Wow! I just got my hair fixed after leaving this place. I ended up going to Great Clips in the mall parking lot to fix this nightmare disaster of a haircut that I received at mastercuts. First of all the lady cutting my hair was not polite at all. Then above my right ear she cut way too far up for the "trim around the ears". On my left side the hair up front wasn't even cut. When I went into get my hair fixed they asked if I did this myself!!! No I paid 18 bucks but I feel like I got massacred. Come to find out the back was all jacked up also. WARNING!!! WARNING!!! DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE. GO ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND GO TO GREAT CLIPS. Honestly go anywhere else. I get my hair cut every 2 weeks and am 38 years old and by far this is the worst hair cut I have ever received. Stay far far away from this place. read more

When my regular hairstylist was unavailable at the at the Times I needed, I had to find another salon. After reading other reviews on Mastercuts, I decided to give it and specifically Tammie, a try as a new hairstylist. I just had my hair colored with a partial weave and a trim, for the third time today. All the good reviews mentioning Tammie are true, she does an excellent job! She's also very passionate about doing hair. And seems like an all-around nice person. In fact everyone at Mastercuts seems nice. I highly recommend Tammie for your next color or weave! Ok... Aweful!! Worst $17 I ever spent! Took my 15 yr old son in for a simple hair cut and the lady cut and trimmed way too fast for someone NOT experienced. The back was trimmed way too high and one side was rounded and one side was squared. His sideburns were uneven and she cut the whole top of his head with thinners. I guess when your bangs are so long and in your face you can't see what the hell your doing. I had to go home and fix it all!! Will never go back. read more

First time I went in was for just a standard mens haircut witch they butchered. The whole time I was getting my haircut the lady cutting my hair was telling me about how white trashy some of her costumers had been for the day. I then went back the next day (like a idiot) to have them fix my hair and the whole time the new lady cutting my hair was talking bad about how the lady that originally cut my hair was so white trashy and sucks at cutting hair. After moving to the area and having a bad cut at another salon, I came here from a referral hoping and praying my experience and outcome would be much better. I was a little nervous but once Angie started our consultation I knew I was in good hands. She really understood what I wanted and fixed the bad cut I received from another salon. My fault for going to this place thinking maybe my cut would be different. I haven't cut my hair for five years and my hair was past my back. I let the stylist know I wanted a shorter length and layers. I thought it was fine until I went home and noticed that one side is longer then the other. Got my haircut on a Tuesday and called them on Thursday to let them know I would be coming in Friday night to get my hair fixed. Told them I'd be there between 7-730 and they said that would be fine. Gave them my name and said I'd see them tomorrow. Today is Friday I'm at the mall it's only 7:28 and the place is closed. Thanks a fricking lot, I want a damn refund. The girl did not know how to cut a man's hair cut... asked for spikey and a fade... got uneven hair on top and no gel. The sides were all one length not faded. I asked her to fix it and she did not know how. She didn't brush any hair off if my face nor offer to wash my hair. 20.75 way to expensive for this. Very unhappy with what I received read more

Absolute worst experience I've ever had at a salon. Horrible customer service, everyone behaved as though they were annoyed to have to be there (except for the manager, who was sweet, but unfortunately on her way out the door). Asked for a trim/a little bit shorter and the girl promptly cut off approximately 10 inches. 10. Inches. 10! Was to my waist when I walked in, now at my shoulders. Completely butchered my hair. I am new to the area, and had no idea where to go. I was at the mall when I spotted Mastercuts, and decided I'd just get a trim. They were very friendly, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I wanted done. My hair is very long and thick, and the girl that cut it, did a wonderful job. She was very nice, and asked me how everything was going and if I needed any help with finding something in Albany, which was sweet. I just recently went back to buy some shampoo and other various hair-care products. There was a different lady working, but she was just as nice! She got me an amazing deal on shampoos and conditioner, and even some root-booster. I bought a total of 5 bottles of Paul Mitchel products, for only $30! She did everything she could to get me the best deal, which was awesome. They also have very good prices on hair cuts, it was only $16 for me. The size of the shop is pretty small, though. It's not desperately small, but if you are waiting, there are only like 3 chairs. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this little shop, and will be going back for a long time. read more

I'm not even sure where to start. So a day before my appointment, I approached the reception and they were so nice and made me feel comfortable that I decided to have an appointment with them. The next day when I came in, the lady who's supposed to do my hair wasn't there and was referred to someone else, and when I explain to her what I wanted, she straight away told me "you can't have that hair, you have to be blonde like me before you can achieve that." Okay... so I clarified and again she repeated the same line. That it made me feel so uncomfortable. Fast forward (because I can't find another time to make another appointment, I stick with it thinking maybe we just started at a wrong foot) so she asked me "do you want me to do your hair or not", I said, I will have you work on my hair coz' I don't have any other time to make this. She asked me "what's your last name" and I gave it to her, and she rudely asked me "how do you spell that!" And I'm like, why are you so rude?... fast forward. She did my hair. I'm still a nice person, not being rude and pay a hefty amount to a trashy result, I was sooooo unhappy with my hair. Never going back. First and last ever. (My super big mistake). what a great shop! These hard working women are amazing. They were getting many verbal remarks like "this is the best cut I have had in a long time". Men and women customers a like. I had set up an appointment with Becca and had three color highlights and a cut. The price was less, the services were better than any other shop I had been to in many years. The cut was to the T what I wanted . The color was what I thought would be best for me and no arguments. My mom and husband loved the new look. What more could be asked for? I am not young but I believe I have the salon I am going to to keep me looking as young as I feel: for a long time to come. read more
