I just want everyone to know how bad La belles was here in albany I asked for them to dye half of my hair gray with lavender blended into it and instead they gave me orange, Gray, bright ass neon purple and bleach blonde hair. I took them a week and a half to get my money back. The worst customer service of my entire life. And the worst first time experience I've ever had in my life. Don't go there unless you want to be rushed out and have fucked up hair. I could have done this shit myself if I wanted it to look this bad. Beware ladies! read more

I have been to La Belle for both hair services with Alex and massages from Carla. Both of these ladies are wonderful, friendly and amazing at what they do so I can only imagine everyone here provides fantastic service! Starting with Alex: She is a sweetheart and really listens to what you want. I was unsure of a dark red color I wanted and asked her to pick what she thought suited my skin tone. The color ended up perfect as well as the cut. She gave me a cute lob with half moon bangs. I have always cut my own bangs thanks to some nightmare cuts in the past so I was nervous but I ended up loving them. I've never been loyal to a a hair stylist before but I'll never go to another as long as she's around! Carla: I've had a lot of massages. I worked for a spa during college so I have experienced a lot of massage styles. In February I was suffering from terrible pain on the right side of my neck and almost daily headaches. I booked my first appointment with Carla and she worked miracles on my back, neck and shoulders. Not only did her wonderful massage help relieve the tension in my neck and completely relieve my headaches but an observation she made also helped me to realize a posture problem I needed to fix immediately to prevent the same pain. I've visited a few therapists since moving back to Albany and her skill surpasses them all. I highly recommend her for anything from relaxation to injuries, or chronic back/neck/shoulder pain. I like to support local businesses so I struggled about whether to write this review. I went to La Belle for a mani/pedi. The boutique is in a lovely historic building and I was surprised and dismayed to be ushered through the salon into a back room that looked like a storage closet. It was a dark mud color and there was a nail station and a pedi "bench" where they carry a bucket of warm water to you, i.e. no true set up. It just got worse. While Sarah was personable, she was dressed for the farm in old jeans and a t-shirt. Her idea of a pedicure seemed to be to soak and then rub lotion on -- she cut the nails but no scrubbing, filing of callouses, masque. The manicure was less ambitious. I was shocked when checking out to find the cost was the same as in salons where I've had very good service. It was such a disappointment. I won't be going back. read more

I had a pretty simple hair cut done last week. I am in between styles, so there wasn't much that could have been done. I just let the hair dresser do her thing. The results were totally acceptable. Split ends gone, shape was fine, scissors were sharp. I will probably go back again. The location is convenient, the space is comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The stylist gave me her card and told me to text her to get in for any complimentary bang trims while in between cuts. Very considerate. The cut itself was only 30 dollars, plus tip. That included a wash, condition, cut and dry, no styling. Pretty good deal. Looking forward to trying it again. :) read more

My hairstylist is Roxie and she is amazing!!! I've always had a hard time finding anyone who can properly cut my curly hair, but Roxie does it perfect every time. The first time I went in see her I wanted to cut about 8 inches off and do a new funky style. I was nervous because I'd never seen her before so she asked me to let her give me my normal cut and if I liked how she handled may hair we could go short. I've never had a stylist that truly cared to establish that trust. It was great, and now I've been going to her for about 2 years! I'm constantly wanting to change my style of cut -- many time to very alternative (slightly hipster at times) styles and Roxie always does a superb job. She can do any style you can come up with and it always turns out amazing. (And her prices are really good.) I highly recommend her!!! read more

Carla can work wonders! I was in a car accident ten years ago and still have awful pain in my back/neck/ribs and before I found Carla I was helpless. It is very difficult to schedule. I bought a groupon for a facial, and the woman who does it (Carla) doesn't leaver her schedule with the salon, so when you call to make your appointment they can't help you. I left a voicemail on the personal phone of Carla who does the facials but it wasn't returned. So I called the salon again and was told to go to schedulicity. I did and scheduled my facial online. I thought everything was good until someone, who is not Carla or anyone from the salon, left a voicemail on my phone to say there had been an error with the online program and that I needed to call again to reschedule. I was on vacation and called back when I got home (about four days later) and left another voicemail on Carla's phone. I called the salon again to see if I could straighten it all out but was told they can't help me because again they don't have access to her schedule and that Carla basically sold too many gropuons and didn't have time to do them all and she's had to hire someone to do her scheduling but they didn't know who. No one at the salon had heard of the representative of Carla who called me and all they could to was tell me to keep calling and hope she has time to call me back.
