Due to a recent trauma, I was not ready for a male that I don't know holding my hand for an hour. Totally disregarded my needs and was confused and rushed into having Jimmy do my nails. My partner and I went to this nail shop tonight, called ahead to schedule an appointment. Walked in and a man named Jimmy sat us down with our colors. I was told I couldn't do a blue stripe on my nail with regular polish and that it could be gel only (that's definitely not true but also whatever no biggie). Jimmy was rude and short, clipped my cuticles to oblivion and clipped my partners so much that she was visibly bleeding on multiple nails. Again, visibly bleeding, Jimmy didn't stop at all and literally painted over my girlfriends nail with blood on it. Yeah now the polish has blood in it, a huge biohazard risk... I was passed off to another girl who was kind but just started painting. The colored french tips I got were see through, patchy and didn't cover my full tip. The drying UV light station had dead bugs on it. They rushed us through our services as fast as they could, I don't even think you could qualify what we got as an actual manicure. I'm a licensed cosmetologist, meaning I was also trained in nails and it definitely wasn't a manicure. Nothing was sanitized, they didn't even put a towel down on the station. Jimmy even used the same bowl to soak both mine and my partners nails in. Just dumped the water out and refilled it....this nail shop is a walking state board violation and I absolutely reported them to the board. DO NOT COME HERE! read more

I honestly loved the nails, they were cute but I went in for a fill at my normal place and my nail tech noticed a discoloration under my acrylic nail and he had to remove the entire thing to find it rotting! I visited 4 times, first was wonderful second, the technician cut my toe third, the tech did a full pedicure rather than the mini I'd asked for, then put my shoe on too soon and ruined my pedicure. I want to give some context first, I have had acrylics for a while and these were a month grown out (definitely too long I know) I am also the kind of person to tip 30%+ tip and not complain because I know how annoying customers can be. The first time I went here was great! Helped by a college student who was very kind and did my nails wonderfully. Fair price as well. This time I wanted my acrylics removed. I have always ripped them off myself (terrible I know) and it has completely destroyed my natural nail, so I wanted to go to a professional so that my nail wasn't as badly damaged. Today when I went in, an older lady helped me out, I think she was the owner? She trimmed my acrylics down and then proceeded to wedge a fake nail under my acrylic to pry it off. The first time she cut through a bit of my nail to the quick. I was very vocal about it and said wow that hurts a lot! She continued and it kept hurting. I said again, this is hurting me, do you ever soak them off? She said it takes 30 minutes and why do that when she can easily rip them off. Needless to say, I was a bit angry. She finished them up I left before she could shape them and I payed for the full removal. There was another customer and another nail tech two seats down and neither of them said anything. It was an incredibly unprofessional experience and I hope going forward they start to care more about the customers comfort instead of how much money they can make from them. read more

This is THE BEST shellac I have ever gotten. The price was good too. I just got into shellac and now I have found my nail place in Corvallis. And it's conveniently close to campus if you don't have a car. I made an appointment but I wasn't super busy. But you need to bring your own nail file and buffer, or just buy a set there for 1$ and keep it for the future. The cheapest and possibly the best salon in Corvallis if you want to look prim and proper on a dime. I usually go to Corvallis Star Nails & Spa to wax my eyebrows and upper lip, and the owner does an amazing job. She is very precise and very quick with the procedure. The eyebrow waxing is only $10 while upper lip is $8 and I've gotten many compliments on my eyebrows afterwards. This place is my new favorite. I used to go Corvallis Nails and Spa by Winco, but see my review to see how that went downhill. This is one place where I feel appreicated for being a regular. Jennifer, the owner, always remembers me even if I haven't been in for awhile. They do speak Vietnamese to each other, but you get the sense it's only because some of the people who work there don't speak very much English (aka, it does not seem like they could be talking crap about you). One time I left my nail kit in my car and Jennifer's husband went out to get it for me. This is a place that cares about customer service. I'm addicted to gel nail polish and they have a really nice selection of colors. Even if they're busy I can usually get in and out of there fairly quickly. I agree with other reviewers that the stone massages are excellent. And their massage chairs actually WORK. I also agree with other reviewers that they pay close attention to sanitation. They always have me use my own kit, and if I bring someone, they will make you buy a fresh kit. Last time I was there they even suggested I throw out my old file and get a new one. It's nice to know they care about your health. Overall, I've been to most nail places in Corvallis and this place is the best. Go there! read more

