolutely am going back to get another perm. I love my hair. It's super fun. I can blow it out straight and it has lots of body that it didn't used to have and I really love the it! It's fun like I said, and it's definitely something that I want to keep. I don't think I'll go back to straight hair again. It has been the end of May that I got my perm and there's still plenty of life in it. I will probably go back in the next couple of months for another perm. My hair wasn't damaged and it wasn't frizzy and it was overall a really great experience. The reason why I gave four out of five stars is that the salon was a little dusty, there wasn't much product to look at for someone like myself who has not been in the hairstylist game for a long time and I was looking for more support from the staff. I felt like they should've/could've been more proactive in that area instead of me needing to ask questions and then I kind of felt dumb so I just stopped where I was and I didn't ask any more questions about product or anything else like that. With all of the above mentioned in mind, I absolutely would suggest locks and lashes and like I said I'll be returning.

I truly hate feeling the need to post a bad review. After searching for a hairstylist since January…read moreon the coast with limited options I decided to drive inland to try this salon. The owners are friendly. The salon nicely decorated and inviting. I was greeted by Lynn the owner. And I expressed my desire to have highlights through my roots to blend and brighten it and the desire to not have any warmth. Something I've done many times before. The first round of highlights went in and were taken out sooner than I've ever experienced. Roots hot orange. Lynn was willing to lighten again, another process to correct. This would've been ok I guess although damaging but what could I do? What bothered me is she then insisted I needed a color correction and that the root color I came in with was the issue, sigh, ugh, not true at all and you're the professional. The process should've been simple, bleach highlight light enough to not turn "hot" and then tone the rest. For years I've toned my roots with Wella T-18 lightest ash blonde in between sessions without any negative affects. I liked my color coming in, it was just very rooted and some greys showing so wanted to blend. The second process was lightening enough highlights to get rid of the warmth and multiple toners to correct. I was stressed throughout the process. I'm 45. This is not my first rodeo. So I now sit with very bright orange highlights mixed with blonde and toners that will fade. Far from good and good from far. The hardest part was I got charged 255 for all of this. Assume the cost of a color "correction"!? Even on Kauai my stylist charged me less. Highlights were partial, underneath not done. And I then got told by the next visit or the one after my hair will look better. I walked out holding tears in and put my hat back on. When I got home my husband was like wow, bright orange with bleach over it, he saw exactly what I see. And said, sorry babe. I really wanted to find someone who could be my stylist going forward. I would've thought with that result an offer such as, come in again in 6 weeks and I'll make it right or something like that would be professional for what I paid and especially from the owner! In Lynn's defense it was her first time doing my hair and I realize it can be challenging. Hope others have a better outcome than what I experienced!

And it sounds like such a simple thing but my daughter has had experiences where she's say "I would like it cut just below my shoulders" and end up with something closer to a "bob." Crystal was also very pleasant and friendly to talk with. Never felt like she was trying to 'push' my daughter towards a specific style. Like "you should really do this, it will look amazing on you!" Rather Crystal did make a few small suggestions and then clarified that it wouldn't affect my daughter's ability to have her hair in a pony tail. My daughter went ahead with a few additional cuts and it definitely turned out even better. I asked my daughter if she would want to come back and she said "definitely!" :) We also scheduled out appointment online, which was easy and quick to do. We showed up a few minutes early and Crystal was just finishing up with another customer so we didn't have to wait around at all. There's a comfy couch to sit on, which i really liked b/c normally, I might either sit in a salon chair or in the waiting area (where I'm more out of touch w/ what's going on). But this way it was easy for me to be part of the conversation and my daughter knows I'm right there if she needs anything. Parking is easy as there is reserved parking for customers only. Credit cards are accepted and you can leave a tip using your card (or not) if you'd like. Certainly a place I'd recommend to anyone (guys can get cuts here to) and especially students as they all get discounts :)

I have not been to a professional salon in over 7 years, and have been cutting my own hair at least that long. That being said, I was very nervous! Alicia was absolutely perfect when it came to making me feel comfortable, and I felt that she really listened to what I needed. By the end of the session, I felt very confident, and adventurous! She was kind and patient, and started off slow enough that I could see the evolution of the cut, which allowed me to be bold and say CUT MORE! By the end of the session I completely trusted her to give me the most attractive cut and color for my face shape and personal style. Before going to see her at Jason'Salon, I followed her on Facebook and Instagram which gave me a good look at what she had done for past clients. She also designs the website and has her own blog where she shares her work and customers before and after photos. I highly suggest following her on all social media accounts! Before my cut and color I had waist length single layer dark brown hair with side swept bangs. She gave me a casual, but sexy cut with bangs and an ombre color that fades from my natural color to a beautiful caramel. She also offers complimentary bang trimming which is a PLUS!! I will be back to see her ASAP!