So I went here with a friend to get our acrylics off and get shellac. While we had told them that on the phone when we made the appointment when we got there they seemed really confused and it was really uncomfortable. instead of letting our nails soak they scraped them off with a card and needless to say it was a bit painful. If that wasn't enough our cuticles got a bit cut up in the process. I use to go to Nail Now but they never were on point how i liked my nails. They were always too chunky or they would make my nails look really wide! If I could leave less of a star I would. I had an appointment at 1:00 and I wasn't helped until 1:45 and then the pedicure water was cold. And then when I asked to do two layers of white on my French manicure the man said I was wrong and refused to do it. My cuticles are dry and have shellac all over them. I finally left the salon at 3:30 paying $66 for a manicure and pedicure that looks awful. Wouldn't go back. And wouldn't ever ask the guy to do my nails ever again. read more

Best place in Corvallis to get a pedicure. They do an AMMMAAAAZING hot stone massage included in every pedicure! I always come here for pedicures. I've been to HBS Express and everywhere else in town in search of the best & CHEAPEST pedicure. I think the pedicure they do for students ($22) is DEFINITELY worth a $40 pedicure. I've gotten pedicures all over the world from NYC to Shanghai, China. Being a native Californian, my mother and I believe that nice feet are next to godliness. THEY ADHERE to that as well. I've been here 5 times now and never gotten a toe issue (infection of any type) ever! The normal price if you aren't a student is $25 so it's still not bad. Also if you bring your mom and other family members they are great and apply the student discount to them as well (at least they did for me). I've only ever been in for pedicures, so I can't speak to their manicures. I've gotten both a regular pedicure and a french pedicure and they are both amazing. The french is $3 extra, it's essentially the same as a reg just with white tips. The pedicures last for 2-4 weeks depending on the season. I don't like having rough feet, so I come in closer to 2-3 weeks in the summer and less in the winter. The paint never chips, I have to trim my nails before the polish ever chips. I definitely recommend this place. Something to know about their impeccable hygiene: you need to either buy or bring your own kit with tools [items they can't sterilize] but they do provide the metal tools. The kit is between $2-$4 and they give it to you to take home [includes temp flip-flops, toe spacers, pumice piece, and file]. So something to keep in mind, I always keep my kit in my huge purse so when I go, I don't forget it because they let you reuse it :D read more

The woman, snow, who did my nails refused to make them short because "that's not sexy" and didn't give me what I wanted for design either and just did her own random flowers. It was about $30 for my pedicure - and since I dont do this very often, that seemed a bit high to me. I couldnt really communcate at all with the woman who worked on me, and they charge you for the file/buff set if you dont bring your own (you can keep it for next time). We had an appointment so they started on us right away. On a Sunday afternoon, they turned a couple people away while I was there. I've been here twice in the last month in a half for acrylics. I asked for them to push back my cuticles (customary in other salons) and they said sure and then ground them off with their acrylic grinder tool. They keep those heads for that drill in their altoid boxes and don't clean them after each customer which is the main reason it's a 1 star review. My cuticles got infected and I had to have bandaids on multiple fingers for about a week (not cute.) Upon expressing our concerns nicely to the works they rolled their eyes and the other staff talked to the other customers about how we just complain and it's all untrue. They said they could only refund us if they took our nails off which, I'm not looking for another infection. I gave them another try (why I went back) to see if the first infection was a fluke.
